Glad I found this video, think this has caused my C70 to limp home yesterday. For the last few miles driving home it sounds like it’s trying to suck oil that’s not there, along with more terrible noises and lack of power.
Sounds like you should have turned it of and got a tow, hopefully no major enginge damage happened... Mine atleast warned pretty angerily about low oli pressure when this happened

on the first gen v70 i think you have to lift the motor up, on mine, a v70n 2.4 na there was no need for that. (dont know if the oil return might be a problem on turbo cars) its a bit tight fit thro the subframe but jiggle it around and it will go down, hardest part was to clean all the junk out, carbon buildups behaves like som kind of tar. the tight space and the use of liquid gasket makes it a bit tricky to get it into place again but it was not that hard, just be carefull not to scrape away the gasket or it will probably leak oil. ohh, and remove the oilfilter while the pan is on the car,, it can get quite stuck i noticed.
I know this ting is sorta known for corroding the aluminium but hey, it was a free car and it served well untill the electrical issues got out of hand....
I think he did use anaerobic. But yes, no need to goop it on thick like that. Most videos show using a small paint roller to apply just a thin layer of the sealant.
Yep, i had a vw passat with the same issue, 3000km betwen service recommended. That one did altho require the subframe to be dropped. I drilled a hole in the pan and forced a nail thro the oilpickup mesh, then treaded the drilled hole and put a plugg in it. It was driven somting like 5000km after that before it wasnt wort fixing due to other stuff.
I don't own the car anymore but in the few months I drove it, it worked fine and never lost pressure again, It's a bit of a gamble tho since the engine might have taken damage from the loss of oil pressure but if you catch it imidiatly it should be fine.

@@LL-01 , it got home safe, then collected and taken to a garage. Mechanic removed the sump and found loads of old sludgy oil . 👍

That pan sealant was an abomination. At least use anaerobic.

Hi mate, did this resolve the issue in the long term? I have currently got this issue with my volvo V70 2.4 petrol.
