caught three keepers on the DOA 3” paddletails from Academy the other night, nightfishing a pier by the causeway. Lime green with glitter and an ivory back. Was pleasantly impressed and surprised with their performance! So, to clarify, three keeper specks against about 30 fish caught, total, hahaha, tons of sandies and baby specks, and a ladyfish.

Great video, Mark! At least the heat didn't beat you guys down. You landed some nice size trout, and that dish looked very spicy! Take care and be safe!
i have a ? and i whant your onest opinion, would your 13.6 kayak be better of with a 55pound thrust or higher minn kota motor? please answere onestly thank you .i think the 45 pound thrust is to small for the kayak.
It doesn’t matter what size motor you put on the kayak. The body design isn’t meant for higher speeds. It’s not meant to go on plane so to say. It’s like throwing a NASCAR engine into a Prius. They weren’t designed for each other. The engineers at Old Town designed the kayak body for a 45 lb thrust motor.
@@MDLRFishing thank you fore getting back to me . i under stand the planeing part i put 23 years working with boats, it would pick up 1or2 mphs. the thing i was getting at was a 55 pound thrust would not work as hard and would be easyer on the battery. no kayak is going to plane as a boat dose. thank you once again from MrBear hudson fl.
Wow I really was able to taste the rice.. 😅😅 lol that looked really good tho. Awesome, but yea even I was feeling the hotness of the peppers... 😂😂😂 loved the content. That shows really hard dedication going night fishing..
i have a huge problem and issue with our fishing community not understanding science. We can keep the 20 inchers specifically and exactly because science studies and biologists have specifically established that those fish have ALREADY spawned many many many times by the time that they reach 20”!!!! Let’s be good anglers and keep our 20”ers and let the smallies breed like they are supposed to. Because they do. They start breeding BEFORE they are even a foot long!!! THAT is WHY Louisiana is ABLE to have its 12” minimum length! Because of science! And biology! It is good to keep a 20 or 30 inch fish that has already breeded twice or thrice per year for several years! Millions of eggs laid! Yes. It is good if you want to keep a 20”er and it is also good if you want to throw it back to spawn some more. And also the science of WHY we can KEEP five twenty inchers, PER DAY, in Texas, should ALSO be acknowledged by us, the fishermen who want to keep fish populations growing.
@@MDLRFishing exactly! Which is perfectly good and fine Mr. MDLR! Angler’s choice! Angler’s preference! Within the regulation! The regulation specifically made because of that science! My specific problem is with the people who have no understanding of the science and will rail against others in comments about being a bad fisherman just because somebody decided they want to 100% legally keep their trophy thirty inch speckled trout. Throw it back or keep it, fine! And let us understand why we are even legally allowed to keep the 20 inchers in the first place! Because indeed, they have already laid millions of eggs by the time they reach that size, and bigger. I hope I clarified enough. I rail against some but not you, Mr. MDLR😅 even if I did sorta call you out for what you said about “breeders”.😀
@@MDLRFishing Sorry, I should have been more specific. I saw the 1000w halogen lamp in the night fishing setup, but not the actual "metal spotlight housing" used to project onto the water. Also, love your videos!
Same here I once started fishing and caught a 15 inches and it shrunk 3/4 of a inch. Got a picture of it when it was 15 when the game warden came. The fish match spot to spot plus all my other fish were legal size so I was let with a warning
Aww dude, no lie my stomach growled when you presented that dish! I noticed you kept the seeds in the jalapeno and sauteed them to boot! That's where that fire's coming from. Those beans looked delicious Just missing some warm tortillas and cold cerveza! Cheers 🍺
Oh Marc, you have all the greatest equipment to fish with here's more for your artillery. - Canopy Weights Set of 4 $23 (they look like weights but are great to hold down canopy's same principles with light stand) Amazon. - Tiki torches filed with BiteFinders (torch $5-12ea.), (BiteFinder liquid $17) Home Depot - Portable Fire Pit $12-18 (2 small logs will clear all types of insects in your fishing area) Amazon - Mosquito Repellent Coils (4-Pack) $4 @ Home Depot (if you can't have fires light a couple of these in your area all bugs will be gone) Home Depot You don't need all the bug repellents but smoke repels all flying insects, especially the ones that bite. Tight lines.
I have a question. I try to recreate your dishes all the time and I noticed your handle covers on your iron skillet. I love those where did you’ll get those at? My next dish is going to be the trout cakes and grits. I copied your recipe just need to get down there and catch the fish.
Another good video Marc! Memories are over whelming me again. The stuffed peppers and beans looked delicious. Amazes me people don't cook at home anymore, but waste money on pure slop, and so expensive! My favorite dish with fresh specs is cerveche. Love it! Thanks for another great video!!!!
😂close your mouth… she’s a girl 😂😂 hey mark, so educate me here… the light is for video purposes or the fish is attracted by the light? I have do surf fishing at night for “rock fish/strips-bass” but not light is needed. Now I am learning with you guys this light thing. Good music 🎶 man 😂👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻

Great content guys,, ? Is the term Jarheads a compliment are not, when in the military ?

Much appreciated 🤙
The poblano pepper can be really spicy sometimes
Could’ve been the culprit 😂
Good stuff brother
Appreciate it Tim!
Love your videos! They make me want to take vacation and come from South Carolina to Texas to go fishing.
Thanks for the amazing support bro 🤙
Have you tried a Rapala jerk shad
I haven’t but my son has tried a similar off brand.
Love the night fishing videos.
I’m doing an even mix because of the summer heat.
Glad to see they are out there! We'll be back again soon. That catch and cook is SUPER motivational and delicious 😋🤤👍

20” females make it to that length for a reason. I prefer to let them continue breeding. Besides I like the smaller ones anyways. 👍

I haven’t. I’d be worried about all the snags down there.

I listed it in the video description 👍

Too bad the numbers are dropping according to the game warden, esp the flounder
Very hard to corroborate when you see something entirely different on the water.
