Ian, I was very sad to see that The Rats in The Walls was deleted. I am guessing the faithful cat had something to do with it, which I think is stupid if someone complained about it. It is a work of historical significance and was a bedtime favorite of mine.
The Lovecraft story was short but interesting. The music gives me a bizzare vibe, but in dealing in Lovecraft, Bizzare is to be expected and welcomed. You should use this in future works Ian. Especially in dealing with bizzare scenarios and elements.
Although this story is short it does have an engrossing and vividly spine-tingling aura that permeates throughout Lovecraft's work. The subtle "Arabian Nights" references are also cool, being that was a book that inspired him a huge deal growing up. The music certainly is in tune with the tone of the tale and I have no doubt the author himself would have been astounded with and impressed with the track. Thanks again for another beautifully narrated Lovecraftian video.
Great story and narration. So much information and detail is conveyed in a short time. The story told is very interested. I always like reading this short little gem. Thanks!!
Fantastic how such imagery of a world after humans can be captured in only 350 words. And excellently read, which makes all the difference. How fitting this piece is in the world we live. As beautiful as his words were, I hope this is not our future.
I have a hard time following these stories (partly thanks to a lack of focus) but I really love the atmosphere this video gave me. So the story is basically a post collapse where some inhuman beings are admiring the overgrowth on the ruins of manmade cities right? I would like to see some kinda animation of this.
Great reading, Ian. The music is awesome too. Reminds me of something Brian Eno/Steve Roach would do after binge reading some Lovecraft. Much love, sir
Thank you so much Ian. We're here for you brother. Oh I wanted to tell you that I know why so many people thought you were old lol. Watching some of your older videos- you used to use a drawing that looked like an old man in a striped suit. I'm sure other people like me thought it was a fan art drawing of you. This is the last I'll speak of it =) Just wanted to point that out.
Thank you so much. I know that story, but was tempted to hear it being read. Very poetic. I suspect that all stories and novels about the future extinction of mankind (e.g., Well's "Time Machine" and so forth) became a subgenre of sci fi and horror literature after the people learned in the 19th century that there were life forms before them, first of all dinosaurs.
@Miss Poste *argw27 Thank you for the show of support - and hello there in Greece! I haven't been to mainland Greece in 10 years - I love the country though.
Ian... you wrote the music/composition ?? It sounds like it's in a similar vein that I compose in. I would love to share some of my compositions with you. I love ALL your work.

It has only been removed from YT, Orion. You can still listen to it here: horrorbabble.bandcamp.com/album/the-rats-in-the-walls
The ambient music was a great touch! Excellent as always.

So much said in such a short story. The music fits the story nicely.
This is one of my favourite Lovecraft stories, because he manages to put so much meaning into just half of a page.
I continue to come back to this when I share this channel with my friends.
Such a good story and the music really gives you the dreadful sense of time long forgotten, matches perfectly.
Absolutely fantastic reading, and wonderful ambiance...
Seriously, this has to be one of the best HorrorBabble's I've heard.
😎
So much meaning in so few words. It gave me chills.I love it.Also the music.

Never read this one before; puts me in mind of Bierce’s “An Inhabitant of Carcosa”.
Another Lovecraft Story this is Great!!!!! Thank You!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
That is some singularly unnerving ambient music.
Beautifully done, thank you very much!! I'll take any and all Lovecraft you do happily!!!
Great story and narration.
So much information and detail is conveyed in a short time. The story told is very interested. I always like reading this short little gem.
Thanks!!
Wonderful reading ty. And the music played after the readung is mysterious and enchanting
I love this channel.
Hearing you read this is so much better than reading it myself. It is so much more effective. Loved the music too. Thank you!
You always nail it. I'm doing my own reading of this same piece very shortly and I always come to you for inspiration.
Such an amazing piece! It puts you right there in the valley under the thin, horned moon

As short as it was that was really cool!! Thank you.

I finally became a patron! It's only a dollar but it's the best dollar because I love yall
Thank you very much! :) Ian
Another great story from the very talented yet underappreciated Master of Cosmic Horror, H. P. Lovecraft.
I can't wait to donate. I'm so broke but this channel provides me with much pleasure; keep on. And fare well, little ones.
Thanks Justin!
Another spooktastic story by H.P. and an equally unnerving composition, well done Ian
You've got the perfect voice for reading Lovecraft. Fuck youtube.
I love this very short story it's so descriptive
I found the music to be hauntingly fascinating. Keep playing!!
I wish I could like this twice. Both the reading and the music(?) are excellent.
Great reading, Ian. The music is awesome too. Reminds me of something Brian Eno/Steve Roach would do after binge reading some Lovecraft. Much love, sir

Ha! That's the cover art taken from my first eBook: www.amazon.com/dp/B07L6M48NL (based on the story, The Fear Experiment)
LOL. That is just too funny. You are a very handsome fella! Finally got to see the real you on the bandcamp website.

Best show on youtube .. :-)
Truly. The best!
Wonderful! ☠👻🐙
The music has something of a Steve Roach quality
Memory is a demon. Especially in your late 50s.
Hopefully RUclips isn't screwing you folks on this one too.
All videos have been demonetized, Joebob. There'll be no more ads across the entire channel.
Damn.

reminds me of a10 billion days and a hundred billion nights by Ryu Mitsuse.
Way to hit the 10 minute mark with that music 😂 🤑🤑🤑🤑🤑
With a work like Memory, you've got to take a little time afterwards to reflect! ;)
HorrorBabble fair enough
In the story humans evolved into apes. Like small dinosaurs evolved into birds.
really had to hit that time limit eh
Well done as usual Ian!
Thanks as always for listening, Mark!
