You are one of my favorite creators ever. I'm a 62 year old retired Accountant in the Southern US. I rarely comment but tonight I just wanted to show you some love.
sums up humanity pretty well, plenty of people hearing a woman screaming "help me" and then after she is murdered they are so kind, polite and helpful to the police, makes me sick.
THIS! Right?! She literally was outside having a cigarette with a whole house full of people that could have went with her to help Joanna. 😒 Humanity at it’s finest!
It’s the bystander affect. Unfortunately it happens a lot
@@makaylaminick3317is it not the bystander effect?
this situation reminds mee of the movie 'run, sweetheart, run' 😮😅😳
Apparently people are more likely to help if you scream “fire”
A week of hell? He killed their daughter after an HOUR or sexual assault and beatings. Hes given her parents a life sentence of pain and grief.
I remember this case SO well. My uncle is an architect in Bristol and I asked him how it affected that community, to this day he gets teary and said that it devastated them.
It's really frightening how often there are multiple witnesses who hear someone screaming for help but don't do anything about it. Even if you don't want to go check it out yourself, at least call the police to have them check it out.
It's easy to say that when you're not in the situation.
It’s why you should always shout “fire” people are more likely to come to your aid which is such a shame 😞
@@jenellenelson4447 as somebody who's been in situations where others needed help and where I needed help, let me tell you - it absolutely is your responsibility to get help for somebody seemingly struggling and not be a bystander. It's not easy to witness something bad, but we need to look out for others. One day, you might need other people's help as well...
And if you're really scared and don't know what to do, the least you can and have to do is call for help e.g. the police
As someone who grew up near a park in London filled with foxes, I would just assume that the screams were them. Or I would assume that someone is having way too much fun on a Friday night. I would probably have to hear LOADS of screaming or screaming accompanied by thuds or blatant words like "Help me!" or something else that really alarmed me. But I don't know. I see what you mean tho.
@jenellenelson4447 🤔 I'm assuming we're talking about the witness/bystander viewpoint. I very easily and immediately call the police when I see or hear trouble.
Good to see you, Bella!
People, please! If you hear someone screaming for help, DO SOMETHING!
10 to 2 🤔😤🤦♂️
Yes, please call the police😪
Very off topic, but Bella's complexion is a 10/10 in this video. Maybe the lighting is helping, but for being sick, her skin looks absolutely flawless and glowing!! Skin care goals!
Yes! Her eyes look beaut too
I remember Joanna's disappearance being all over the news. I was only 14 but I remember hoping so badly that she was found safe.. and then they found her body. I was so sad. Her killer should never ever be freed. He will kill again given the chance. RIP Joanna ❤️
@BurnItUpp2009 he's a weak looking, bumbling idiot... he'll try the wrong 1 and get SLUMPED. There's ALWAYS a bigger, badder Wolf JUST around the corner, homie😒💯💯💯💪🏾🧔🏾♂️
Hi, in my hometown of Johnstown NY a woman went missing suddenly after work. Her name is Kellisue Ackernecht. Her disappearance remains unsolved with no real leads so most of what is on the internet is speculation but the details of how her car was found is extremely eerie. Her daughter still has no idea what has happened to her mother, she is now in her mid twenties and last saw her mother when she was just a small child. It would be amazing for you to cover this case as it is so close to home for so many people in my small hometown.
I hope she sees this and covers it!
At first I thought it had to be Greg. So weird he didn’t call ANYONE all weekend after never getting a hold of her. There is no way my husband would let me get away with that. We’re too aware of how this world works.
I know, “You don’t know how you’d act” is true, but guys... Protect your people!
His pictures obviously look pained and I’m sure he has a lot of regrets.
It’s just so sad that she was minding her own business at home, already having anxiety about being alone over the weekend. Rip, J 🖤
Your aware of how the world works because your living in the year 2024 were you can do a quick research and know how horrible this world can get. This is 2010 and people’s last thought are that there family member is dead. Everyone is not gonna react the same and I personally would be in denial if someone that I wanted to spend the rest of my life with is gone.
@@Taliyahshiioh man, you must be forgetting CourtTV in the 90s, my friend ☺️
@@Taliyahshii I think you’re forgetting about 90s CourtTv, my friend. No internet necessary. Also don’t underestimate peoples’ life experience. You never know who you’re talking to on the internet :)
Hi Bella! I just wanted to tell you that I really love you and your videos. The way you talk about these cases makes them even more interesting !
And one request, could you please cover these cases from India:
- Geeta and Sanjay Chopra kidnapping case
- The Nirbhaya Case
- The Tandoor Murder Case
Sending lots of love to you and your family ❤️
also the burari house case
Woah, I vaguely remember this case from scanning through news websites back when it happened but the way I remembered it, the former school teacher/landlord was the killer! I'm so glad I watched this and now know he's innocent. It just goes to show that by media putting his name and information out there like that can cause confusion amongst the public and tarnish someone's reputation for decades.
retired schoolteacher/landlord was only arrested because he was “eccentric.” he was NOT the killer. he was harassed
Or cause them to become a victim bc vigilantes run up on them to avenge the original victim 😒😒😒
Look into the case of Bianca Brust and/or the Gabriel Kuhn/Daniel Petry case! Both are crazy stories and sadly so morbid! Also, so glad to have you back!! It's not spooky season with no Bella! ♡
I will never understand how people hear people scream for help and they just shrug it off and go on about their night??
u might have mold!!! get your place checked!
Yeh that can really fk up ones immune system and it can get that bad that in some cases I’ve heard of it can be fatal 🙁
So happy to see you. Family is important so is your health. Those take priority always. Glad you're back!
as someone who lives in bristol and has grown up here, it's absolutely terrifying that people like this could live down the street from me. rest in peace joanna, you didn't deserve any of this to happen to you and my heart goes out to her family and boyfriend x
Also from Bristol, I can’t believe I never heard of this story, truly devastating for Joanna 💔
This man should never be free. I can’t believe he only got 20 years. And 10 MONTHS for cp. disgusting.
glad you're back bella!! can you please cover the case of kendall francois? he was a serial killer but his murders went overlooked because he targeted sex workers
I went to university in UK to do Journalism degree and in my interview this was my example of a story that stuck out to me, in how the media badly portrayed someone who wasn't even convicted and made out to look like the killer purely based on his appearance and swayed a lot of the publics opinion towards that
SO HAPPY YOU ARE BACK!!! Glad you had a fun time with family though. We missed you! ❤
Ok but let's put crime on the side for a sec. Can I just say that this haircut.. Your skin. Eyebrows, eye look, all of this looks amazing!!!! Beautiful! Love from London x
@lfm67 she ALWAYS looks amazing... she's fk'ing beautiful tbh😉💯💯💯💪🏾🧔🏾♂️
So happy to see again! I’m glad you got to spend time with your family! ❤
so happy you are back! can you make a video on the Idaho case about the killer leaving one roommate alive?
Glad you had great time with your families. Great to see you again and thanks for this case.❤
Bella, there’s a documentary called Rewind about a very unique and shocking case of a family. I would really like to see you cover it, it’s such a powerful one.
Long time Bella. Happy to see you back on my feed ! ♥️
too long 😢 glad to be back, but really enjoyed the quality time with family!! 🤍🤍🤍
Finally! RUclips doesn't feel complete without you! I am so glad to see you here again!
Don't apologize. We will be here when you come back. Feel better soon ❤🙏🏼
❤hey Bella! Loved the video! Appreciate you pulling this off even in sickness😊 your content makes the mundane of our days really interesting!
Please do more cases from India ❤ like the burari deaths for instance !
Thanks!
please do a video with the case of Frauke Liebs!!! This case happened i think 2006 in Paderborn, Germany.
In Germany where i live, this is one of the most famous cases, which is not solved. Her disappearance was extremely sketchy, they found her body later. I think this case needs more attention!!!
This case happened on the road next to mine at the time - you covered this case amazingly x
Will you be filming anymore London content? Apartment tour/vlogs? Would love to see those types of videos along side the true crime ones 💛
NICE TO SEE YOU BACK I REMEMBER THIS CASE
there´s actually a movie about christopher jeffries!! it´s called The Lost Honour of Christopher Jeffries, really sad
as you’ve moved from a very sunny country, you body is probably lacking in vitamin D now. i’m from thailand and i was recommended to take vitamin D supplements when i got to the UK because of this
I love your long hair my girl! You may not feel the best but you sure are glowing, thanks for sharing this story. Congratulation on the big to move. I wish you well during the settle in to your new home.
How infuriating. Joanna was going to have a nice weekend in the house w a pizza and a movie maybe. Here this dude comes bugging. Unbelievable
I watch a lot of true crime and one of the things that baffles me is serving concurrent sentences. What is the point of going through the time and expense of a trial for the perpetrator to realistically get off and punishment ?
BELLA Where the hell have you been loca!? 😂
😂😂😂😂😂 omg
arizona, how you liking the rain girllll
Just wondering why does everyone call you loca ? Hahaha 🙂❤️
@@elizabethcarmona5038it’s a reference from Twilight!🥰
I bet he thought he was super clever telling the police he went out to take photos when he actually did take photos of her.
i’m so early and i just wanna let you know you’re my fav! keep it up girl 💕
🥹🤍
Hi Bella!! Great to see you ! Family is the most important. As is your health .
I’m sure her husband was in denial and was hoping she’ll just come back home, remember y’all ain’t feeling what he’s feeling because unlike y’all he knew her personally, he loved her, ain’t nobody trying to think that the love of there life is dead. I think he was trying to wait a little after 9 to see if she’d come home but then realization kicked in.
Love your mistery mondays, but could you start doing again some styling videos I really loves these ones too.
My grandma always taught me to scream fire instead of help because people are more likely to call the police that way
rest in peace Joanna 🙏🏾
Call me crazy, but I think dying screams sound different from partying shouts
Ur not crazy, I agree with you
Happy New Year's everyone!
He literally looks like a creep
bella! you should cover the recent idaho murders! very sad but very interesting. also, you’re the best!!
That case has been covered to death.
@@susivarga7303agreed. Those poor kids death has become a circus.
This Vincent guy is a disgusting individual for both killing Joanna and blaming it all on her landlord Chris and I hope he never gets out of prison.
Some cases I recommend you to cover are John Newman, Skylar Neese, Shanda Sharer, Jordan Davis and Stephen Lawrence.
hi bella! when i lived in the uk, i was also very sick. turns out, because of the rain and moisture, i was living with black mold! (behind my headboard, of all places). it may be worth it to check around your apartment. hope you feel better!
Honestly idk why she moved, Australia is so much better then England. The only good thing about moving here is that it's alot more connected to things happening but even that's not worth it.
she said she wanted to travel all around Europe and that would cost a lot so they moved to uk only for a few years ◡̈
@@amirrhodesve791 Why don’t you move there then? We have a lower cost of living, more greenery (thanks to all that rain!), more history, more culture, more things going on. Australia would bore me to death
@@ohwellwhateverr I mean there's a whole ass rain forest in Australia.... so there's alot to explore there.
31:10 he probably thought they might find his shoe prints or something, she had a separate hallway, so he didn’t have any business being there, probably tried to cover his tracks
Could you do a video on the murder case of Christie Wilson? It’s a great murder case about faith, love, and determination.
I still remember this case, stuck with me for a while as it wasn’t far from where I live, so sad 😞
Bella!! Missed you so much! Glad you’ve been busy and happy ❤
Why does the UK not impose life sentencing without the possibility of parole? I see this all the time in cases from the UK. And then moving him to a lower security prison??? I really hope someone out there can answer this. And Bella it's so wonderful to have you back! Sorry you have been sick. Hoping you are feeling better soon!❤
It just doesn’t seem to be a thing here. It does happen but it is rare. Life sentences without parole are called ‘whole life order’ here. Otherwise a perpetrator may get a life sentence with a minimum of… ( ).
I think alot of it has to do with the fact 1- we don’t have the space (earlier this year in fact judges were even told to hold off sentence hearings until more prisoners had been released as they were so full and understaffed). 2- for some odd reason there is this thing about rehabilitation even with the most violent of perpetrators and with very little help for rehabilitation inside!
Every western country and many others do not have vengeance as the rock their system is built on. We simply understand logic, research, proven methods, etc and if something continues to fail, we move forward and make changes. The US is THE OUTLIER in the world that still believes in punishment and harsh treatment. That is evident in their very high rates of recidivism. Whereas you look to the Nordic countries, whom you would assume the prisoners are living "too well", and their very low recidivism rates. Why would we want to go backwards?? Who wants to be known as the country with 25% of its own population in prison??
We do have it, it's just rare. It's called a whole life sentence. There's about 70 at the moment.
The UK does impose sentences without the possibility of parole but it's very rare. Most developed countries only use life without parole in the most extreme cases. As most prisoners everywhere in the world will eventually be released, progressive countries look to rehabilitate prisoners to reduce recidivism.
Even in the US, which has one of the most backward prison systems in the world, only around a third of murderers get life without parole.
@@Dee-JayW Your comment is disgusting. So a person's life, their torturing/killing is just a small obstacle to the poor criminal's future, right? Of course the sentence should also have a punishment component (call it vengeance if you wish), besides the most important one, keeping them closed to ensure the safety of the population. You're basically saying that the family and friends of the victims should accept that those people are dead and that the poor criminal made a smaaaall mistake and deserves to be forgiven?! The idea of rehabilitation can be applied for "unintentional" crimes, for thefts, other petty crimes, not for PREMEDITED murder. And if you want to compare the USA with other countries, you have to look at the level of education, attention to mental health, economic/social aspects (even the history of a country is important), the homogeneity of the population (or the lack of), the types of crimes you have in those countries, to understand why they treat criminals differently.
Bella you should do the case of Gene Thurnau and Bob Peterson! Crazy case!
I remember the murder of Joanna. I also remember the landlord being arrested, there was a right hullabaloo surrounding that, the press were hounding the poor innocent man day and night. Then of course it was discovered that it was another neighbour who had actually committed the murder, and of course eaten her pizza. Then calmly bought beer and crisps. A wicked pervert he was too. So sad, her life and her future taken from her so cruelly.
There’s a movie about this, for Chris Jeffries, and it is absolutely CRUSHING to watch and try to understand how that INNOCENT man must’ve felt….
Glad to see you back! We missed you!
So glad you are back!
22:02 ok what?? He heard a woman screaming "help me" and was like ... meh 🤷♀️
Welcome
Back! We missed you. ❤❤❤
When I first moved to London I was sick non stop for 9 months 😭 germy city
Omg I lived in Europe last year and I got sick SEVEN times in NINE months 😭 Apparently it's common bc the germs are different. I hope you don't get sick more!
I missed you and your videos s-o muuuuch, we need mooore 😭❤️❤️❤️
Rest in Peace 🕊️, Joanna, you are so very loved 🌹 🌺🌻🌲🌳🐱💫🌠❣️
I never believe anyone when they say it was an accident because if I hurt someone by accident I would try to get them help as soon as possible
Gosh Joanna seemed like such an amazing person. I feel so bad for all of her loved ones. I'm so angry at the "justice" system. Why isn't this POS being locked up her life? It's ridiculous!
I look forward to your videos (no matter how long it takes)🤗.. the 1976 Nathan bar~Jonah cannibal case is an interesting one I don’t think you’ve covered… get well soon🎀
So glad you’re back❤❤
I live in Bristol, and my Dad had gone on a run on christmas eve. He ran through Ashton Court and then unknowingly ran past her body as it would have been covered in snow. devastating case.
On going investigation please look into the case of joslin Smit 6/7 year old girl from south africa
So happy you are back 🎉
I have missed seeing your videos! I was so excited to see your alert 😊❤
So glad I finally sat down & watched your channel! You're amazing! Only way I can watch a true crime channel is if the person radiates empathy. That is you 🩷
What a sad story. I used to live in Clifton in a flat just like hers.
I was just thinking about when you were gonna post again yesterday 🥳
NEW BELLA VID IM SO GLAD!!!!!!!!!!!!
Great after work video 😊best way to unwind!
The jurors 10-2?? With all the evidence, two seriously thought he was innocent or there was reasonable doubt? How daft can one be... Also, only 10 months added for the images of children? Perhaps it's my older age now but cruel and unusual punishments should be allowed and applicable to monsters.
You look so bright and happy , I love your videos ❤😊
Thanks Bella! ❤ Poor Joanna and her family 😢 I hope Vincent will rotten the rest of his life in jail. .
Double homicide in Portland Victoria in 1991.
In a sleepy coastal town in Victoria, Margaret Penny was getting her hair set at "the old London" by Clare Acocks. Neither would survive and the town would change forever.
Have you discussed the Anglin brothers escaping Alcatraz?
Omg new bella video! 🩷🤗
Omg been waiting for your video! ❤
Why has no one said anything about him having more victims in his home country i guarantee you he's got more because he was most definitely a psychopath and he really thought he was about to get away with murdering her
this is crazy I live in bristol for uni and Clifton is seen as the safest place to live you'd never expect this RIP
Glad you're back!!
The mayor of Bristolsaying she would support them taking DNA from every man in the city if the police thought was needed is incredible but I just wish they were this proactive and passionate when it comes to missing and murder cases of POC in the UK
I truly can't imagine smoking a cigarette in hearing a woman yelled for help and just putting my cigarette out and walking inside and pretending like I didn't hear anything what in the actual fuck? I am like get the gang like let's go fucking see what's going on Jesus, people suck.
People who smoke DON’T give a DAMN about their OWN life. So CERTAINLY don’t care about ANYONE ELSE!!!
I was told as a kid that you should scream “FIRE” instead of “help me!” Because you’re more likely to receive help as a woman. How sad is that to have to prepare kids for.
Can you please cover a recent Spanish case: Alvaro Prieto disappeared after a night out with friends and 4 days later a TV reporter found his body live while discussing the case… It’s currently unsolved.
I would love to have your episodes as podcasts 🤤🙏🏼
… weird when the person murdered or missing has the same birthday as you. Just feels so strange… sorry to the yeates family for their loss.
The reason he might mention he was in her hallway could be that he was worried that he was seen there or that his fingerprints or dna was found there. He likely thought they had something for them to go to the Netherlands.
I’m curious to see a video done about the The Vallecas Case
