Lure Making a Topwater Spinner

- I had the idea of making a spinner lure from a post I saw a while back on Facebook about a vintage topwater in-line spinner type of lure. I wanted to go with an old school paint scheme and do just red and white, which looked ok but it kinda turned out looking like a pokeball from Pokémon lol. Oh well. It's definitely a fun lure to fish with but it's been like 100 degrees in Arkansas and I can't get anything to bite topwater right now. Either way I hope you enjoy.

Ohhhhhh YYYYESSSSSSS! Real dang music! No cheese eatin hip hop slop. Makes it a real pleasure to watch your talents unfold!
Thank you lol
I actually love the idea of re-imagining or playing with old school designs. Nowadays everything is so technology based and that's fine. It's where we are at in the world. Lures are super life like, and pain jobs look like an actual photo was placed on the bait. 100+ years ago, someone got a block of wood, a knife, some paint, and an idea, and companies like Heddon were born. We may look now and wonder what the hell they were thinking or imitating, but apparently they worked. The company is still here. Yes they used science and tech of the day back then as well....but it just seemed to be a simpler and in my opinion in some cases, a better time. 😆 Sorry man, I'm rambling. Can't sleep tonight and I'm tired, but I enjoy your work. Especially your creativity and talent building and painting these lures. Case in point to tech of the day....Good old red and white has caught fish probably as long as lures have been made. I never saw a bait fish that was just red and white. Keep up the good work!
Yeah man the old school guys didn’t know how good they had it building a new industry. These days everything has already been done so it’s harder to compete. Your right, like in the old days simpler is better sometimes.
1. Loved it when you stopped the music!
2. Sanding method is awesome!
3. Music is excellent!
4. Now I have to get a dog!
5. Great action!
😂😂 good idea besides all the excess hair all over the house!
Nice somebody picked up a good set of the wire pliers good on you.
Perfect again 👍👍👍
Thank you!!!
Awesome bait.... glad to see the subscriber base growing too. Keep up the great work.
That’s pretty damn sweet!
Thank you
Love the videos your craftsmanship is great. When you bent down and pulled some winter coat off your husky and tied it on a hook I thought to myself why didn't I ever think of that. I really enjoy watching your videos and keep them coming .
Master craftsman. Best part of the video is taking the dog's fur. Cheers!
Not that anyone will see this since I'm just now watching this months later, but a really easy way to have crisper lines on the paint is to hit the edge of the tape with a spray of the color underneath. So in this case, hitting the tape edge with a spray of white before switching to the red. That way the the stuff that sneaks under the tape edge is the same as the color beneath. Super crisp lines.
Either way, rad videos. Really happy I found your channel!
Great advice I’ll be putting that to use in the future.
Very good.
Thank you
Cool idea
Finally a practical use for surplus dog hair🤣 Great video!
Absolutely! I can’t tell you how many “buck tails” I’ve made from her haha.
@@TreysArt I've been watching you for a while now and can't believe your channel is much bigger. The stuff you do is different and really creative. One of these days it has to really take off!
I hope so I’m working on it. I’m still learning about tags and keywords and stuff.
One of my dogs A White Collie would be useful for that ha! I've used his hairs for testing the edge on my straight razors after I restore and sharpen them.
Nice!
this is super cool, man! much love your channel has inspired me to make my own lures, and this is definitely a dope one 👍
Thank you I’m glad I was able to spark some inspiration
10 number 5 star broo. Nice work bravooo 👍👍 dog hair 😂😂😂😂

I’m sorry to hear that. Right now I haven’t had much time to work on any lures. I’m back at a normal job for the time being and it’s taking up all my free time
LOL Chrome nut cup 👍 now I get it. DOA bobber spinner plug bate. Yeah like that just rolls right off the tongue without putting pretzels in your brain. On the other hand that's going to roll right out of the water. Bobber Bob the plug bate he needs a tail sign (BITE ME) ROFLMAO 7👍👏
Lol I like bobber spinner plug bait
Love that music somehow my mind keeps on screaming but it should be Jefferson Airplane no screw that this is good music.
Awesome vidio👍❤️🇲🇨
Hello, it turned out just super! Where you got such a blade, who is the same bait to make, and what kind of propeller, I do not understand.
I dont know the name of the original bait. The propeller is an aluminum buzzbait blade. I ordered a large pack of them on eBay a while back.
@@TreysArt Thanks
What do you use to get the final coat on your lures ? The clear coat ?
Bsi “bob smith industries”
@@TreysArt great thank you
Можно взять готовый поплавок из бальсы !
Now I want to make a god lizard bait. Yeah that should be able to be done with the helium balloon. But would that not be called kitting a cork?
how much do you sell them for
I’m actually not selling any at the moment.
This idea is really brilliant.. and you have awesommme craftsmanship skills.. 👍👌👍👌🎣🎣🎣🎣
( I have tried copying your idea .. 😊.. but it looks you are kinda person who wouldn't mind.. 😊 )
Not at all I just love experimenting and if I can give people new ideas that’s a plus for me!

Yes I keep writing notes because I have something else to say because I'm so drunk good news is you don't need to answer just laugh. Because nothing is going to stop me from talking and I don't need to know why you're laughing. Not even if I lived in the ice house next door. take that as you will I'm a nomadic out of necessity. Society is too depressing and life is too funny to be depressed! 100-percent word up.
Lol yes she’s a southern husky if there’s such a thing.
