    Thank you for sharing. Can this go in the sump instead of the display tank? Thanks!

    You performed the ONE correct thing that most hobbyists DONT do-I.D. the type of Dino you have! Thats step one. Step two is matching the wattage to the water volume of the tank. Step three is FLOW. Not enough or too much and the UV wont be effective. Dont ask me how I know.....lol

      Haha thanks! Those are definitely keys to beating dinos. But have to admit I could have done those things much earlier and probably would have saved some corals.

    I have the Green Killing thing in my tank for the last 5 day and there is absolutely NO difference! The problem is that there is no way to check if the UV light is actually working although it is circulating the water OK. Its going back for a refund. I am very dissapointed.

      Sorry to hear that. I definitely was worried about that. It’s why I bought it at Petco for easy return if it did nothing. Fortunately for me I saw observable difference within a few days. Maybe do an exchange? I’ve heard anecdotes from other reefers having success with the Green Killing machine. Also, not sure which model you got or size of your tank, but I’d lean towards the higher power version. Anyway I wish you luck and pls let us know what eventually works for you.

      @@jon-jamesdougherty9982 Hi guys. I also have the green killing machine (9 watts) in my tank for a few days. But no result. What was your solution to the problem now?

    not looking to fight dinos with it just cloudly water its very slightly cloudy and has been for a month. you think your water was any clearer i can't tell from the video coz my water isn't cloudy with lights on(only on while testing the new leds that arrived) with lights off which is always rn coz i'm running a 4+ months lightless cycle its cloudy

    • @skippersreef4009
      @skippersreef4009  3 года назад +1

      I wouldn’t say it made my water clearer. I think it really depends on why your water is cloudy. I’d try to figure out what is causing your water to be cloudy.

      YES IT WILL MAKE YOUR WATER WAY CLEARER , I ALSO USE IT FOR MY KOI POND TO KILL OF FREE SWIMMING ALGAE (GREEN WATER) AND IT ALSO KILL ANYTHING LIKE THE ICK WHEN IT ON IT FREE SWIMMING STAGE GET A 30 WATT YOU COULD DO MORE GPH ON IT 8 WATT YOU HAVE TO MAKE THE WATER LIKE 200GPH

      @@junito1957 it cleared up my water no doubt. thanks for the input. i don't buy into its ich treatment capabilities as it simply makes no sense but thats no biggy.
      i also got an ich outbreak during this month so yes theres more proof of the uv not preventing ich as that is what i'm treating currently

    DUDE YOU LEAVE YOUR UV LIGHT IN YOUR SUMP I DONT KNOW WHY YOU PUT IT ON YOUR MAIN TANK

    • @skippersreef4009
      @skippersreef4009  2 года назад

      When dinos are really bad heard to put it in your display for max effectiveness. Now that it’s under control, it’s in the sump.
