Kodungallur Bhagavathy Temple at Kodungalloor in Thrissur District in Kerala is dedicated to Mother Goddess Shakti (Bhagavathy) and is a very popular Shakti Shrine in India. Kavu Theendal 2023 date is March 24 and Kodungallur Bharani Festival is on March 25. Kavutheendal and Bharani festival in Malayalam Meenam month is the most popular festival here. The highlight of the festival is the largest congregation of oracles (Komarams or Vellichapads) on the Kavu Theendal day. Dressed in red, with untied hair, brandishing their swords both men and women Komarams create an electric atmosphere. The oracles perform a mad run around the temple. They throw objects inside the temple mainly sticks which signifies the Kavu Theendal. The oracles also sing numerous songs that are associated with the legend of the Goddess and those associated with farming, culture and mother earth. Another highlight is the hurling of abuses at the deity - locally known as Kodungallur Bharani Pattu. The lyrics of the song contain mostly sexually explicit words - most of which are abusive of nature. This is followed by a purification ritual on the day after Meena Bharani festival. The temple is the closed for nearly a week. Kodungallur Bhagavathy Temple is the popular name of the temple, the original name of the temple is the Sri Kurumba Devi Temple. Symbolically the festival is dedicated to the raw and untamed energy - it also provides an opportunity to the repressed sections in the society to vent their anger. It is widely believed that Devi accepts all their frustrations and anger. kodungallur bharani# kodungallur bharani 2023# kodungalloor bharani# kodungallur bharani paattu# kodungallur# bharani# kodungallur bharani 2022# kodungallur bharani live# kodungallur temple# kodungallur bharani pattu history# kodungalloor# bharani pattu# kodungallur bharani pattu# bharani festival# kodungallur bharani festival# kodungallur amma# bharani 2023# kodungallur bharani videos 2023# kodungallur bhagavathi# kodungalloor bharani festival# kodungallur today#kodungallur meena bharani 2023# kodungallur bharani# bharani festival# bharani 2023 malayalam# bharani 2023# kodungallur bhagavathy temple# kavu theendal kodungallur# kavu theendal# kaavutheendal# bharani pattu, bharanippattu, thanaro thannaro# velichappadu thullal# komaram thullal# velichappadu# kodungallooramma# kodungallur amma story malayalam# kodungallur amma# goddess
