on a serious note: this was so cursed i dont even know where to start
at around 2:37 i started shooting my piercer WHILE IT WAS CHARGING (HOW DOES THAT EVEN HAPPEN WHAT)
i started choking hard at the end of the sisyphus fight, started slapping him and that actually killed him, im pretty sure he would have killed me 2-3 frames later if it wasnt for that punch LOL
this took like 2-3 hours and this was definitely more of a challenge than minos. i could have played this better but hey, a p-rank is a p-rank im not complaining

I still can't understand why Mayo doesn't like Ultrakill. His main argument is that the game never incentivise the players to use different guns, but having more style points is already a big incentive? Only using the piercer to P rank is possible but it is not fun and much harder than playing normally
@@wingjaigaming8240 His argument is that style points don't motivate him because they're not directly tied to gameplay. Since that video, it's tied to hard damage, but he's probably just turned off from the game because of a poor initial experience.

You beat the game using the weakest weapon, and only by mastering the movement mechanics, learning the enemies' attack patterns, learning the perfect time to parry and attack the enemies, memorized the locations of every enemy in the room, and replaying the level multiple times without a break! This is proof Ultrakill clearly sucks and doesn't encourage you to get better.

Mayo gets a lot of hate for his opinion on Ultrakill, but I don't think he gets hated enough.
It's been over a year since his video, and 8 months since his clarification video where he adressed it. He even said he likes the game and played it how intended just thought revolver was too over-reliable. Ultrakill has a great community but can't take even slight critisism at all man

So for what happened at 2:37 is that you started charging the pistol, but stopped and immediately started firing right before it finished charging, and it still held its charge and visual. I tested this and the pistol can hold this at varying levels of charge depending on when you stop charging and start firing.

@@sledgemann6683 Not true. "Good movement" in Ultrakill consists of jumping most of the time and running in circles with some panic dashes. You learn the enemy's attacks as you play the game so that is a non-issue. You don't need to parry enemy attacks at all. You don't need to have played the game at all due to the game not being difficult even with the pistol only.
Many FPS games have players using 1 or 2 guns for entire missions/matches, most people will be completely satisfied with only using the pistol for the short amount of time it takes to play Ultrakill levels. And a noob doesn't have style, that's why they just fall back on the pistol because it is easier than learning the game. That's the entire issue, that someone bad at the game isn't going to bother getting good at all the intricate and cool systems because they never need to. Why do you think people use meta weapons or camp in FPS games? It's because the game is designed badly and people are completely fine with beating it the most practical and reasonable way.
Those parries at 4:52 - 4:54 , 5:09 and 5:19 linning up with beat made me feel reinvigorated

There's difference between stating your opinion an lying.
Mayo says theres no incentive to use other weapons, but:
Ricochet a coin on a street cleaner and insta-kill it.
Fully charge a shotgun and insta kill a mind flayer.
I could give more weapon examples, but your better off going on the wiki.
Mayo also says enemies only run at you.
The only enemies that cosntantly run at you are fliths street cleaners and swordsmachines.
And even fliths can kill you if your not careful.
Mayo like many people use these days use "it's just my opinion" to deflect criticism.
But your right to an opinion does not vaildate your opinion.
Opinions by definition are subject to criticism.

The issue is that to learn some of this you have to read the tips and anyone that launches ultrakill instantly loses the ability to read
@desko2041 if this is true, why are there plenty of ultrakill players using the tips I showed? Or simply moving around, because if they couldn't read they wouldn't be able to to use any controls.
Just look at any ultrakill play though, and you'll see ultrakill players doings things that they would be able to read to do.

@@zebos2432are u talking abt hard damage and style interaction? i mean kinda but it does not take away from his absolute bullshit retarded fucking takes about using fucking ammo and whatnot despite ultrakill literally encouraging weapon swapping in a much better way than his beloved eternal by weapons having clear synergies that go beyond "i click many button to shoot faster and do more DPS" (which is still somewhat present with shotgun swapping but it's not the main reason to combo weapons)
the only thing that is kinda valid is the game being easy for "seasoned" shooter players like mayo so if ur steamrolling anyway ur not quite incentivised to be hypereffective but the last 2 difficulties arent even done yet so it kinda applies but not really

@@desko2041 - Sentries are weaker to the knuckleduster, which I have found has incentivised me use it more in combat
- Style meter now gives you a small health bonus when you play stylishly.
- The style meter's fresh weapon bonus was reworked into a freshness meter so you have to switch between more than just two weapons to get the additional style points.
- The whiplash got nerfed so it was harder to cheese fights with
- The nailgun was rebalanced several times in development to fit into the combat loop better.

Ooo the sisyphus prime boss fight, this guy looks scary nope just run around and spam pistol until he dies.
I mean i could use other weapons but what i am doing already is effective and the ammo is infinite, all i gotta do for health is run up to his face and charge shot and I'm all good again.

The real mayo% is using no movement tools available, just running and occasionally jumping, dying over and over and over again in the first room, and then rage quitting and making a video complaining about the game not being fun because you can’t beat it with only the piercer and that the only reason you didn’t try other weapons was because the game didn’t “incentivize” it.
Clearly a skill issue for the people who need other weapons
