If you try to bullshit him by not giving him the award, he will rip out your arms.

This is the high point in Jim’s career in contrast to the low point in Len’s career getting kicked up the arse by Fr Ted

Why does Jim Norton speak with an English accent? I thought he was born and reared in Ireland.

You are right, he is from Dublin. If you list carefully, you can still make out a slight twang from his accent, however he speaks with what is considered a "Posh" Northern Ireland accent. Another good example is Sir Richard Wilson, who is Scottish, but also has a very diluted accent, again because he speaks with an upper class Scottish accent.

Yes I can make out a little bit of irish twang. In "Hidden agenda" he spoke with a northern Ireland accent, which he pulled off well. In Father ted he sounded a mixture of scottish and irish.

If you are from Northern Ireland (as he is) you are British, do you mean he sounds English and Irish?

He has a slightly stronger Irish accent in other clips I've seen.
His Father Ted accent was exaggerated and what you get here is his proper soft, well-spoken Dublin accent.

Clarissa McPigeon yeah Dublin accents tend to be more non rhotic than other Irish accents.
