One vivid memory is when he mowed the lawn I'd follow behind with my toy lawn mower convinced I was helping. My only regret and what I would change was after he retired. I was working a lot and didn't spend time with him like I used to. He was retired and spent a lot of time alone at home while my mom was at work. I just wish I visited more and talked more during this period. Just spent more time with him. It's so easy to get caught up in your life and unintentionally push those who are most important to us away. He was always in good health and exercised regularly. I never expected that he'd be diagnosed with late stage pancreatic cancer and then pass away a month later. I miss him more than anything, he was the best man I ever met. I wish I could be more like him. He loved my mother to no end. I hope I can find that love someday and not screw it up. I'm afraid I may have already blown my shot at it. And it's entirely my fault.
