Currently have Wildpeak AT3's on the 4Runner. They will need replacing sooner than later. I was going to get the AT4's based on the performance of the 3's. After I saw TFL's video, I took the AT4's out of contention. There have been more than a few videos contradicting TFL's snow test results, and this video is showing exactly the conditions I am most concerned about. Thanks for the ride along.
@@st6795 we drive though that willingly to find the best snow. We had to come home in it for work monday morning. Worth it lol. Thanks for your kind words i appreciate all of you.
I juat drove down to NC mysrlf through the snow most of the way. Even got snow in Charlotte and into SC. Good video. We gotta do a collab sonetime man I think our channels subs would crossover nicely. I dont know if youd have any interest but we could set up something podcast style right on YT
Even after watching the TFL video I still bought the Falken A/T4w’s for my Ram 2500. I didn’t believe the stopping distance could have been that bad vs the K03 and the Firestones. It just didn’t seem quite right. There’s to many variables involved in a test like that.
@ I in in Texas with nowhere near the winder weather you guys go through but it’s videos like yours that convinced me that they were the correct choice. But I am planning some trips up into Colorado and Wyoming and I wanted to make sure I had my names covered. 👍
I thought that TFL snow braking test on the AT4W smelt very fishy as well. I have the AT4Ws as well and they are very wrong. I have seen numerous videos now including yous since then that show the AT4W as very good in winter conditions including braking . They should come out with an apology. They likely hurt some Falcon business on AT4Ws. Hopefully now that there are many reviews including yours which entirely show TFL right out to lunch on this that it hurts their reputation significantly. If you look at the current Tire Rack reviews on the AT4W they are top 2 in the category along with K03s including winter/snow performance where they are currently at a 8.9 excellent rating in winter snow/snow performance
Agreed. They dropped the ball on that one a bit however I'm sure it wasn't intentional. I think it was just a weight rating vs weight of the jeep issue.
@@AllAmericanAutomotive you have a good point. I heard about their error putting the LT version on a light jeep but that break test failed way more than that would have caused.very unrealistic. Still say its very fishy and they should apologize and correct it and retest
@@jimclark5121I think it was a combination of the weight and stiffness of the tire throwing the ABS out of wack I agree they should do a retest and address this
I really dont think TFL creates great content. it's often incomplete testing or heavily biased. I used to watch a lot of their videos but I dont like most of what they say
@@josephdemarco1469 i used to really enjoy the gold mine hill videos. It was unscientific but it was fun seeing the vehicles just put up or shut up. I enjoyed that. And im all for applying science to entertainment videos but we have to be careful when applying Science to make sure its sound and repeatable testing and make sure we arent misleading or promoting. The results should always speak for themselves.
