    Hmmm....malls below average and struggled to find movie theatres?...bit weird to me given I live in Romania and actually think it has better malls than some in England and Australia. AFi Cotroceni has a year round ice skating ring and rock climbing grotto wall that are outstanding and also a great cinema complex. Baneasa and Park Lake are also excellent and the cinema complex in Mega Mall Pantelimon one of the best I have been to in any country, watched my first movie in 4DX there...so I don't agree with your score on Entertainment. With regard to your Friendliness rating though, 100% spot on, awesome people.

      @@GroundedLifeTravel im not a huge mall person, but I know what you mean, its to be expected though when you think of Singapore. My point was that most people dont think the same when you equate Romania with malls, but they have some excellent ones and quite a few and not hard to find at all.

    • @Bobskiboy85
      @Bobskiboy85 5 лет назад +23

      @Calu Valentin Its not important at all. Point these people made was that the malls were below average and hard to find, which I disagreed with; Bucharest does have malls that are very easy to find and are very good, that was the point. But for me I really don't care about malls as they are full of over priced exclusive brands most people cant afford.

      Grounded Life Travel Oh then I understand 😂. Best ones are Baneasa Mall (reachable by a few bus lines otherwise taxi) Afi Mall (Politehnica Metro Station on Line 3 then a short walking distance) and Plaza Romania (One stop further on the metro than Afi Mall). Also, don’t fear the metro, it might actually be one of the least sketchy and safest places in Bucharest altogether. All lines run in two directions (The last stops on either side of the line) which are shown on an electronic panel at the head of the train, or shown by signs on platforms. Some stations do have older signs that are hard to understand but otherwise you have the sign on the front of the train.

    Woah woah woah, no rice and BEANS? You've got to be joking, both are used in Romanian traditional dishes, especially beans, both green and mature. I don't know where you've been, but you seem to have chosen the more modern trendy places, not traditional. You can find traditional baked beans and different kinds of rice even at the cheaper cafeterias in shopping centers.
    Speaking of shopping centers, ours seem to be better than most of Europe, according to those who've been there. I can tell you from personal experience that they're nicer than where I've been in northern Italy, at least. Same with cinemas, I've always had my college mates say they went and saw new movies in theatres and it was cheap too.
    Also I'm positive you can find an apartment complex with a pool up top, but they are in the newer residential areas on the outskirts of Bucharest. They've been building new apartment buildings like madmen compared to back in 2012 when I first went there as a student. By 2018 when I left, the city was so different I couldn't believe it. It actually felt futuristic, given how used I was with old communist flats. 😂

I'm glad your experience in Bucharest was good overall. May you have a good 2021!

      @Salajanywood 3 года назад

      @@costinhalaicu2746 i’m gonna answer in english, for everybody to understand : yes indeed, in Bucharest the medium wage is about 1000 us dollars, but that includes classes of people like it workers, engineers etc. The mininum wage is the same everywhere in Romania and lots of Bucharest inhabitants earn 300-350-400 dollars a month …
      Me, for example, i earn about 700 dollars a month in Bucharest and, after putting away all the recurring payments like mortgage, living costs, internet, phone bills etc, i end up with about 150 - maybe 200 dollars. For a whole month. That is less than 10 dollars a day …From those 200 dollars, i have to get food, i have to maintain a decent look, to dress decently, to be able to go for a walk and grab a beer or a pizza from time to time (after all we can not live to only pay bills, we have to feel alive…)… unfortunatelly, in Romania we pay the same as the western europeans for food and clothes, but the wages are 5-6-10 times smaller … it is true that mortgage, internet and other things that you “choose” are way more expensive in the eest, but still …
      So, i can call myself lucky for earning double the minimum wage and i still can’t afford to go to a one-day trip outside Bucharest once a month without having to cut lots of other expenses …

    • @costinhalaicu2746
      @costinhalaicu2746 3 года назад +1

      @@Salajanywood Yes, the minimum wage is really poor and should improve. Can't make a good living out of that for sure. But when they're talking about how "most people" live, they are talking about an average, even though there is a caveat that average wages are also deceitful in certain situations, and the average wage in Bucharest is above 1000 euro / month, and there is also a fairly sizable portion of people making north of that, hence the term "average", in the same way there is a sizable portion making less.

    5 out 10 for entertainment? no good malls and cinema? wtf? stop visiting just 2 places in bucuresti! there is more to the city then piata romana and unirii and old town... and we have some sick night clubs! i would have to rate your video 3 out 10... Bucuresti is not just old town... is so much more...no rice and no beans? you would struggle to find a house without rice and beans in their pantry! we are pretty famous for bean stew in a bred bowl and sarmale that are made with rice...

    Omg .The minimum wage is 400-500$and from here cutting the tax paid montly 45%left only 200-250$ and buy something the TVA its 19% so counting again the salary is you will get only 180-230$ montly so the food is more expensive than in London in most places.Well im living in England and im from Romania.The only things are most cheaper are the rents and buy a house or a land.Compared with england witch the life is 15x better here ,the only thing in Romania its the quality food you can get compared with England witch is fully chemicals.
