- How to connect 2 Downspouts into ONE Main Line
This is a perfect example of two downspouts wyed together with nice slope on the system. The catch basins are at the perfect distance off the house. Right away we're going to be dumping shingle gravel off the roof. It falls out of the downspout into our FDM's Not Quite a 90 which is ramped and set with a lot of slope. We want to get all that shingle gravel to the inline sediment trap. Now we can run this line as far as we want because we know that we have no contamination in the system.

How to connect 2 Downspouts into ONE Main Line

Very impressive. Your products look awesome
Thank you
Robert, do you ever tie a sump pump discharge line into a downspout system like this?
I typically try to keep them separate so that you don't overwhelm the pipe when you do need that sump pump discharging.
2 for the price of one. Dig one trench and put 2 pipes in it. Make the most of your sweat equity.
@@FRENCHDRAINMAN Thank you for the reply!
Thanks for asking. This was a question I had also!
How about connecting down spout to French drain. Thought I seen a video with it but not sure
It's a terrible idea. Fills you perforated pipe with debris and plugs the perforations.
Don't do it.
It would be great if you mentioned what size roof these 3" drains are handling. I have personally seen rains heavy enough that the pop-up emitters blew off of 4" pipe and there was an actual geyser shooting up from the 4" pipe.
You should stick with 4" and consider not running them together
Hi Robert. First off, thank you for all the education. I have been glued to your videos this weekend. Question: In some of your videos I see tie-in of surface drains into the same downspout drains. Can I tie-in 2 downspouts as well as 1 or 2 surface grates into the same 3" pipe or would you go 4" in that case? Also, I see a frenchdrainman in Canada and wanted to make sure they are associated with you? Thanks! - Steve in Ottawa
Yes, French Drain Man Canada is a wonderful distributor. Mike has done an amazing job. I would go with 4 inches if you are tying in surface drains.
I just bought 4 of these kits but now realized that i want to t 2 together. Is the 3 inch y fitting special for this plus size pipe? Do you sell it?

How deep is the frost line in Michigan? I'm in Wyoming. I don't know if I can go deep enough to keep from freezing. Will I have to use heat trace regardless? Also, is this new kit as good as the blue stuff you sell? I don't want to install this and have it crack in a couple of years. Thanks!!!
I believe depth doesnt matter as long as its pitched well enough that no water stays inside in winter to freeze. Someone correct if im wrong.
@@latinoluis1 makes sense to me! The whole point is to get the water away from the house. There is an insignificant amount of water that would be held in an individual rib of the corrugated pipe. Then the water gets to the pop-up emitter and either comes out to the surface or will disperse into the subsoil. If there are holes in the bottom of the pop up, emitter

What are your thoughts on connecting 3 downspouts to just one 3 inch line? Or is the limit only 2 downspouts for one 3 inch line?
If you connect three downspouts to a three-inch line, that would be a liability. You can put two downspouts together if it's on a two by three downspout. If it's on a three by four downspout, just run each one separately. These are the guidelines that we install by.
Can I connect 5 gutters to 1 line out to the yard like a leaching line?
Need 4" main line
How deep is your corrugated for the NE region where there is thaw and freeze cycles?
If you build your drainage system correctly, you shouldn't have to worry about the water freezing because no water should be left in the line. We are shallow. It's not realistic to get below the frost unless you're going to a city storm drain or you're going to run it to a pump station.
@FRENCHDRAINMAN Awesome product, designed and engineered very well. I got some projects in the future, and I will invest in these products. I have a bigger problem to tackle first. Slow moving water to drywell in front of the house. I'm guessing sediment clog.
Is the pro series being sold online?
Yes.

What's the difference in pipe - high octane blue vs the white pro in the kits? Is the white just easier to work with as a diy-er?
@@jfischer5392 good question I’d also be interested
I desperately need this installed in my yard. Do you have anyone in the 63034 area that could install this?

Why the 4 inch riser? Why not make a leaf guard that connects to a 3 inch riser and 90?
Yes, we have that, too

@@FRENCHDRAINMAN you’re website link says “This has a 4″ 90 degree elbow for easy cleanout. If you need a riser, you will need a 4″ Riser.”
Again, highly interested in not mixing 4” parts (riser and elbow) with a fully 3” system.
What the use of a pop up. Is it because you cant get the flow to the road? How many " or ' u start to continue a down slop with 3" piping?
