I have 20 books checked out on my KU all the time 🤣. It's actually a problem because I'll start a series and find out I need to return something if I want to start the next one in the series. Thanks for giving me the heads up that "The One" is back in KU, I didn't check it out in time when it was available last year. And I snatched Lore up last week so it's def on my TBR As for other KU surprises: a lot of Leigh Bardugo's catalog is on KU and V.E. Schwab. I'm reading "A Psalm for the Wild Built" by Becky Chambers and it's amazing, highly recommend it as an up beat scifi falls into the solar punk or cozy fantasy genre.
Ooh great recs! Hey the benefit of being maxed out is that it forces you to prioritize the reads! I have some that have been checked out of a year and I constantly tell myself "meh I will get to it at some point"
I know exactly what you mean about a mental TBR. I scan through the catalog and I am like "oh yeah I wanted to read that!" It is great you loaded up the Kindle - now you will have lots of choices!

@JAK and the Book Stack I mostly read paranormal, baking, and bookshop ones. What kind do you like? I did read a novella holiday series one by Tonya Kappes that was good. It's starts with St. Patrick Day then goes to Mother's Day, Halloween, New Years, and Easter. A 4th of July one comes out in June.
