I saw a video of yours from 4 years ago on my "recommended" section. I've got to say, you've come a long way, baby. Keep up the good work. I enjoy your vids. 👋🏽 Hi! 😊
my weirdest plant is a pinguicula (grassette in French), it is a little carnivorous plant, it can help to trap fungus gnats on her sticky leaves and have also nice violet flowers, adorable little monster .....
Lovely Monstera, but according to the size of the mature leaves, I’d recommend to pot it up a size or even two. With Monstera, wrangling soil roots and air roots, it’s always good to keep an eye on the inside of the pot, if it looks like a pot of spaghetti…it’s overdue. Also, if the size is too small, the plant will restrict its size and leaf amount. Love your show
This video is soooo up my alley. Non-conventional houseplants are my absolute favorite! I always love your plant recommendations. Thank you for this video!
You are so much fun!! It always makes my day when I see that you have posted a new video! Thank you for sharing your knowledge. You have helped to become a good plant mommy!
Do you have an update on your piper crocatum? I got one yesterday and know you have/had one as well and I’d love to hear how it’s doing! (/thank you so much for all your videos- they are a joy to watch and learn from!)
I absolutely love walking sansevierias! They are so weird and that's something I can get behind. Weirdos! You are right about that one it is very pokey!
Ant plants! Myrmephytum selebicum -fun and easy to grow… and no unfortunately mine does not have any ants after a year 🪴🤣. Also recently got a lovely Drosera capensis, a sundew, cleared up my pesky fungus gnats in less than a week, yay! 🌱
Hey Nick! I just got some really cool Peperomia that I bet you'd like. Eburnea, Dragon Skin, Trinervis Bicolor, and Antoniana. You should check them out. You really got me into Peperomia collecting so I'm always looking for cool varieties! I hope I can find your weird Scandens someday!
Thank you!! I love weird plants! My faves are Pilea Hitchcockii, cyanosis aracnoides var. obtusa and my Piper Auritum (it’s HUGE with some leaves bigger than my head)
Remember when you did the video on the Pinguicula? I went online immediately and bought one, lol! It only had the one stem, but it's been under a grow light together with my Hoyas since I bought it and now it looks just like yours, it has a second plant which first grew out horizontally, then put out a 'leg' that has rooted into the soil. The stem from the mother plant and the root are still quite green, so clearly young, but I wouldn't separate them anyway, I think they look awesome together 😍 Thank you for introducing me to such a wonderful plant 🤩
Hi Nick! I love your Dischidia and snake plant. They're both so cool looking. It would be fun to find the green variegated monstera tucked into a pot. Thank you so much for sharing!
OMG 😂🎉 That was quite the Surprise! I absolutely love your videos! It was so fun to see Lithius the plant cop!! (I hope I didn’t misspell that, Roots Ready! You know I ❤ you!). Thanks for such a great video !!
What a fun topic! I'm so glad you brought up the Sansevieria samurai- the soil kind of washed away from the top of mine and I'm just calling it a pinguicula dupe nowadays. Does the pinguicula have orange roots too? That's my favorite part of the samurai.
I think my top 5 'weird' or 'odd' plants are: Pilea peperomiodies - mainly 'cuz as it's gotten older it's just growing very wonky Dragon Fruit cactus (Hylocereus megalanthus) - Grows extremely fast and just wants to go everywhere! Keep on a heavy trellis and outdoors for summer Peperomia liadensis (Velvet Tree) - I only see it for sell in Europe, and that's where I got mine, mail-order no less. Like a P. incana on steroids and bonus! It produces babies from the base of its trunk. Peperomia obtusifolia variegata - Mine is huge and actually 'trails' since it's so top heavy. I love it though! Thaumatophyllum spruceanum (Philo. goeldii) - It's like another 'schefflera' mimic.
Maybe since your Monsters is a tropical plant put it in a glazed pot, mine is in a glazed pot and is growing much better for me. Great content, love these!!!💚🌱🤗💚🌱 I think my weirdest plants are my carnivorous, pitcherplant, sundew, and of course Venus flytrap.
I have a similar sanseveria that I keep outside because it is so dangerous to people and pets! It is not exactly a ‘walking’ variety, but rather it sends out new plants like a spider plant does. The leaves are larger and darker and a bit rounder, and those spikes are so hard and sharp. I don’t know what it is called.
I love your weirdos! I have a jatropha podagrica, or "Buddha belly", that has very unusual bark. Also, I have albuca bracteata more commonly called "pregnant onion." I bought the mother plant in 1977 and have given away so many babies. I've never seen it in any plant or garden shops since I bought mine.
Hi Nick I think your Peperomia is a Peperomia Distichia [scandens] Crane's Flecked. They aren't super common. There are lots of Scandens but not these around. I love Dischidia and own several and have owned many before. My fav I own currently is Watermelon Dischidia just because it's so pretty when sun stressed & the leaves are super beefy & heavy. It drapes gorgeously. Yours is very cool! I think Ceropegia woodii are also unusual and the flowers are so strange. Love mine. 🫶💚🪴🌵🌿☘️🌱🍃🪷
I just ordered my weirdest plant yet. It is a Seidenfadenia Mitrata (formerly classified as an Aerides). It is a very strange orchid that is supposed to take the same care as a Vanda. We'll see, I'm scared and excited. Also, do you have any Aeschynanthus in your collection? I don't see those plants in videos usually. They're pretty similar to hoyas.
I love Dischidia, I have a pectionoides type B, I really wanted the A type with the balloonlike leaves, but allas it has been out of stock for a long time. I als have a ruscifolia albomarginata. The pectinoides flowers for me every year. If you like weird plants, you should try Lithops, they look like living rocks. Such a cool genus, and really easy to look after.
my weird plant is the dead stick aka EUPHORBIA PLATYCLADA..love the pink stick when it get good sunlight and those tiny yellow blooms that you cant hardly see but is there...Im good at looking at them now....that walking cactus looks cool in your collection.....keep an eye on it is will def walk futher...lol.....Always enjoy ur videos NIck
I love weird plants! At the moment my weirdest would probably be my euphorbia platyclada but I just ordered a cynanchum marnierianum and a ceropegia bosseri last week, can’t wait for them to arrive. Love my leafy greens but also love a plant that makes people say “what is that??”
I have a lot of sansevieria collection and there's a lot of weird looking varieties out there. Look for sansevieria rorida ( my favorite) sansevieria balyii, sansevieria patens and many more. 😊.
I’m confused…I thought monstera variegation couldn’t come from seeds? If I can buy variegated monstera seeds that would be rad. I thought someone on eBay was a scammer but maybe not?
Variegated monstera do come from seed, but it's like 1 from a million. Like winning the lottery. Variegated seeds generally won't produce Variegated plants. It's a gamble
I agree, always thought it was kind of ridiculous to quote one’s “success” as an hourly wage, or even justify taking a trip because it’ll equate to XYZ dollars per hour. In the latter situation, that’s assuming you got back to back orders with exactly the same metrics as the first trip you took, which we all know is not the case. And in the former, unless you’re in CA and getting a decent prop 22 payment, and maybe a few other major markets, saying you’re consistently making that hourly is pretty unfathomable because there are ALWAYS going to be down times. Of course, if you’re averaging all your earnings across a certain period it might equate to that, but no, that’s not you’re hourly wage. As far as having a W2 and also doing this, I especially never considered the gig work on an hourjy basis, I’ve always gone by what you said - I have four hours free to deliver, let’s see how much I make. I might set a goal of say $100 in that 4h, but it’s not that I’m saying I wanted to go out and try to make $25/h
I saw a video of yours from 4 years ago on my "recommended" section. I've got to say, you've come a long way, baby. Keep up the good work. I enjoy your vids. 👋🏽 Hi! 😊
Always a good day when Nick uploads
So true!!!!
This is so sweet😢
my weirdest plant is a pinguicula (grassette in French), it is a little carnivorous plant, it can help to trap fungus gnats on her sticky leaves and have also nice violet flowers, adorable little monster .....
Thanks for adding the French name ! As a French person I had no idea what it was called....
Très spécifique mais tu as aidé quelqu'un ! xD
i found a monstera pot with a plant with light cream speckles and i am so excited for its next leaf coming out
Lovely Monstera, but according to the size of the mature leaves, I’d recommend to pot it up a size or even two. With Monstera, wrangling soil roots and air roots, it’s always good to keep an eye on the inside of the pot, if it looks like a pot of spaghetti…it’s overdue. Always love it when I see a Nick video pop up! Always fun to watch!
Just what I needed - a new video from you Nick. Hope you have a great week 😊☀️
Do you have an update on your piper crocatum? I got one yesterday and know you have/had one as well and I’d love to hear how it’s doing! (/thank you so much for all your videos- they are a joy to watch and learn from!)
I’m crying😂 Nick scared himself, talking about the sharp tips.
I absolutely love walking sansevierias! They are so weird and that's something I can get behind. Weirdos! You are right about that one it is very pokey!

YEEEES! Thank you for reading and making a video about my vague suggestion
you remind me so much of my younger brother. he lives across the country and i miss him!!

Happy Friday to me!! Always a good day when we get a new nick video ❤ hope you’re well!
What a fun topic!
I'm so glad you brought up the Sansevieria samurai- the soil kind of washed away from the top of mine and I'm just calling it a pinguicula dupe nowadays. Does the pinguicula have orange roots too? That's my favorite part of the samurai.
My weirdest plant is Alocasia plumbae (flying squid). That green variegated Monstera is gorgeous!
That pinguicula is So. COOL! Ive never seen one, gotta have!
I think my top 5 'weird' or 'odd' plants are:
Pilea peperomiodies - mainly 'cuz as it's gotten older it's just growing very wonky

Thaumatophyllum spruceanum (Philo. goeldii) - It's like another 'schefflera' mimic.
I have three Dischidia in my collection and am going to put that one on my wishlist for sure. I also have the Hoya Wentii and see the resemblance.
Thank you so much for sharing your wonderful house plant collection beautiful as always
A weird one that I rarely see on the internet is the philo squam blood.
My dischidia will still look good & my Hoya will start getting wrinkles when I go to water them 😅
Love your plants! 💚
My favorite one is your dischidia. You collect pepperomia and I collect hoyas and dischidias. Would love to see a video on your hoya collection
I love your weirdos! I have a jatropha podagrica, or "Buddha belly", that has very unusual bark. Also, I have albuca bracteata more commonly called "pregnant onion." 1:00 the green monstera ive usually seen sold as Marmorata, though im not sure if thats offifcial or not
I’ve also heard it called “green on green” haha.. pretty original
Hi Nick I think your Peperomia is a Peperomia Distichia [scandens] Crane's Flecked. They aren't super common. There are lots of Scandens but not these around.

I have a Cynanchum marnierianum “Bundle of sticks”. My daughter calls it my “dead sticks” plant 😂
There is also a philodendron that looks like syngonium, philodendron tripartitum
Always love your videos, Nick, even though I'm probably not going to go out in search of any of these plants
I love Dischidia, I have a pectionoides type B, I really wanted the A type with the balloonlike leaves, but allas it has been out of stock for a long time. I als have a ruscifolia albomarginata. Can we see an update on your pepperomia kimnachii, mine grows sooo sloow
My weirdest plant is my Madagascar. It looks like a skeletons chew sticks with tiny leaves 😂
I bent over my ping and the point got my forehead. It made a hole that bled. I moved it to the back so I don’t have to bend over it anymore.
Great video. Loved your choices of weird plants.
my weird plant is the dead stick aka EUPHORBIA PLATYCLADA..love the pink stick when it get good sunlight and those tiny yellow blooms that you cant hardly see but is there...Im good at looking at them now....that walking cactus looks cool in your collection.....keep an eye on it is will def walk futher...lol.....Always enjoy ur videos NIck
I love my platyclada, definitely a weird plant. I’ve had mine for about 9 months now and it’s really grown we’ll!
@@stacey8073 I had mine fir a few years n it kept getting taller. I nip a few pcs to see if i can propagate more..🤞🤞❤️ they r def weird🤪
I agree! That was one of mine that probably could have been on my list!
I have been in this whole houseplant game thing for around one year now and I have never seen a peperomia scandens 😅
I love weird plants! At the moment my weirdest would probably be my euphorbia platyclada but I just ordered a cynanchum marnierianum and a ceropegia bosseri last week, can’t wait for them to arrive. Love my leafy greens but also love a plant that makes people say “what is that??”
I was thinking of cynanchums when I saw the suggestion for this video but I don’t grow any! They’re so weird for sure
I like this this is a different video from others ''weird plants''
I have a lot of sansevieria collection and there's a lot of weird looking varieties out there. Look for sansevieria rorida ( my favorite) sansevieria balyii, sansevieria patens and many more. 😊.
I need a pinguicula😮- I will be looking tonight!
Great content as always, thx Nic 😊
Nick you can cut the pointing sharp , I see it in gardens with the tequila plants
That Monstera is gorgeous!
It's my beautiful pal Nick!! I'm addicted to your content.❤
My monstera has a little leaf growing at the base that has a splash of light green on it and I was wondering what it was, maybe I have one like yours
I think the name of your beautiful monstera is "Monstera deliciosa 'Aurea' variegata"
All cute!
💚🌵🌱☘️💚
My weirdest plants are my lithops and my oxalis palmifrons.
I think my mountain aloe is weird as hell, it looks carnivorous
Love dischidias!
the green variegatet one could be called mint but i am not sure
People need to sell weird plants too,not just selling rare plants😅
Hello from Chicago Illinois 😊
Bro got a hoya growing out of bark calling it desquidia😹😹😹 jk
Looks similar to a Monstera aurea
My walking cactus is so much darker than yours 🤔
I live in Ohio Sun is in May up here full would it be good to grow it
I think the Monstera is “Aurea Variegata”
Aurea is usually yellow variegation I think?
@@Anni-Ka93 ya I think you are correct….I checked again …I can’t find this light green one….
My weirdest plant is definitely my begonia ferox
I paid 85 for my plain monstera about 3 years ago. Laughable now. 😢
Mother of millions is the freakiest plant. I had one and I had to get rid of it because it gave me the creeps.
Put the monstera in a bigger pot and see if it takes off. My regular one is in a large pot and that thing is ridiculous
💚
team dischidia
Bunga yank cakep
❤

Riiight..... Ok, I can't decide if this comment was mistakenly made on the wrong video, or if you're spamming Nick's viewers.
You kinda lost me after pulling a Monstera D as a weird plant 😬 even a variegated one is pretty common to see in the plant community
