So the next time someone says Legends is not canon, I'll just reply by saying "oh I guess Ahsoka isn't canon because it has Thrawn in it."
They also try to have it both ways.
If you find an inconsistency with a piece of EU lore that you're familiar with they will dismiss it *but* if you question something that the latest show is referencing from obscure games or comic runs, then you're the fool for not paying attention to all this canonical material.

If there's one thing the acolyte is proving it's that the weekly model is better than the binge model. You're all still talking about it after six weeks, but, if it had released all at once it would be forgotten about Street two. One week reacting to the show, and another reacting to the creators response to your reactions.
Did anyone actually watch it though? Weekly gave it time for EFAP and Little platoon to make frame by frame videos of it and have it out befor the airing of the next episode. I was able to watch every minute of this show via the internet and keep abreast of the extermely funny mockings. Worst decision ever in my opinion.

IMO, the "male-nude" scene in Acolyte was done (and the same with Yord shirtless) certainly to relegate men into what the producers see as the "traditional" female role of just being eye-candy...
But there is also the knowledge that this has also been done to bring "sex" to the minds of very young people, in line with much of Disney's other distasteful efforts.
My theory is that the bare chest scene was done to bring "sex" to the minds of a selected group of elder men and remind them of their certainly less impressive physique making them - lacking other means - crank up an endless row of revenue generating videos to show off their male prowess.
It's so fun watching them they are so stupid. Everything good that this show is based on was made by men and they just can't get over it. Everything bad in this and all the Disney stuff was made by women or dudes like Filoni that want to be women.

I can’t wait til The Acolyte is over. It’s taken over FNT and Open Bar(understandably). I’m not hate watching the show and it sucks to skip half the podcast.
I'm in the same boat. The show is so boring i don't even find tearing it apart to be enjoyable.
I watch EFAPS reactions to the episodes, they play the whole thing so I understand what's going on but there's enough commentary from them to actually be entertaining.
I actually really enjoying it. It's a lot more fun that actually watching it.
You don't have to "hate watch" the show yourself; watch other people watch it and react to how hilariously bad it is. There's something special about how ridiculous this show is, even compared to other Disney SW efforts
Ironically I'm gonna have to delay watching this FNT because neither EFAP nor Little Platoon have their videos out about it yet; EFAP for that 'live reaction' feel and LP for the razor-sharp teardown

Honestly glad Az is gone. I'm not gonna say he didn't occasionally contribute something entertaining to FNT but ever since the Starfield rant the guy's ego just got unbearable. Constantly interrupting, shouting, fake laughing, not watching the topic of discussion and always trying to be the centre of attention in every episode. Old Az seemed like a much more fun guy to be around but ever since he lost weight he just seems angry and miserable. Also the fact he constantly kept complaining about "I don't get Friday nights off" or whatever when he has no wife and kids or a regular job was ridiculous. You get paid to shoot the shit with your supposed buddies yet you're acting like you're at the tax office or the dentist. Anyone of us would love to be in the position Az was in and be grateful having a platform where people actually value your opinion and you make money from it. Ironically for a guy whose on a diet he needs to eat some humble pie!

Chato's description of the exposition in The Terminator is spot on! It's an exposition dump of epic proportions, but the way it is done and what is going on at the time doesn't slow the movie down. Even when Reese gets towards the big reveal and they are hiding in the car it's not boring because of the situation.
I think what killed theatre’s were 1) COVID in conjunction with streaming 2) tik tok generation.
I have talked to many undergraduates due to being a lab technician and most think anything before 2000 is too old of a movie to watch. Meaning they don’t care about movies in general, otherwise they would appreciate good old movies. This generation is dumb and has a short attention span.
Things that you mentioned are what killed oversaturation of cinema. But the truth is, if there was more good stuff in cinema, most people would go moreoften to cinema.
What made the difference with HOTD intial critism about the casting choices and other shows, the the actor who played the race changed character came out and appolgised and thanked the fans.

Recently reread one of the Clone Wars Books where Obi-Wan and Bail Organa travel to a Planet in the unknown regions named Zigoola (don't know the english title since I read it in German). It's fascinating how the travel takes its time where they can discuss the current problems and see eachother's perspectives between the Jedi and the Politician when they could have done it in 20 minutes without any impact
Disparu is the best addition to this show because he always say something smart and comments constructively.

On super hero fatigue;
"Super hero movie" should never have been a genre. That's one of the issues.
For example;
You make a buddy cop movie with black widow and hawkeye, and it would be great fun.
You make a gritty film noir starring the world's greatest detective (batman) instead of a private dick, and it would be great fun.
You make an over-the-top action movie with all of the explosions, tits and real stunts starring the punisher, like they did in the 90's, and it was great fun.
You make an R rated satirical comedy spoofing on superhero movies starring deadpool and.., oh wait they did that already and it was great fun.
Action, adventure, romance, comedy, horror, erotica, whatever.
There's a hero for everyone, and there's multiple genres for each of them.
You can't get fatigued by superhero movies if superhero movies are just like "movies in general", spanning all genres, runtimes, budgets, styles etc.
But you know, that'd make them money instead of push The Message™so that's not going to happen any time soon.
Time to move FNT up a bit. Make it a real Friday night show. 🤷🏻♂️🍻
