An iv can hurt after the initial prick and sadly that possibility is higher in children because of their tiny limbs and veins. But, the suffering is probably meant towards the whole ordeal, not just being stuck by a needle. I've had to hold my babies down countless times while they were being anesthetized and it is one of the most difficult things to do as a parent. Especially when their child is too young to understand what is happening. It broke my heart as well to see her get emotional, wouldnt wish that on even my worst enemy.

Depends on the viewpoint I guess. There is a difference between "worst enemy" and a vile specimen deserving of cruelty and/or death. It takes a bit more for me to deem someone I dislike as deserving of death or harm. What that mother has endured is a level of terror and helplessness that most people couldnt even comprehend.

In Saudi Arabia these type of surgeries very common and pretty advanced. The surgeon’s name is Abdullah Al Rabeeah. I hope the family can get in touch with him or his clinic. The Saudi embassy might be able to help them.

Leave the arm? 100% chance of paralysis. Do the surgery? Also a similar risk of paralysis, but couldn't you say you at least tried?
