      Where do you live? It sounds like you are doing everything right! Spanish Moss especially likes plenty of air circulation.

    How do you prevent root rot?

    • @AirPlantShop
      @AirPlantShop  3 месяца назад +1

      Root rot aka base rot is typically caused by overwatering and/or not letting the plant dry completely after watering (aka not proper air circulation). Hope this helps!

    I accidentally tugged out the ionantha’s centre leaves with abit of force, does it mean the airplant is not healthy? Can it still survive?

      If it was a gentle tug, that typically is a sign of base rot or severe dehydration. Most likely it will not survive but you could keep caring for it out of an abundance of caution and see what happens. Good luck!

    Why do they get root rot?

    • @AirPlantShop
      @AirPlantShop  3 месяца назад

      It is often due to poor air circulation! Air plants do not like being damp or wet for an extended period of time. Hope this helps!

    I hv a blue airplane & domeone said to soak it & then it was in a hot inclosed space. It shrank into it self, i thought it got too dry. Now it's falling apart. 😭

      So sorry to hear! Tillandsia should never be in an enclosed place. They need plenty of air circulation so they don't stay damp which can cause rot in the base. Check out our other care videos to learn how to take care of your future air plants!

    Are there any ways to save a dying plant aside from monthly fertilizer?

    • @AirPlantShop
      @AirPlantShop  4 месяца назад +1

      That's a hard question! We'd say if the plant seems to be dying, it is likely due to care thus we'd recommend adjusting your care routine based on the declining plants symptoms. For example, if the leaves are curling in, it needs more water, etc. Often the issue is lack of daily indirect light. Hope this helps!
