    Aaron Rodgers took over in Green Bay in 2008. He's only won one Super Bowl and that was in 2010. As good as he is he's proof that you need a complete team around you to win it all. The biggest concern for Buffalo is that they rely too much on Josh to win every game. There was one game this year, and I can't think off the top of my head whom it was against but the Bills ran the ball effectively. I though that they had turned a corner but they went out the next week and again put the offense on Josh's shoulders.

    My Dad told me that winning isn’t always about two sides who could win, but rather one good team and one bad team.
    Last year, Davis and Chase weren’t great against the Chiefs, he just took advantage of the poor defensive back team the Chiefs had last year. We had cornerbacks literally tripping and leaving their receivers wide open.
    I believe Davis didn’t drop off from last year, he just is what he is: a decent receiver.

    In my opinion this is what happened to the bills this season, Josh Allen never fully recovered from that elbow injury and when Von Miller went down they didn't have anybody to step in his place. They introduced their rookie wide receiver too late and he has potential to be their number 2. That alone set their offense back from being as good as it could be. They have to draft Bijan Robinson and somehow fix that offensive line. If they do those two things and their defense can stay healthy they should be right back at the top next season. Not having Von Miller and Micah Hyde really hurt the team in the playoffs.

      @Colbias14 the defense blew the Superbowl but the Preseason Favorites were the Bucs & The Bills
      Followed by the Packers & Chiefs and The Rams & Bengals. Eagles had the 13th Best Odds to win the Superbowl. Eagles did their Job, when you lose the Superbowl By 1 Score to another one seed it's not "blowing it" or "choking". You ran into a better coach, and got outschemed. Chiefs weren't some hapless nobodies like the Bengals Last Year. They were 14-3. Bills had Everything set up to benefit them, they even got OT Rules changed for them cause they cried that they couldn't win a coin toss, and they even had a Neutral Site AFCCG planned for them, and they absolutely choked. Got blown out on their home field, in their weather conditions, vs the Bengals. 10 Points. Now that's a choke. Losing to Mahomes 38-35 in a SB isn't blowing it. It's a failure. It's coming up short, something your poverty Bills know all about. But I forgot, you guys won your SB in Week 6.

  • @UnknownSageMaster

    Allen throws haymakers where simply jabbing or gaging reach would suffice. Sometime you need to sustain drives to keep your offensive unit geling, while your defense rests, even if you only come away with 3 pts. Instead he'll attempt to ALWAYS make a play when the Bills are often times in a comfortable position. This postseason exposed this a lot. Their formula works to win with their current roster but against good teams you have to play tighter

    • @SlimTim222
      @SlimTim222 Год назад +2

      You’re right about the haymakers vs. jabbing, but it wasnt all on Allen’s decision making. McKenzie was supposed to step into Beasley’s short slant role and provide Allen with that short gain security blanket. He just couldn’t do it. Dorsey’s play calling didn’t scheme guys open either.

    I was telling my Bills fan friend how confounded I was when they signed Von Miller to that mega deal at his age, and I was just drowned out by the hype. Welp, here we are. It’s gonna be rough for a dude of his age to come back from an ACL, and even rougher when you take his cap hit into account. Ultimately, the issue with the Bills offense is they’re built on splash plays, and splash plays alone aren’t enough to win games consistently. Sure, you’ll have those 170 yd 2 TD games from Diggs and have enough of them to get in the playoffs, but when you’re in the playoffs you need to be able to rely on more than just one WR, be able to run the ball effectively and be able to protect your QB. The Bills haven’t proven they’re capable of doing any of that. Furthermore, age and injury have caught up to their defense, and it isn’t anywhere near as dominant as it was the last two seasons. The Bills desperately need to build their offensive line and desperately need to find another consistent weapon on offense. Another sneaky issue is Ken Dorsey. The guy has been showered in praise all season long but he runs games like a twelve year old playing Madden. Having Josh either heave the ball up 40+ yards or do designed QB runs every play, regardless of down or distance, is one word; stupid. Josh Allen can’t do it all on his own, and for the past few years that’s exactly what the Bills have been asking of him.

    Excellent analysis of the Bills roster. I’d love to hear your thoughts from a coaching/strategy point of view. I’m a Bills fan, but the reality is their window may already be closed. Jax and Miami look like the next serious contenders in the AFC, not to mention the Jets, Ravens, New England, and even Pittsburgh. If Tennessee can get a decent QB they’re also right up there. Playing a brutal first place schedule next season, Buffalo will certainly be challenged to get back to the divisional round, let alone to the Super Bowl. If they stand pat on player and coaching personnel, it’s almost guaranteed they will finish on the outside of the playoffs looking in.

    I agree, offensive line is lacking, definitely in need of a receiver and running back. Defensively, Frazier has been consistent, the only problem I’ve seen from our D was the lack of pressure on any QB? even when VM was active on the roster they did get some penetration, not like we should be. Milano is a beast!! He’s a speed man a good spy sitting around the line. He’s had some good pressure and is productive every snap. We need some big bodies that can put pressure on the quarterback and stop the run. We fill them gaps and we are a solid team. I also think Dorsey needs to create some new plays or get someone in there who can get this offense clicking again. We are a passing team, with one solid receiver, Knox has taken up a lot of the slack. Beasley should have been used more, he has always been a great go to on 3 rd and short. I’ve been a fan since 1977 it’s been great seeing this organization turn around to what it is today, we have to keep this team productive. I will say one thing in their behalf. The did have to over come a lot of situations that arose. Between the passing of Dawson Knox’s younger brother, the storms, the shootings, then the Cinci game and the hit heard around the world. All of them problems were probably never really dealt with, they have to be ready for the following week. It might have all just had a chain reaction on them and they shut down, they lost their focus.

    A lot of people still don't see the big picture, and only look at the headlines with short attention spans. Yes, the Bills looked damn good coming into this season. When a GM and coach have a roster they're comfortable with before a season, unforseen problems can occur and change the trajectory of the team. ie: OL not playing as well as they did last year. Hyde out for the year. Poyer playing injured. Losing CBs as soon as one comes back. Gabe Davis not stepping up like we all thought he would. Knox being invisible as a pass catcher early on. McKenzie not stepping up into that slot role, plus losing Crowder early on, who was the veteran slot guy. Losing Von. Jordan Phillips battling injuries all season. Not to mention, stubborn coaches on both sides of the ball refusing to adjust, or break their stubborn ways(LESLIE) -These guys were brought in or expected to step up and shit went wrong, it happens. Take all that, along with all the short weeks from primetime games, coupled with all the off-field tragedies in the Buffalo area and the Damar incident, and it takes a toll on these guys. They're human beings, and like they said after the Cincy loss, "We just ran out of gas." And casual football fans and trolls will say "Nah they choked lol" but just refuse to look at all the evidence. There's excuses, and then there's x-factors that directly have impacts on a team. Bills just couldn't overcome *everything*. Not sure many teams could have either.

Allen is a pea brain QB that only plays hero ball, so he throws 40 yard bombs when they need a yard. and without daboll there to reign in his nonsense, you saw the clear regression this year from allen. the window has closed on this team. allens contract is about to kick in. you couldnt even win when allen and diggs only had like a 29 million cap hit, vs burrow and jamar at 17 million. now next year, burrow and jamar are only 18 million, but allen and diggs jumps up to 60 million. both the bengals and chiefs will easily stay ahead of this iteration of the bills, its over for this team.

    Some of the points in the video have pretty obvious answers.
    Gabe Davis is a simply not a good route runner underneath like Diggs or Jeudy. He doesn't create the same separation as those guys, his cuts aren't as crisp, etc. He can give you some big play ability but he isn't going to give you reliable WR2 production.
    Saffold used to be pretty good in both phases early in his career, both at Tackle and when he eventually moved inside. But his last couple years in Tennessee you could already see the writing on the wall. Yea his pressure numbers were low but that's because the Titans throw it like 12 times a game. He saw nearly 800 snaps in pass pro this season, with a QB who likes to extend the play. He saw roughly 500 each of the last 2 seasons in Nashville. His PFF grades for pass pro dropped significantly in 2020 and then again in 2021. That wasn't going to improve by this point in his career. It was his run blocking that also tanked, showing if he plays anywhere in 2023 it should be for a team with a power run game and not a pass first zone system. This was just a bad signing.
    And the only issue with Von is his health. He had 45 pressures and 8 sacks in just over 10 games. That's on pace for 70 pressures and 13 sacks in a 17 game season. Dude was fine and will be fine again at that salary, if healthy.

    • @terranceramirez4816
      @terranceramirez4816 Год назад +1

      @Kougami which is why I continue to say that the NFL needs to fix the problem with the rookie/prime QB contract cliff. The case could be made that maintaining a hard cap as opposed to implementing a Bird rule as the NBA did when they implemented their rookie wage scale enhances competitive balance as it maintains the even footing between small and large markets, it is manifestly anti-parity as it drastically limits the amount of teams that can actually win a championship while not preventing teams like the Rams from using cap games to build stacked rosters (at least from a top-line POV, their depth still sucked)

    • @terranceramirez4816
      @terranceramirez4816 Год назад

      @Kougami it also makes the NFL weirdly kakistocratic as the prohibitively surest path to a championship is to have a top-5 draft pick QB on a rookie contract and picks that high generally only accrue to the worst organizations. Thus, the most poorly run teams actually have a great competitive advantage (see cf Bengals, Cincinnati) while well run teams are rewarded with an indefinite stay in purgatory that essentially requires luck to leave.

    What really got me was how they were just never in that game against Cincinnati at all. Maybe the rollercoaster of a season just wore them down to the point that there was nothing left? Idk. But, it felt like all the emotion and adrenaline should have been with them in that game and its like it just never happened. But then again, there''s reasons why coaches try to keep distractions to a minimum and for this team that was just possible. And they're human, things are going to affect them. And they're young, for some of this, this was probably the first life and death type trauma they've experienced or had happen right in front of them. Clearly in like the first game after Damar's cardiac arrest the emotions and adrenaline carried them through but I mean, that doesn't last forever. Obviously there are other issues here that are more football related, like coaching, injuries, and so on. In the meantime you have a slot receiver named Cole Beasley who in his two full seasons with the Bills caught 160 passes, 57% of them for first downs. In this game he had three catches for 33 yds. all for first downs and you don't throw to him when you need first downs. The Bills resigned Beasley at the end of the season for this very reason That's "HERO BALL" and it cost them any chance at winning.

    There's not much to talk about. Regardless of what some extrordinarily misguided people have said, the Bills have not been a legit SB contender in a couple decades. Nor will they be anytime in the near future. This team relies 100% on the arm of Josh Allen, and Allen, quite simply, is not enough to win a SB as a starting QB. This team's D is far too inconsistent to ever be a serious threat in the playoffs, and when your QB is your leading rusher in over half your games, well, that's pretty much game over.

    Toughest schedule in the league and they had three losses by a combined 8 points in the regular season and in all those games you can make a strong case they had no business losing. For a large portion of the season they had the largest point differential in the nfl.
    Top 5 d and o.
    Suddenly everyone “ knew it all along” and the window has “ closed”.
    They have issues but can anyone be more dramatic? They dealt with a ton of injuries and were without Von , Hyde, Hamlin and jones plus Poyer, white, Oliver, Rousseau, Milano, and Phillips are clearly not themselves although they played.
    Tons of wild and unpredictable adversity this year and they just ran into a buzzsaw in Cincinnati who is peaking at the right time ( Bills peaked too early).
    Everyone needs to take a deep breath and get some perspective. This was and is a very good team. They will be back. Again and again.

    Beane has a 5-15mill coupon built in for all 3 guys. That they can cash in every year if they need to. The cap I’m not entirely worried about. I am worried about the McDermotts rotational starter issues. Stop rotating cb, slot wr, te, DL. Regardless this team took a step back for the first time. Dorsey’s scattered offense only got where it did cuz of 17. Almost a week later I still think it’s time for Frazier to go and Dorsey too. When New OCs are having instant success with much lesser talent. Getting bounced 3 years in a row because of coaching means next year won’t be different. We said that last year they will learn from it. They Don’t. It’s time for a new HC.

    The Bills will really need to bring their "A" game each and every week next season. The Jets are essentially just a QB away from being a very strong contender in the AFC East. All it would take for the Bills to have to happen is for Allen to go down with a season-ending injury and that would essentially end their season. Hence McDermott and Beane have to decide if they think RB Cook is going to be the RB going forward or to either look or draft for a RB elsewhere. They also need to address the need for another quality WR to complement and help Diggs. With very little to no cap space Beane is going to have to be a magician to bolster this lineup.

    In the AFC Championship the Chiefs got 4 sacks on Burrow in the first 10 minutes of the first quarter.
    Josh Allen needs to focus on ball security moving forward I'm getting tired of the empty trips when doing nothing will get you 3 points at worst.
    Tremaine Edmunds also needs to go, he reacts to plays in front of him, has little awareness and anticipation- I've seen him cover grass way too often.

Mix that with a horribly coached defense by Frazier and the bengals game is what you get.

    As a Bills fan, I’m not as much concerned over the defense and receiver as I am with the run game. For me, the top priority is the offense line and the run game. They lose winnable games because their whole offense runs through Josh. They need a backup plan for when he’s not clicking (aka the run game). If they beat the Dolphins(lost 21-19) or the Jets (lost 20-17) they would’ve played the Jags and not the Bengals
