Erich Zann is a stand-in for the most embarrassing and maddened occurrences of which H.P. himself caused; A story to portray his own starings into that abyss that maddening men see, that twists them off the edge. To portray how he wrote and rambled into that dark abyss in a fearful attempt to make it stop, but it only mocked him.

Honestly I would pay money for this dudes voice. He often releases the audio as a podcast on other platforms but I always make sure to watch his video with ads on even if it's just in the background on top of trying to patron when I can.

This was one of my favorite story of all of his. So much emotion and action, yet still maintains his iconic style. Definitely a good read

I admit I've only just discovered his works. I feel utterly distraught that I'm nearly half a century old and not understood how he influenced most of my favourite movies. Reading his works (or listening to them) is like being given a perfect meal when you're hungry for it.
It took me 2 years of being subscribed before I gave these Lovecraft audio books a try. I was a fool. 10/10 will binge again

i would have never expected two videos in one day considering the production quality, very pleasantly surprised.
I mean to be fair he only uploads on the same day every week typically or spread out upon two days. So it's likely he works on them during the week instead of all in one day.

this was the first complete work by lovecraft i've ever listened to! it was such a fantastic narration to watch before bed 😴 these short story ones are basically indecipherable from SCP tales too, i love it

I wonder if Erich managed to pay the narrator's rent on the more expensive lower room before he died. I also wonder if the narrator managed to retrieve any of his belongings before he left the Rue d'Auseil, never to return. Let's get that story, of fleeing your house in a panic and then having to survive penniless and possessionless in Paris while struggling to regain your lost Sanity points.

Did H P Lovecraft ever visit Shaftesbury in Dorset, England, I wonder. His description of the route to the street he writes of in the story sounds very much like Gold Hill in Shaftesbury, that precipitous narrow cobbled way forever immortalised in that iconic Hovis bread ad...
