I'm really happy, Mark, that the Big Water ePDL is working well for you! It sure makes fishing a lot more enjoyable when your gear performs at a level that takes stress out of the equation. WOW, what a day of hammering those big reds, thanks for sharing. Take care and be safe!
You should let me refinish your kitchen cabinets and do a more modern backsplash , i specialize in bathroom kitchen remodels as a business owner and I can see the potential
It’s pretty hard cause they don’t give themselves up and show where they are. But with a lot of luck and a million casts, the lure will eventually find one. 😂
Awesome video as always - those were some Mike Tyson reds - that paddle drive looks great- you can see the difference in the video - as soon as it kicks in it just goes - first thing that comes to mind - a bobsled right at the moment the team begins to push 😂- man I could hear that crunch on those fish filets- chicharrón panko - I definitely have to give that a try- tight lines- PuraSal Angler🙌🏻
As always Mark, thanks for grinding it out in that wind. I know you do this for a living and sometimes don’t have a choice. Like many of your followers I look forward to your content every week. P.s I don’t know about your shimano but I’ve seen videos where you can open the side plate and it has further settings for casting. Just fyi.
That 27-1/2” was a high 8 fish. Perfect for a weigh in if it has a few buddies the same size! That 28-1/2” was probably a low 10. Solid fish. I love catching belly draggers
I had similar issues with my SLX BFS when I first got it. I was having issues getting it dialed in. The main problem was its really hard to see the numbers. I turned mine all the way to 1 the first trip out while trying to turn it up. Overcast is almost the best lighting to see the numbers. Too dark or too bright and its hard to see. But once I got everything figured out I was bombing little small 1/16th ounce underspins.
I'm not a kayaker, and therefore I'm asking the question from complete ignorance!! Is there a reason you use the 7' rods vs 6'6? It just seems like the smaller rod would be easier to work with on a yak since there is less space. Again, I have never fished from a kayak so I don't know and just asking out of curiosity. Great catches, keep up the good work. Thanks Master Gunns....Sempers!
It’s easier to clear the bow of the kayak when seated. And the 7’ length helps with slinging tiny 1/16 and 1/8 oz lures to finicky fish from a distance.
Great video. Thanks for sharing. I know you know how to cast and fish, but when I use a bfs reel they cast much better when I dont cast with the typical snap action. Since the spool is so light as spin so easily a lazier cast is usually the better approach. With how you said youre having to set up the reel and your issues, I bet that is the reason. Maybe not. Just my thoughts and theyre worth what you paid for them...
Good stuff. Solid fish and a different way to cook some red fish. 😋
For sure!

I crush up Lays potato chips and mix with a lil corn meal as a breading for frying fish. I will def be trying this pork rind method, looks great.
Sounds great!

Thanks 👍 bro!
How’s the throw cushion working for you?
Have you looked at a Jackson Coosa FD for where you fish? That drive would do pretty well in that shallow water.
I haven’t.

If it’s the fish grips, they’re likely listed in the video description. Can get them just about anywhere. 👍

Different depths throughout the marsh.
