When your hair is dyed a lot the hair obviously gets damaged so when you dye it the hair strands soak up more color and it comes out darker. 😌

I've been using Wella Color Charm for 15 years and I am/was a natural blonde, but as I've gotten older my hair has gotten to be a mousy Brown. I am by no means an expert. That said...
Ash, is a toner that I would use to temper blonde in color charm. If I want lighter hair, I use the neutral shades 9N and 8N and 7N. And mix it with only a couple of drops of your Ash color.
I believe the gold and the reddish Shades will be brassy on you if you apply any of those. If I want maximum lift of color I use a stronger developer. The regular developer is 20. If I want maximum I try 30. If you put any more dye over the dye you have now, you will be compounding the problem and it may darken. Once the bleached hair grows out, your hair, naturally, will take the color in a different kind of way and you will have to adjust the application formula.
To blend when it grows, you can use a comb to pull the color down a bit, but do not keep coloring the length, just the roots. Layer upon layer of color will keep depositing pigment making it darker.
That's just my experience, You should consult a color expert.
Remember, with color charm, it's 2oz of developer for every 1oz of pigment.

Wella Demi permanent hair color did the same thing to me. I used a very light brown and my hair is almost black. I went back to Sally’s where I bought it and they told me. Oh yeah, Wella tends to be darker than any other colors. so it’s not just us it’s a well-known fact amongst the sally stores. They also recommended the next time to go up at least three shades from what I want my color to be.

My hair was the same exact color as yours was in the picture where it was brassy and I put five a on there like a lady told me that it would bring it down to an ashy light brown like it says on the box ashy light brown, not blackI’m so upset. My hair is back to what it was before before I started my blonde transition. I want to ask Sally for my money back. I’m hella mad! 😡

Yes I just did my highlighted hair with the 5A/226 light ash brown. I was just trying to go light ash brown which is close to my natural color dirty blonde. But nope, I now have dark as hell hair I have never had dark hair in my life!! I wish I had seen ur video before I did this. I have grey/blue eyes and light skin. So this is crazy drastic. Idk what I'm gonna do to fix this. Wish me luck

I know I'm late but I think the double ash is for people not using bleach but standard lift to counteract the warmth from regular lift.
If example if I have dark brown virgin hair and I want 2b dark blonde/light brown hair, I would use volume 30 developer with 6 dark blonde haircolor.
Example 2 if I have dark brown hair and I want to be a dark blonde and I BLEACHED it first...please do not use a double ash!
If you must use ash only use single/regular ash and volume 10 because you need DEPOSIT not LIFT.
Ok so in that case you could (provided you bleached your hair high enough) dark or medium blonde with your ash with volume 10 developer.
Basically I'm saying double ash is for people using volume 20 or 30 (I personally never use anything over 30) to counteract the warmth from lifting without bleach.
    I hope that makes sense

Yes girl you're right well it does seem to go to Shades Darker than what it says on the box. I would like to get 8na. So what I end up doing is getting 10na and adding half a tube of 8n. And it comes out just about I would say 81/2na to 9na. I don't like to use too much as because then it makes my hair look a little grayish. It does come out a little darker than what I would like but the more I shampoo it the later it will get. And like you said the brassiness will come back so I do end up doing it between Salon appointments. I do use the fanola blue conditioner but that doesn't get the brassy out completely. So I really like the Wella demi-permanent better. I am glad you made this video so that other people will be aware of how Wella color range is about.

That's why I like Revlon Colorsilk, it doesn't do that, the overly dark thing. ColourB4 is a good remover too, smells like perming solution. You can also use crushed vitamin C mixed into Dawn dishsoap, leave it in for an hour with a shower cap on, rinse, repeat, no more than twice/day. 3 or 4 times makes a big difference. I've done that a lot. I was about to try Wella 8A cause it's available, where Colorsilk I'd have to order online. Cold feet now!

REVLON colorsilk looks amazing on my moms extremely hard to dye hair and roots yet is so soft and gentle. I really don’t know how they do it! ❤

A good way to cool brassy tones for brunettes is the blue shampoo from Fanola.

You cannot use permanent dark blonde/ light brown on hair that was already dark and expect it to be a light brown or dark blonde that isn't how chemistry with hair color works.. also color oops is basically a lightener. Not all Wella colors are dark! You shouldn't tell people this..it's misleading and the fact that you mixed colors that made absolutely no sense can lead people to make the same mistakes. If you want blonde hair the only way you will ever get it, no matter what shade or level, you would have to lighten your hair, then tone with a toner. You can't use permanent color as a toner. Also, demi permanent is not just a toner, it's actually a combination of a toner and color it deposits. Also, most toners lift the hair while toning it's mixed with developer.. which is why the box calls for 20v- it's not a high lift developer. You could even use 10v if you want less lift. Anytime your darker hair color is lifted, it will go back to orangish brassy colors. I would suggest bleaching or lightening, an ombre effect would look good with the way your color is now, then use Wella color charm toner- I'd suggest T14 it's a darker ash color. If you want it intense ash, add the additive 050 which is a cooling violet so it will give you the ash and help battle the brassiness. Just my opinion. You are beautiful either way..
