Thank you for the info! I just bought a Gamma MX in XXL and without anything but a T-shirt its kinda big indeed. Sleeves feel too long as well. I like the material and the quality of it tho. I thought of returning it, but when I try it on with a Patagonia Synchilla or a North face Denali fleece underneath (bought it as an outer layer for dry winter weather) its excellent. Its not tight or annoying and it does well. I’ll keep it and buy a Gamma LT Hoodie for summer then 😁
Thanks, informative video. I have the Gamma LT and love it but find it difficult to layer under; a M is more snug than I had hoped. This winter I often used the Gamma LT under an insulating mid layer. Worked very well, super comfortable.
Hi, thank you for taking your time and explain your thought. Btw, saying that you are "jacketfetish" would be an understatement! 🤣 And to be known- you are not alone, I am, too!😁 Ok, keep your good work and all the best.

Nice... I like my Arc'teryx Covert Cardigan, under my Canada Goose Gilet, with Arc'teryx Beta AR on standby if it rains. Or Arc'teryx Fission SV Jacket, Patagonia Fleece, cotton shirt with Arc'teryx Gamma Mx pants Uk is cold, wet and raining during Winter... so Arc'teryx kit is perfect..
@@meandmyjackets ... Well, I'll give you my long answer as I have a few Arc'teryx trousers (pants). Arc'teryx Beta AR Trousers... I use these for overtrousers in very severe wet weather. Hard shell protection and very durable. Goretex Pro means they are noisy to wear, but great outdoors. Arc'teryx Gamma MX Trousers. I use these as overtrousers on cold weather, with risk of rain. But soft shell so they are quiet, great for indoor visits. Arc'teryx Gamma AR Trousers. These are very similar to MX Trousers but a lot cheaper... slightly less insulation, slightly less pocket lining quality but great as a 3 season (autumn, winter, spring) mixed weather trouser. Neat feature is a hook on each ankle to stop the leg pulling up when bending your knee Arc'teryx Gamma Quick Dry Trousers. These are really nice, I wear these around the house, and washing the car. As they dry really quick... very lightweight, so nice on hot Summers days. Arc'teryx Rho Hybrid Bottom base layer. Use for Winters days
I feel that the gamma can take more rain than the solano. The jackets that I have that are made out of GoreTex Infinium are not that great at repelling water. I have bworn the Gamma LT in the rain, and it did quite well.
They are very different. In my mind the gamma is a softshell for mountain activities, and then solano is a light jacket for everyday use. Both lack any sort of insulation. The gamma is a heavier material with the ability to stretch, while the solano is Gore-Tex infinitum.... A wind stopper. The gamma is "heavier", "tougher" and then solano is very lightweight with a thin "flannel like" backing that seems more for comfort than warmth. It's a very nice soft lightweight jacket, but to me not as durable for mountain use.
With the amount of money you spent on those jackets, you could have bought a high-end blow-up doll and produced a whole different kind of video. :) Jokes aside, I really appreciate the time you spent explaining your experience. The information really helps, because Arc'Teryx gives a lot of information on their website, but after you read it you are still left confused. Now I know what to expect between the Gamma SL, LT and MX. Thank you, and I look forward to more videos from you.
I don't have a video like that, as they are very different pieces. The Beta is a goretex waterproof / windproof hardshell. The Gamma's are softshells that are water and wind resistant, not Waterproof. In my mind, it's hard to compare them. The gamma's are more like a second layer of skin, the hardshells are like a suite of armor. I did two videos last fall, one is about hardshells, and the other is about softshells. check them out🙂ruclips.net/video/LWRHEHrjdTU/видео.html ruclips.net/video/HspIYIWH3Cc/видео.html @@anthonytroxell

I'm glad to hear that you like it. I love my gamma Slavie more than my Lt, but I guess it depends on your use too.

Yes, the fit is not as roomy, especially in the arms.
I agree…. Helped me decide about the Gamma MX .. thanks. Looking forward to more
Arc’teryx should hire you, thanks for your great reviews 👌
