Wow, I just found this channel and it's fantastic!!! (wait scratch that, I've seen the Ice Cream vids) I loved the intro. Two things on the female pro. 1. If she's really light weight, that would effect her ideal tire pressure. 2. I wonder what width her tires were, if she was running narrow tires that would also effect ideal tire pressure. I think I have an old video about tire pressure on my channel but it's important for people to know that the consequences for over inflating are much more harsh than under inflating. Can't wait to see more of your video and thanks so much for taking the time to make these!
Hi! Thanks for breaking it down - tire pressure's been a big topic recently but it felt a little over my head. Where would you say the line is to keep a low tire pressure while also avoiding pinch flats? I had a rough 6 months where I just had pinch flat after pinch flat - so I'm a little wary of riding lower pressures.
I'll be honest that I have never pinch flatted so I can't say I've hit that line yet, but personally even though I've seen data that says under 80psi might be faster, I'm wary to go that low (hence me running ~85 at Boulder). I also tend to only replace tubes in my house while I'm not in a rush so I'm very careful to make sure that they're seated well and I'll deflate and reposition if it looks like the tube might be under the beads of the tire at all. Patience is key there.
