It's ridiculous that for a short guy like me, this is pretty much necessary if I want to achieve certain goals in life. Such as starting a family, a good one, which starts with a good woman. And your chances in dating are cut outrageously when you're 5'5 like me

People need to understand that breaking a bone from an injury is not the same as a surgically controlled break. The former has a lot of other trauma associated with it that can make the pain excruciating (like damaged nerves). The nerves in our limbs are physiologically inclined to extend which is how we grow taller during puberty. The operation keeps a majority of the nerves intact and slowly stretches the broken bone. If you can afford to get it done from an experienced physician, this procedure isn't unreasonable at all.
Follow the channel ‘break my legs’ almost three years post op and he still hasnt gained near 100% of his mobility back. You can still see the akwardness in his movements. I pray that he fully recovers. But anybody saying that you get your full mobility and power back after just one year is lying to you! Almost three whole years and this guy still cant even squat a mild load even paralell, letalone ass to grass. Or even run with a normal gait. I hope he gets his full mobility back. But sheesh, think extremely carefully before you even try something like this. Experienced physician or not.

How’s the recovery been for the surgery? I was thinking of going to livelifetaller for it but I’m still doing some research.
I mean, you could get the surgery twice, once on the femur and again on the tibia, for a total of 4 to 6 inches. As someone who's 5'7, being able to be 6 foot tall or higher would be absolutely life changing for me. Sure, it'll be a tough year of recovery, but what's one year compared to ending a lifetime of prejudice. Easy trade for me. If only I had that kind of money.
@@yamcha8309 Arms are generally long enough to reach the middle of the thigh. This is a general rule and not everyone hits that point naturally. Some have longer arms and some have shorter. @@darththork99 Being of average height or shorter doesn't make you instantly unattractive. There's women shorter than you who would go for you. It's rarer of a 160cm tall woman to go for a 200cm man, than to go for a little bit taller.
I clearly see the difference because my younger brother is 6' (I'm 5'8") and we are treated differently in groups. There's automatic respect that's given to him without him doing anything, whereas I'm ignored being the same way. Sometimes even disrespected. And that's the reality. Don't criticize this man, criticize the world that treats him differently based on his height.
It's not like he said one morning "I want to break my spine so that I can be taller" it's not that simple. He had his insecurities for a long time, we may point out whether he needs a psychs help or not, but not his procidure as 'unnecesary'
I don't think people realize how discriminatory people can be which is why cosmetic procedures like this seem insane from the the outside looking in. If we were honest with each other, we know why people like him do it and that people(even you) would treat him better for it.
I know that tall people commonly say that being shorter is better. But often they don't really know the burden behind the phrase being tall is not that "big of a deal" or "trust me you're fine". Sometimes the minor luxuries can be in essence the Merit of gold for others. People don't see the glaring views of society and in every moment for even something as trivial like the difficulty of shopping with the fear knowledge you will forever be judged and will degrade your self-esteem.
How I got here, I'm not sure. RUclips is a weird and wonderful thing but don't judge a short man's decisions if you're speaking as a 6ft 5 giant. A tall man will never know the inner pain of a short man.
I just watched a video of a little person who did this. She said it actually helped with some of her medical issues. She went from a little person to someone that was just a little short.
I also wouldn’t really accept a shorter guy than myself but I feel for them too. I had a guy who was way below my shoulder who was crazily interested in me that it became toxic and I felt he was just reaching too far as I was far taller than him and I’m only 5”7
This 6’5 guy calling this surgery “extreme” sounds like a self righteous prick. And the others were well within their right to call him on it. What may seem like a lot of money, time and pain all for a couple inches to a tall man may mean a whole world of difference to a shorter man. Especially since the taller man likely has never had to face the kind of discrimination that many shorter men endure on a daily basis. I respect how the patient kept his cool, because I swear I would have cursed Chad out. It’s people like him that don’t understand the chain of cause and effect. If people didn’t put tall men on a pedestal, surgeries like these wouldn’t be in such high demand.
@@stormrave5371 I mean i think the tall doctor was just trying to understand how he could go through such an extreme procedure because of the pain. But i see what you mean.
its not just because being self conscious. studies have proven that taller people get more promotions and are taken more seriously in life and at workplace. being tall can et you a long way in life. being 28 and 5'6 i get looked over all the time, literally.
All of these studies mean NOTHING for you on a Individual level. There are unsuccessful tall people, there are attractive bald men, there are homeless people with jawlines to be CEO-top-models, there are very successful short guys... The thing is if your insecurities push you to the point where you are willing to break your own legs and...let this sink in... RELEARN TO WALK there are deeper rooted issues than 2 Inches of height. There's no chance the exact same insecurities won't manifest somewhere else. Don't preach some studies you probably haven't even read to justify your sorrow. I think it's the same with male pattern baldness. Or straight white teeth, it's a dream of yourself and if people can change their face, or butt, then we should be able to change our height as well if it helps a man's self esteem.
5’3 and I feel your pain so much bro… I’m good looking and used to have so much confident but in USA it’s hard being that short. Even 5’6 would be a whole different world for me, working and saving up as we speak.
If women weren't so prejudice on men's height (which is uncontrollable by themselves), then such men wouldn't even consider the surgery. Even some jobs won't hire/promote you to upper management if you don't uphold an image of leadership and/or dominance. FACTS.
I'm not the shortest guy, but I think with advancement in medicine they'll be able to speed up recovery time, reduce costs and just make everything about this surgery better overall. When that time comes I'll probably do it

Everyone has their own perspective, there are shorter people who wants to get taller, there's taller people who actually want to be shorter for a few inches. And there's actually people who are very contented and confident with what they have, even knowing that they would not reach the height that they desire, they stay confident. You should be part of those people, height doesn't matter if you know yourself that you have the advantage in your own ways, if you know that you're better at them at some things, if you know that you're much more motivated and hardworking than them. Heights don't matter as long as you stay happy with what your life has given you.
I would love to be taller but wouldn’t want to go through this. They are right in considering that since he was unhappy with his height and had the means to get this done, then ultimately it’s his decision. Everyone in the world has insecurities. Everyone. No exceptions. But there are two types of people: - people who accept their insecurities and move on. - people who actually go out and DEAL with their insecurities I don’t understand why there is such a stigma against people who get this surgery. For years, us guys under 5’10 are told “worry about the things you CAN control.” Well now we CAN control this (assuming we have the money), but when people get the surgery, people say “aww but you were fine just the way you were.” They just don’t get it. If money was not an issue, I would do this in a heartbeat.

It’s worse being a short guy than a short girl. A girls height doesn’t matter to guys at all. I’m 5’6 but I had stunt my growth of my long bones pretty severely during my teenage years. I was supposed to grow at least a few more inches but I took accutane to cure my chronic cystic acne which was extremely painful. I use to wake up with a bloody face. The worst thing about that condition is it gets worse the longer you have it and less likely it is to be curable.
