Predictably Irrational would probably be illuminating for me. The chapter title "why options distract us from our main objective" is already insightful just knowing that's the case! My husband read another Tony Robbins book on money and retirement that affected so many choices we've made with investments in recent years. I think Unshakeable is more recent and now I'm curious about it. Speaking of my husband, I often tease him that he is Michael Pollan. They kind of look alike and have very similar food philosophies. Haha! Great video!
Yes!! I think I know the Robbins book you’re talked about- it is more detailed of HOW and Unshakable is a summary and WHY. I think you’d like Predictably Irrational as well! I have never heard of Pollan outside of this book so I’m intrigued
I love nonfiction! I read different genres within it but memoir is my favourite. Educated is waiting for me on my shelf and I am looking forward to reading it at some point. I loved susan cain tedx talk on the subject of the power of introverts and since then I have been meaning to read quiet. I am really looking forward to it as well. It's on my shelf. After loving her body and other parties I so want to read in the dream house as well. Hope you can get to all of those on your tbr too.
I am really really excited about watching this video as i am excited for some non fiction selected books 📚 as i need some to read books love you and your amazing channel please stay safe and enjoy your reading love your family friend John prayers and thoughts for you and your family ❤❤❤
I’m a big fat introvert but I come across as an extrovert because I talk to people all the time. I hate public speaking though haha. I am a big introvert, people scare me but I just pretend they don’t 🤣 Quiet has been on my TBR for ages, I’ll definitely pick it up now!
Educated it SO GOOD! It’s crazy how much that memoir reads like fiction, as you mentioned. I hope Westover writes more books - I’ll eat them up. I definitely need to re-read Quiet at some point; I felt like it was fine, but as an extreme introvert, I don’t know that I got as much out of it as I should have. I haven’t read any of the books on your non-fiction tbr yet, so looking forward to your thoughts on them.
I can’t believe you did not get a lot put of Quiet! It helped me understand myself so much….but maybe you just know who you are so you were like “duh I could have to.d you that Susan Cain”
Wow there was a lot to discuss there, I will say that the more people talk against a book, the more likely I am to read it LOL 😆😸 and I don't think I'm alone, so I'm not sure what Edwards is accomplishing by attacking a book like "Power." Dismissing it as dull and silly would have more effect!

I cannot wait to see your review of Educated when you get to it - it is SO good and really opened my mind
Love seeing Poillan on your list!

We sound the same! You might get a lot out of Quiet, like I did. I learned so much about myself.
@@JAKandtheBookStack I’m going to move it up the TBR!

It’s so funny that two of my favorites came from your book club - I need you to find me more suggestions!

Well then I REALLY hope you read 48 Laws of Power and tell me what you think!
For non fiction, i tend to read alot of physics and philosophy
I love philosophy, psychics makes my brain hurt!
Booo I hate it when reviewers go beyond just commenting on the book itself and come for people who find some kind of value in a certain book.
Me too, there are so many perspectives that can get value from things
