Jonathan's story: Life-changing surgery for 3-yr-old Ugandan boy at U-M

- 3-year-old Jonathan was considered a “diseased child” in Uganda because of the grapefruit-sized tumor draped around his neck. He was isolated, couldn’t play with other kids or even go to school.
He traveled across the world to University of Michigan C.S. Mott Children's Hospital for a six-hour procedure to remove the tumor.

Thank you to the U of M Children's Hospital for helping this boy to have a much better chance of a better life in his community. The best was the reaction of his father's happiness and joy to see his son was better. It's so sad that people are still not educated enough to think that this was a communicable disease and would avoid contact with this boy.

He was so courageous , the doctors at Anarbor are the best . They gave Johnathan a better life to be normal . His father was so happy with joy to see his son without that tumor on his neck . There are many children with afflictions , and they are treated as outcasts . Bless Johnathan , his family and the doctors in Anarbor .

Unfortunately, many people here in the states suffer from the same kind of thing, not because of lack of technology, but because of lack of affordable health care... Everyone deserves basic health care!
Naomi, you are the miracle. If you had not seen him and gotten things going for Jonathan to have the mass removed, he may well have died. Thank you for your kindness and compassion for him and all of the other children you help get the care that they need.

There is no secret what my God can do-what He’s done for me, He’ll do for you! I had a mass on my neck, not nearly as large, but large enough to strike my 25 y.o. ego. Mine was cancerous, and I was given the summer to live if I didn’t begin treatment immediately. 7 years later, and I’m here, happy and healthy and I pray many more whole, healthy years for this sweet boy as well. The blood still works!

Deeds and stories like this go largely unnoticed because of the daily horrors happening around the world, it’s tragic when you consider what good the human race is capable of that evil prevails, you’d have to have a heart of stone not to be moved by this little boy’s story. 💙

if you need a specialist go to the u of m....my daughter went there for a liver specialist to look at it and got treated so well and the dr. was so nice....
