  • With the weather still being cold, this bayou's DEEP hole was on fire! All I had to do was cast a suspending bait to them and watch the fireworks. Welcome to the Texas Gulf Coast! Inshore fishing has been very hot the past few days.

This video is so well- narrated, I so appreciate you dipping the measuring board, and watching you gain confidence in the “vaunted” MirrODine

Glad to see that Yates is producing some nice fish! Looking forward to hitting those bayous this weekend after these crazy high tides.

Great video, Mark, Mirro Dine lures are very popular here on the Virginia Chesapeake Bay coast and tributaries for big specs. Take care and be safe!

It’s interesting how similar lures translate to different geographic areas. Oftentimes when traveling, there’s no need to stock new gear. Simply use what you already have. 👍

Great video, as always and thank you for sharing with us . I’m totally getting into some marsh fishing! Just to share a little I do a lot of bass fishing with crank baits and as hard mouthed as bass are , with the wrong rod I still have had bad hook sets. I find a rod with good back bone a medium fast action ( kinda light ) on the tip keeps me from pulling out of their mouth . The fish is catching up to the lure to hit it and a stiff rod will pull it to fast on the hook set. Also I tend to get excited on the hook set so that hurts too. Just some freshwater love to you salties . Keep ‘em coming mark, thanks again.

Pearl Black Back Soft-Dine is my go to lure when the water gets cold. The Mirrodine works great for me at the Tx City Dike fishing with the lights.

😂 I’ve been staring at mine the same way until today. They may as well of had a tag on them.

Great lure for sure. The only problem is the small treble hooks and the fish shake them easily. Switch them out for inline single 1/0 hooks and you will land 90% more of the shakers!

Marc, Miro lures are the best. I have a vast collection of them from long ago. Some I know are well over 50 years old. Won't part with them. The majority were only like 75cents to 1.50 each. I probably have 100 of them. The mirodine looks like a winner. Tight lines bro.

@@MDLRFishing Yes they are. I'm 75 now and I look at the cost of fishing tackle, rods, reels, fishing line etc., and I am just amazed, but I fished in a time where the fish were plentiful, but I practiced catch and release long before it was common practice. Got a lot of grief from people tossing back 10 lb. Sow trout at the jetties, but my thrill was the catch not the keep. I did from time to time keep some for cooking, but overall I wanted to protect the resource, as you do. Thanks for allowing this old Freeport,TX man to dream of the good times of my youth. God Bless and may you land a 20 lb. Sow trout!!!

Responding to the mosquito that bit you, that’s the same thing I said yesterday when I was at work because i got bit as well and just doesn’t make sense because they’re obviously only around in the summer but I come to learn that the government did release genetically modified mosquitoes, but they’re saying they are harmless, but others are saying different, not sure but stay safe.
