Very nicely made cocktail. I introduced this cocktail in the winter menu in 2011 with more Indian warm whole spices and Indian dark rum OLD MONK and it got very good response from the patrons. From that year I fall in love with hot cocktails and used to make winter menu with whisky toddy, rum toddy, cognac toddy, hot buttered rum, mulled wine with addition of 2 my signature cocktails and giving a twist to above cocktails with different spices, adding warm apple juice and cranberry juice etc. I got many appreciation from the guests for hot cocktails. I am planning to launch winter menu in October with a Corona virus inspired hot cocktail. I will share the recipe and video with you. Bye....
Well, it’s time to try a few of your Christmas sippers and prep myself for when family shows up. Yeah, yeah, I know, it’s not even Halloween yet. Better early than late. Anyway, I made your hot buttered rum and is it ever lip smacking good! At first I left out the orange peel and the cloves because I’m lazy. It was nice but when I did as Grand Master Bruce told me to and added the cloves and orange...well, words fail me! Bruce, that libation warmed the cockles of my heart!!!! I don’t know what a cockle is but it was warmed!
Glad you enjoyed it. It’s always worth taking the time to do the extras when the result is a fabulous little concoction. I’ll be entering Christmas mode myself and trying to figure out what our Christmas episodes will feature. So many options! Halloween episodes releasing soon so stay tuned!
Just made one for myself but more of a body version with brandy because my sinuses are not doing so well plus I added about three quarters of an ounce of lemon because Citrus sounded really good right now along with about caps worth of Benedictine for the herbal side.
That sounds absolutely delicious and should fix ya right up. If not, have another! Ha. Check out the blueberry tea episode- you can add cough syrup to that one if you need it. Feel better! Cheers
Ha! Can you imagine? Mai Tai Monday’s would be my first task if elected. Thanks for the continued support. One more Christmas episode coming next week so check back. Cheers!
Had one of these at a place called the breadfruit and rum bar here in Phoenix AZ they went down easy and Christmassy so I had another but I realized I was drinking butter so I ordered something else.
There are so many great dark rums out there that it's hard to choose sometimes. I certainly do enjoy Appleton 12 year old. Though it's more of a deep amber coloured spirit, it's filled with complex notes of oak, molasses, citrus, vanilla, and almond. Everything I like... It's got a really smooth luscious finish. Actually, I'm enjoying one right now while playing with a new cocktail idea I have yet to name. How weird is that? Then there is The Kraken. It's a Black spiced Caribbean rum that I like too. It's really intense with flavours of molasses, spices and brown sugar. I taste coffee, chocolate, vanilla and cloves. I think the Kraken would make for a fine Hot Buttered Rum Cheers!
No, not the same Harry. Harry Yee spent more than thirty years as head bartender at the Hawaiian Village Hotel in Honolulu, Hawaii. His many cocktail creations helped to spread tiki culture during the mid-twentieth century.

Try bulletproof coffee
I just made this and it was really good, so I thought, I wonder how it would be with a shot of espresso, not recommended.
Ha! Glad you gave it a go. Cheers
Just made one there great
Classic
What dark rims would you recommend in place of spiced? I’ve heard good things about Myers and Appleton
