I hated the Cowboys and the Giants, especially, in those days, because they always seemed to be the ones that knocked out the 49ers, whenever they’d come up short in the playoffs. I always liked Jim Kelly (I like him even more, today), and Thurman Thomas, too, back then. Plus, as a lifelong Bama fan, Cornelius Bennett was one of my favorite players on defense. I’d actually gotten his (Bennett’s) autograph, one day when he was in Birmingham, a couple of years before the Super Bowl streak started, so the Bills were just about my favorite team then, other than the Niners. I would’ve loved to have seen them win one, but I’m sure you would’ve loved that, too. Oh, well. Maybe one day they’ll do it. I hope they do, someday.

My family has been die hard bills fans forever now. My grandparents wanted one SB. My grandfather would watch the bills every game even through their worst years. The commitment to them is amazing, my hometown team the panthers are terrible and I can't even watch them. My grandmother is the last remaining and I just wish josh Allen would've got a SB for them. Sadly I don't see them doing that in time.

From 84-96 the NFC was basically the SEC to the AFC’s PAC 12. Only 2 Super Bowls ended within one possession in that time frame with an average MOD of 38-19.
Yep, i was coming of age through the 80's and early 90's and have some vivid memories of CBS's NFC coverage with Summerall and Madden commentating the 49ers, Giants, Bears, Skins, and Cowboys seemingly every week. Almost every year it seemed like the NFC Championship was the de facto Super Bowl. The NFC teams always just seemed more physical and more talented during that era.
@@YMagoulo Broncos we’re the only Suoerbowl winner out of the AFC in the 90’s. Same with the Raiders in the 80’s and the Cowboys being the lone Superbowl champion in the 70’s.

Keeping in mind, they were playing against a lot of the best the NFL has ever seen in those 4 years during an NFC domination. 1990 Giants had a fierce defense in terms of scheming to stop you, and Bill Belichick was the ring leader of it(he was able to get a 5 year coaching gig with Cleveland as a result of this year). 1991 Redskins had one of the most efficient offenses in NFL history with an offensive line that saw Mark Rypien get sacked less times than he threw interceptions(7 sacks to 11 picks) as well as a really great defenses. One of the best teams of all-time. 1992 and 1993 Cowboys were a part of that 90s Dynasty, a true force on all facets with the scoring offense, the lack of turnover issues, and overall just sheer efficiency and well-builtness they had in a time when dynasties were all-but guaranteed to fall as a result of the cap hit after that year. Buffalo should have won 1 of these games, yes. But in the end they really faced against the best the NFL will ever see 4 straight years and tried their hardest to not let it deter them each time.
Correct. The Bills lost primarily because the best of the NFC was better than that of the AFC. The '90 NY Giants still had a great defense, but a very average offense (with no-name WRs), so this was the game the Bills should have won, but lost in a heartbreaker. There were some missed tackles and other missed opporunities that led to the loss, not just the missed field goal at the end. The '91 Redskins was the last great Redskins team, and they went against an overmatched Bills defense - I knew the Bills would lose this game. What was surprising is that the Bills high-powered offense was ineffective for most of the game. The '92 and '93 Cowboys were one of the greatest young teams in NFL history, they were fast, and the defensive line was very deep. And in the second half Emitt Smith was just running at will against the Bills light defensive line. It was tough to watch, but those last three losses were inevitable. The just simply lost to better, more physical teams.
I think the only Super Bowl the Bills were favored was the Giants Super Bowl. You’re correct about the Giants defense. They played the 49ers twice that year (MNF and NFC title game), lost the MNF game 7-3 (both teams were 10-1at the time), and won the title game 15-13. Thus, they allowed 20 points COMBINED against a 14-2 49ers team that I believe had the best opportunity to three-peat of any team history. Defense was that good.

Jim Kelley’s years in the USFL with the Houston Gamblers were truly remarkable. In fact, it was that Gambler team coached by Jack Pardee who started the Run and Shoot offense in pro football led by Mouse Davis, which was then copied by a very envious Houston Oilers, who by then were coached by,… Jack Pardee.

It reminds me of what I've been through as a fan of the team. 4 straight Super Bowl losses, 17 years without a playoff appearance, seemingly wasting Josh Allen's best years. But I still believe that one of my children won't have to come to my gravestone to let me know the Bills finally won a Super Bowl like Red Sox fans did in 2004. I still billieve I will see it with my own eyes.

As a lifelong Bills fan, born after this legendary time, i have never met a true fan of this team that hates this time period. Everyone i've ever met just remembers the beautiful offense and dominance on defense. You ever notice how Thurman Thomas took a handoff? I played 1 year of high school football and learned to never reach for the handoff. always make a pocket for the QB to stick the ball in. Good teams like the Cowboys and Redskins saw that and went right for the ball.

With all their talents, the Bills ran the most inept 2-min offense I've seen in their first SB vs the Giants. When I watched the game on TV 32 years ago, I was shocked by the time they wasted after getting the ball back with 2:16 to go, with the famous K-Gun, no-huddle offense. They ran the offense in 2:08 and got 70 yards in 7 plays. And after Thomas reached the their own 40-yard line, took 1:27 and a timeout to go only 30 more yards, to a spot where Norwood was 1-5 that season. Gimme a break! The situation: 2:16 90 yards to go, with 1 TO and 1 2-min warning. 1) 2:16 (1st and 10), 90 to go, Kelly 8-yard run, play ended at 2:07 Clock ticked down to the 2 min warning. 2) 2:00 (2nd and 2) 82 to go, Kelly 1-yard run, play ended at 1:52 3) 1:42 (3rd and 1) 81 to go, Thomas 21-yard run, play ended at 1:35 4) 1:22 (1st and 10) 60 to go, Kelly 5-yard pass to Reed, play ended at 1:15 5) 1:02 (2nd and 5) 55 to go, Kelly 9-yard run, play ended at 0:51 Timeout at 0:48 6) 0:48 (1st and 10) 46 to go, Kelly pass to McKellar, play ended at 0:39 Clock stopped at 0:29 for the officials to review the catch 7) 0:26 (2nd and 4) 40 to go, Thomas 10-yard run, play ended at 0:18 8) 0:09 (1st and 10) 30 to go, Kelly spiked the ball, clock stopped at 0:08 0:08 (2nd and 10) Norwood's kick No spiking the ball except the play before the kick, no running out of bounds, all the runs down to the middle, no passes to the sideline. Check out the game. On play #3 (Thomas's 21-yard run), #5 (Kelly's 9-yard run) and #7 (Thomas' 10-yard run), they could easily have headed to the sidelines instead of gaining the extra few yards inbounds but wasted 25 precious seconds and a timeout. Can those 25 seconds and a timeout get them 10-20 yards closer for Norwood? or even setup the kick at the middle of the field instead of at the hash mark? Yes, I understand. That's the Giants' strategy: keep you in the field so that the clock won't stop. The Bills played into their hands and crumbled. As a top team, the Bills should have countered this strategy, and preserved the precious time. Jim Kelly could have done much better. It looked like he forgot all the tricks of running a 2-min offense.
I went to college near Buffalo at this time. Even though it was heart breaking and inconceivable to lose 4 straight SB. I mostly remember the good feelings of those great players. It was interesting to hear your recap because I have long forgotten the details surrounding that run.

i was in highschool when these Superbowls happened. watching it firsthand, without internet was even more tragic than everyone sees it now. cos time was slower, so every year from 1989-1996 Jim Kelly and the Bills were in the spotlight. my own memories were this . #25 - Bill Beleichick's defense scheme was flawless. Bills never adapted (more on that later) to it in the 2nd half. Norwood missed, sure. but the team was cocky af. which was expected (especially after a 51-3 win in the AFCCG) but i wish Marv had reigned them in a bit. #26 - stupid stuff happened. Thurman lost his helmet, which paralysed him for the rest of the game. and they wanted to/needed to throw the ball all the time. which would be fine, if Jim Kelly didn't move his hands before the shotgun snap. MASSIVE tell to the Red*kin defense. that Washington team doesn't get enough love. they were a serious 14-2. #27 - people forget that they led 7-0 in the Superbowl, and Dallas didn't do a lot in the first quarter. then turnovers. and an offensive plan that didn't seem to be very different than the last 2 years. plus, injuires, plus the K-gun was exhausting to the o-line. by the end i was just suffering. Beebe's hustle, at the time, made me cry. #28 - a dodgy bit of video, filming the shuffle pass doomed them. but... dallas was the same as the year before. i guess this was why i was unhappy at halftime, despite the 13-6 lead. and once the Dallas O-Line took over. after the first 3 runs i turned to my Dad and said "We're in trouble.." But, the Buffalo offense COLLAPSED. look at the sideline now, every player wants out of that building after the Thurman fumble. even the coaches. it was a time that gave me a fukload of cynicism in my life. that and the 20 year Tom Brady regime. Still my favorite players, though. Especially Jim Kelly.
The fact the Bills in SB 25 only had the ball for 19 minutes and the only reason they lost was a missed FG speaks to how great that team was. Norwood's miss is the reason it snowballed
@@jlillerJoe Gibbs was that great a coach. He stepped down after the following season (92) and the franchise hasn't recovered. Their best stretch since was when he came out of retirement in the mid 00s.
I mean it's a goddamn shame for the Bills to be perfectly honest. But they straight the hell up EARNED going to those SB's. The AFC being soft or not, no one else stepped up to stop them, so what were they supposed to do? Just not win when they could? They were sadly just not as good as the NFC teams of that era. Some of the biggest juggernauts to ever grace the field, who on each of those days just got the better of them when it counted. 4 SB's in a row, win or lose is EASILY something to be proud of accomplishing. Our buffalo history gets even sadder when you look further into the 90's.... We had every Major League team make a championship appearance. The Bill's would lose the 4 consecutive Superbowls. The Sabre's would lose our second and last (as of now) Stanley cup appearance. The only highlight we had is we got a brand new lacrosse team called the Buffalo Bandits, that would be the only championship wins in that decade. Meaning we ended the season: 3-7 for championships in that decade along. Pretty fucking depressing if you ask me.

I was a kid during this time and the NFC champ game was seen as the "real Super Bowl." If you look at the list of Super Bowl champs, the AFC had long stretches of not winning a SB , lose 6 win 1 and then lose 4 more etc. and the NFC was seen as the much better conference. It was maybe Elway's back to back SB wins that finally ended this perception.
Why the bills lost 1990-1993: 1990: Could easily be stopped if the offense didn't get the ball for long, which is what happened to them in the Super Bowl 1991: very easy schedule, turnovers, bruce smith's injury, and a lack of a run defense, And also the fact that the 91 redskins destroyed everyone 1992: so-so wins, bad losses, jim kelly leading the league in picks, late season injuries, and also facing a loaded cowboys team 1993: bailed out by luck many times, somewhat overrated offense, and defense was...kinda there, and also, the cowboys were loaded as hell
In 1990, they were down 21-9 to Denver with about 7:00 left, and they had a miracle blocked FG return that may have saved that team's legacy. They came back to beat Denver, and they pulled out fourth quarter comebacks the next two weeks as well (against the Raiders and Jets). If they lose those games, they are 2-4 instead of 5-1, and the bad vibes and the "Bickering Bills" may have come back. You are right about 91, and 92 was really pathetic. The Oilers just completely choked in that WC game, and the Dolphins only ran the ball 11 times in the AFC Title Game.
Only one team from each conference won a superbowl in each of the first 4 decades of the superbowl era until the 2000’s. Packers of the 60’s, Cowboys in the 70’s, Raiders in the 80’s and Broncos in the 90’s. Fun fact.

At one time, 4 teams from the NFC East had winning records and 1990 The Wild Card game was NFC East teams. 1990 had AFC had some strength but the NFC East was to dominate with 3 teams to enter the playoffs, Giants, Eagles and the Skins. 1991 had the NFC with the dominance because use the wild card teams had 2 teams with 11-5 records and the other 2 teams have 10-6 records and a third team had 10-6. 1992 had similar NFC dominance with NFC East having 3 teams with winning records. 1993 had the AFC catching up NFC East had only the Cowboys and Giants with good records. 1994 became about even with NFC and AFC. NFC had 4 9-7 teams to challenge for the Wildcard whereas AFC had Wildcard teams with 11-5 and 10-6. The Bills lost all 4 Super Bowls to an NFC East Team. Ace Ventura mocked the poor Bills 1991 Super Bowl kicker...
Buffalo can't seem to get out of their own way when it comes to the SUper Bowl. You have the 90s Bills who got to the 4 SBs, an awesome feat in itself, but couldn't win any of them, the Buffalo Bills during the 2000s and 2010s could not get past the Dynastic Patriots during the regular season, and NOW, even with a top QB, they can't get past the Dynastic Kansas City Chiefs, which, like the Patriots, have a brilliant QB.

You don't know Bills history. They made the playoffs in '95, '96, '98, '99. '96 was a very good team; Kelly played the game (Jag's) with a concussion after receiving a knee to the head and ruled a fumble with his knee down before losing the ball (when he received the knee to the helmet). Lost by 3. Chances were good for another SB appearance; but probably would not have fared well against a Steve Young 49'ers team. "99 was the forward pass Titans game. Coach screwed up by playing Johnson in place of Flutie; otherwise would not have came down to a ref bad call. They had a decent shot. If you want to say Buff was dead after the Bledsoe period a few years later, agreed.
The thing is, the early 90s Bills were good, but not Super Bowl good. The AFC during that era was simply abysmal, at least when compared to the NFC. John Elway's Broncos also came pretty close three times in the late 80s, but they were only able to get a ring a decade later.

Hey TubFrog, you missed a Key Point on the 4th Super Bowl 1st Half Bills outscoring Cowboys; Troy Aikman was still suffering from the effects of the Concussion he sustained in the NFC Championship Game vs 49ers, also that for the 1st & only Time the NFL decided to have only a 1 Week Break between the Conference Championships & the Super Bowl! If Aikman had an extra week to Rest & Recover, he would have Carved Up the Bills by Half Time!
Would love to see the same treatment for the Minnesota Vikings losing 4 super bowls and making 10 nfc championships and now being hyped up with the passtronaut 🤣

Yep, i was coming of age through the 80's and early 90's and have some vivid memories of CBS's NFC coverage with Summerall and Madden commentating the 49ers, Giants, Bears, Skins, and Cowboys seemingly every week. Almost every year it seemed like the NFC Championship was the de facto Super Bowl. The NFC teams always just seemed more physical and more talented during that era.

Keeping in mind, they were playing against a lot of the best the NFL has ever seen in those 4 years during an NFC domination.
1990 Giants had a fierce defense in terms of scheming to stop you, and Bill Belichick was the ring leader of it(he was able to get a 5 year coaching gig with Cleveland as a result of this year).
1991 Redskins had one of the most efficient offenses in NFL history with an offensive line that saw Mark Rypien get sacked less times than he threw interceptions(7 sacks to 11 picks) as well as a really great defenses. One of the best teams of all-time.
1992 and 1993 Cowboys were a part of that 90s Dynasty, a true force on all facets with the scoring offense, the lack of turnover issues, and overall just sheer efficiency and well-builtness they had in a time when dynasties were all-but guaranteed to fall as a result of the cap hit after that year.
Buffalo should have won 1 of these games, yes. But in the end they really faced against the best the NFL will ever see 4 straight years and tried their hardest to not let it deter them each time.

Correct. The Bills lost primarily because the best of the NFC was better than that of the AFC. The '90 NY Giants still had a great defense, but a very average offense (with no-name WRs), so this was the game the Bills should have won, but lost in a heartbreaker. There were some missed tackles and other missed opporunities that led to the loss, not just the missed field goal at the end. The '91 Redskins was the last great Redskins team, and they went against an overmatched Bills defense - I knew the Bills would lose this game. What was surprising is that the Bills high-powered offense was ineffective for most of the game. The '92 and '93 Cowboys were one of the greatest young teams in NFL history, they were fast, and the defensive line was very deep. And in the second half Emitt Smith was just running at will against the Bills light defensive line. It was tough to watch, but those last three losses were inevitable. The just simply lost to better, more physical teams.
I think the only Super Bowl the Bills were favored was the Giants Super Bowl. You’re correct about the Giants defense. They played the 49ers twice that year (MNF and NFC title game), lost the MNF game 7-3 (both teams were 10-1at the time), and won the title game 15-13. Thus, they allowed 20 points COMBINED against a 14-2 49ers team that I believe had the best opportunity to three-peat of any team history. Defense was that good.

Jim Kelley’s years in the USFL with the Houston Gamblers were truly remarkable. In fact, it was that Gambler team coached by Jack Pardee who started the Run and Shoot offense in pro football led by Mouse Davis, which was then copied by a very envious Houston Oilers, who by then were coached by,… Jack Pardee.
I met Jim as a kid . He was a gentle giant man a real nice guy I met hit at a park in south jersey and got to play catch with him. My dad was stoked about it even though we're a eagle's family lol

It reminds me of what I've been through as a fan of the team. 4 straight Super Bowl losses, 17 years without a playoff appearance, seemingly wasting Josh Allen's best years. But I still believe that one of my children won't have to come to my gravestone to let me know the Bills finally won a Super Bowl like Red Sox fans did in 2004. I still billieve I will see it with my own eyes.

The 1990 Bills team was one of the best I’ve ever seen. They had a defense and for the time one of the most high powered offenses I had seen.
As a lifelong Bills fan, born after this legendary time, i have never met a true fan of this team that hates this time period. Everyone i've ever met just remembers the beautiful offense and dominance on defense. I think everyone is just really happy that the Bills have this long stretch of being the best team in the AFC like this. Anyways, Go Buffalo.

You ever notice how Thurman Thomas took a handoff? I played 1 year of high school football and learned to never reach for the handoff. always make a pocket for the QB to stick the ball in. Good teams like the Cowboys and Redskins saw that and went right for the ball.

I'll never forget how happy I was when the Broncos beat the Packers and ended that horrible streak of NFC Super Bowl wins, because I was a Bills fan and they were responsible for a large portion of that streak. Being a Bills fan is tough. Even now.

With all their talents, the Bills ran the most inept 2-min offense I've seen in their first SB vs the Giants.
When I watched the game on TV 32 years ago, I was shocked by the time they wasted after getting the ball back with 2:16 to go, with the famous K-Gun, no-huddle offense. They ran the offense in 2:08 and got 70 yards in 7 plays. And after Thomas reached the their own 40-yard line, took 1:27 and a timeout to go only 30 more yards, to a spot where Norwood was 1-5 that season. Gimme a break!
The situation: 2:16 90 yards to go, with 1 TO and 1 2-min warning.
1) 2:16 (1st and 10), 90 to go, Kelly 8-yard run, play ended at 2:07

No spiking the ball except the play before the kick, no running out of bounds, all the runs down to the middle, no passes to the sideline. Check out the game. On play #3 (Thomas's 21-yard run), #5 (Kelly's 9-yard run) and #7 (Thomas' 10-yard run), they could easily have headed to the sidelines instead of gaining the extra few yards inbounds but wasted 25 precious seconds and a timeout. Can those 25 seconds and a timeout get them 10-20 yards closer for Norwood? or even setup the kick at the middle of the field instead of at the hash mark?
Yes, I understand. That's the Giants' strategy: keep you in the field so that the clock won't stop. The Bills played into their hands and crumbled. As a top team, the Bills should have countered this strategy, and preserved the precious time. Jim Kelly could have done much better. It looked like he forgot all the tricks of running a 2-min offense.
I still have PTSD from watching them lose all 4 times... and I'm a Giants fan! 😂

I went to college near Buffalo at this time. Even though it was heart breaking and inconceivable to lose 4 straight SB. I mostly remember the good feelings of those great players. It was interesting to hear your recap because I have long forgotten the details surrounding that run.

i was in highschool when these Superbowls happened.
watching it firsthand, without internet was even more tragic than everyone sees it now. cos time was slower, so every year from 1989-1996 Jim Kelly and the Bills were in the spotlight.
my own memories were this .
#25 - Bill Beleichick's defense scheme was flawless. Bills never adapted (more on that later) to it in the 2nd half. Norwood missed, sure. but the team was cocky af. which was expected (especially after a 51-3 win in the AFCCG) but i wish Marv had reigned them in a bit.
#26 - stupid stuff happened. Thurman lost his helmet, which paralysed him for the rest of the game. and they wanted to/needed to throw the ball all the time. which would be fine, if Jim Kelly didn't move his hands before the shotgun snap. MASSIVE tell to the Red*kin defense. that Washington team doesn't get enough love. they were a serious 14-2.
#27 - people forget that they led 7-0 in the Superbowl, and Dallas didn't do a lot in the first quarter. then turnovers. and an offensive plan that didn't seem to be very different than the last 2 years. plus, injuires, plus the K-gun was exhausting to the o-line. by the end i was just suffering. Beebe's hustle, at the time, made me cry.
#28 - a dodgy bit of video, filming the shuffle pass doomed them. but... dallas was the same as the year before. i guess this was why i was unhappy at halftime, despite the 13-6 lead. and once the Dallas O-Line took over. after the first 3 runs i turned to my Dad and said "We're in trouble.." But, the Buffalo offense COLLAPSED. look at the sideline now, every player wants out of that building after the Thurman fumble. even the coaches.
it was a time that gave me a fukload of cynicism in my life. that and the 20 year Tom Brady regime. Still my favorite players, though. Especially Jim Kelly.

The fact the Bills in SB 25 only had the ball for 19 minutes and the only reason they lost was a missed FG speaks to how great that team was. Norwood's miss is the reason it snowballed

@@jlillerJoe Gibbs was that great a coach. He stepped down after the following season (92) and the franchise hasn't recovered. Their best stretch since was when he came out of retirement in the mid 00s.
I mean it's a goddamn shame for the Bills to be perfectly honest. But they straight the hell up EARNED going to those SB's. The AFC being soft or not, no one else stepped up to stop them, so what were they supposed to do? Just not win when they could? They were sadly just not as good as the NFC teams of that era. Some of the biggest juggernauts to ever grace the field, who on each of those days just got the better of them when it counted. 4 SB's in a row, win or lose is EASILY something to be proud of accomplishing.

Our buffalo history gets even sadder when you look further into the 90's.... We had every Major League team make a championship appearance. The Bill's would lose the 4 consecutive Superbowls. The Sabre's would lose our second and last (as of now) Stanley cup appearance. The only highlight we had is we got a brand new lacrosse team called the Buffalo Bandits, that would be the only championship wins in that decade. Meaning we ended the season: 3-7 for championships in that decade along. Pretty fucking depressing if you ask me.

I was a kid during this time and the NFC champ game was seen as the "real Super Bowl." If you look at the list of Super Bowl champs, the AFC had long stretches of not winning a SB , lose 6 win 1 and then lose 4 more etc. and the NFC was seen as the much better conference. It was maybe Elway's back to back SB wins that finally ended this perception.
The NFC won a dozen straight until Elway and the Broncos ended it over Favre and the Packers in 1998.

Why the bills lost 1990-1993:
1990: Could easily be stopped if the offense didn't get the ball for long, which is what happened to them in the Super Bowl
1991: very easy schedule, turnovers, bruce smith's injury, and a lack of a run defense, And also the fact that the 91 redskins destroyed everyone
1992: so-so wins, bad losses, jim kelly leading the league in picks, late season injuries, and also facing a loaded cowboys team
1993: bailed out by luck many times, somewhat overrated offense, and defense was...kinda there, and also, the cowboys were loaded as hell
In 1990, they were down 21-9 to Denver with about 7:00 left, and they had a miracle blocked FG return that may have saved that team's legacy. They came back to beat Denver, and they pulled out fourth quarter comebacks the next two weeks as well (against the Raiders and Jets). If they lose those games, they are 2-4 instead of 5-1, and the bad vibes and the "Bickering Bills" may have come back.
You are right about 91, and 92 was really pathetic. The Oilers just completely choked in that WC game, and the Dolphins only ran the ball 11 times in the AFC Title Game.

Only one team from each conference won a superbowl in each of the first 4 decades of the superbowl era until the 2000’s. Packers of the 60’s, Cowboys in the 70’s, Raiders in the 80’s and Broncos in the 90’s. Fun fact.

This is the time when the NFC East was the most powerful division in all of football. At one time, 4 teams from the NFC East had winning records and 1990 The Wild Card game was NFC East teams.
1990 had AFC had some strength but the NFC East was to dominate with 3 teams to enter the playoffs, Giants, Eagles and the Skins.
1991 had the NFC with the dominance because use the wild card teams had 2 teams with 11-5 records and the other 2 teams have 10-6 records and a third team had 10-6.
1992 had similar NFC dominance with NFC East having 3 teams with winning records.
1993 had the AFC catching up NFC East had only the Cowboys and Giants with good records.
1994 became about even with NFC and AFC. NFC had 4 9-7 teams to challenge for the Wildcard whereas AFC had Wildcard teams with 11-5 and 10-6.
The Bills lost all 4 Super Bowls to an NFC East Team.

Buffalo can't seem to get out of their own way when it comes to the SUper Bowl. You have the 90s Bills who got to the 4 SBs, an awesome feat in itself, but couldn't win any of them, the Buffalo Bills during the 2000s and 2010s could not get past the Dynastic Patriots during the regular season, and NOW, even with a top QB, they can't get past the Dynastic Kansas City Chiefs, which, like the Patriots, have a brilliant QB.

You don't know Bills history. They made the playoffs in '95, '96, '98, '99. '96 was a very good team; Kelly played the game (Jag's) with a concussion after receiving a knee to the head and ruled a fumble with his knee down before losing the ball (when he received the knee to the helmet). Lost by 3. Chances were good for another SB appearance; but probably would not have fared well against a Steve Young 49'ers team. "99 was the forward pass Titans game. Coach screwed up by playing Johnson in place of Flutie; otherwise would not have came down to a ref bad call. They had a decent shot. If you want to say Buff was dead after the Bledsoe period a few years later, agreed.
The thing is, the early 90s Bills were good, but not Super Bowl good. The AFC during that era was simply abysmal, at least when compared to the NFC. John Elway's Broncos also came pretty close three times in the late 80s, but they were only able to get a ring a decade later.

If Aikman had an extra week to Rest & Recover, he would have Carved Up the Bills by Half Time!
