The weirdest thing about the education system is that pretty much every teenager is so stressed out about school that they pray for disasters or fake illness or try to kill themselves and yet nobody has ever thought to themselves "hey maybe our system is flawed" and instead all they ever think is "kids these days are so lazy and selfish" like wtf is up with that man

At my school, girls can’t wear open-toed shoes unless we have our nails done. And no one can wear anything that’s even slightly tight. We’re not allowed to have unnatural hair colors, but what are schools going to do if we do dye our hair? Make us shave our heads? That would draw a lot more attention than unnatural hair colors, and not the good attention that people with dyed hair get. People with shaved heads could get bullied for it
At least you can wear a dress of your choice..most schools in India...have such a fixed uniform 😭😭😭 even colored shoes, watches etc.not allowed..girls have to wear two plaits onlyy..boys can't grow their hair even little bit and so on😑😑 I'm sorry for being whiny but I think it's so horrible it's ridiculous 😓

I also feel like School should teach some basic Psychology to spread mental awareness like how to support others and help ourselves in bad times. And to cope ourselves. Also teach some charisma techniques too like gaining friends and also confidence to face anything especially business.

This is why I'm so glad that I had a class specifically for running a business, doing taxes, and balancing a checkbook. It was called Noble Entrepreneurship, and my teacher was a damn saint thank God for her I swear she saved my life 🙏

My classmate used to wear cropped hoodies and the teachers made her wear a shirt under it. And the boys didn't even care. They knew that she wanted attention.

I'm not saying that learning different subject's is a bad thing. But I think that from a certain age you should be able to choose your own subjects. I have been in school for almost 13 years, and I don't know what I want to work with. But I am very sure I will never need a lot of the stuff I learned in math and geography :)
I have been saying this since 10th grade!!! Thank you because I am now a graduate student and I would've loved to learn about the importance of rent/buying furniture/how to properly plan out bill payments, etc. I mean, come on American School System! For my Spanish class we are actually learning good stuff. Right now we are learning how to get medical help and care in Spanish. So we learnt how to describe our how we are feeling, if we are healthy, if we are feeling sick, how to get an appointment, how to say ur situation is serious etc

What I hate the most is when schools teach you different, more complicated methods to solve an equation than the one you already know. Like for example, 1+2=3 (I'm too lazy to think of a proper example). The answer is so simple but noooo, you have to divide the two first. So now instead of a simple, easy 1+2=3 you have to do 2=1+1 so 1+1+1=3. Like bish, dafuq? It makes everything so much more confusing
This becomes especially important when you are dealing with multiple variables and you have no idea what they stand for. This also teaches you how to solve problems in different ways. That is called problem-solving, which is a skill that a lot of employers look for when hiring.

What grade are you in? I can only recommend learning your fractions well, as well as transferring them into both decimals and percents, and what the real life relations mean (e.g. 1/5 cheaper means original times (1-1/5) equals 4/5*original) because that stuff is gonna carry you all through the world of mathematics.

Okay storytime. I had this problem! We wear a uniform at my school, but at the end if every month, we can wear anything that's in dress code. So my MALE TEACHER decided my shirt was out of dress code. (It was perfectly fine) He pulled me out of class and yelled at me bc boys wwere being distracted. So i stopped him by walking into the next classroom. Every single student looked up and my teacher thought this proved his point. I asked the boy in the front row, "Are you distracted by me?" He nodded and said, "Well yes. You aren't in our class and you just marched in here." So i said, "Are you distracted by my shirt?" He shook his head and said no. The teacher of the classroom i walked into had been watching and had caught on to what i was trying to prove. She stood up and said "Honey is there something wrong?" I told what my teacher said to me. He yelled again, saying he was right. Thats when i noticed we had the same shirt. This teacher who i didnt know the name of started yelling at my teacher about how inappropriate it is to support the idea that girls have to act a certain way for boys, and that it is a girl's fault for whatever happens to her. My teacher went to the principal's office but it was fine bc i wasn't violating dress code and my AWESOME principal backed me up. Okay. That was long.

In my school we aren’t allowed to wear bandanas, no see through articles of clothing, no crop tops, no visible bra straps, girls pants / skirts/ dresses can’t be above arm length, no leggings, no rips in your pants at all, even if there is fabric underneath, tank tops must be 3 inches, (again, only for girls) and you can’t wear sweaters/sweatshirts or shirts that are so long they cover your shorts when you stand. In the school guidelines the girls dress code is 2 paragraphs and the boys dress code is two sentences. No joke. Update: Y’all I’m about to freak out. No one can wear headbands anymore.

They were treated as a group of numbers rather than individuals too, which is a terrible form of education imo and also if you were out sick, no matter how bad it was, good luck if you don't know there's a test the next day

Literally today my music teacher asked me how many bars were in a piece, and I told her the right answer and she proceeded to shout at me telling me that I'd labelled it wrong and that I wasn't listening. I learn Mandarin as well. Personally for me, I find it somewhat easy, but I enjoy languages and we like to stay on certain units for at least a week, depending on the difficulty. What I hate the most is when schools teach you different, more complicated methods to solve an equation than the one you already know. Like for example, 1+2=3 (I'm too lazy to think of a proper example). The answer is so simple but noooo, you have to divide the two first. So now instead of a simple, easy 1+2=3 you have to do 2=1+1 so 1+1+1=3. Like bish, dafuq? It makes everything so much more confusing

What grade are you in? I can only recommend learning your fractions well, as well as transferring them into both decimals and percents, and what the real life relations mean (e.g. 1/5 cheaper means original times (1-1/5) equals 4/5*original) because that stuff is gonna carry you all through the world of mathematics.

Okay storytime. I had this problem! We wear a uniform at my school, but at the end if every month, we can wear anything that's in dress code. So my MALE TEACHER decided my shirt was out of dress code. (It was perfectly fine) He pulled me out of class and yelled at me bc boys wwere being distracted. So i stopped him by walking into the next classroom. Every single student looked up and my teacher thought this proved his point. I asked the boy in the front row, "Are you distracted by me?" He nodded and said, "Well yes. You aren't in our class and you just marched in here." So i said, "Are you distracted by my shirt?" He shook his head and said no. The teacher of the classroom i walked into had been watching and had caught on to what i was trying to prove. She stood up and said "Honey is there something wrong?" I told what my teacher said to me. He yelled again, saying he was right. Thats when i noticed we had the same shirt. This teacher who i didnt know the name of started yelling at my teacher about how inappropriate it is to support the idea that girls have to act a certain way for boys, and that it is a girl's fault for whatever happens to her. My teacher went to the principal's office but it was fine bc i wasn't violating dress code and my AWESOME principal backed me up. Okay. That was long.

In my school we aren’t allowed to wear bandanas, no see through articles of clothing, no crop tops, no visible bra straps, girls pants / skirts/ dresses can’t be above arm length, no leggings, no rips in your pants at all, even if there is fabric underneath, tank tops must be 3 inches, (again, only for girls) and you can’t wear sweaters/sweatshirts or shirts that are so long they cover your shorts when you stand. In the school guidelines the girls dress code is 2 paragraphs and the boys dress code is two sentences. No joke.

They were treated as a group of numbers rather than individuals too, which is a terrible form of education imo and also if you were out sick, no matter how bad it was, good luck if you don't know there's a test the next day

Literally today my music teacher asked me how many bars were in a piece, and I told her the right answer and she proceeded to shout at me telling me that I'd labelled it wrong and that I wasn't listening. Oh my, that's very harsh... We didn't have any uniforms or dresscodes... There was no need to... Nobody was going to school in inapropriate attire (like booty shorts lol) and noone ever put more makeup on other than some maskara and light colored lipstick... I learn Mandarin as well. Personally for me, I find it somewhat easy, but I enjoy languages and we like to stay on certain units for at least a week, depending on the difficulty. this is mine: i wear jeans instead of skirts, and a uniform shirt, you can wear any shoes you want except sandals or flip flops, you can put your hair anywhere you want but ponytail, you can make it messy :)
