I’ve just returned from a similar trip. My friend and I did a number of alpine passes in Switzerland, France and Italy including the Stelvio pass and, as you say, the views, roads and scenery are breathtaking. The Stelvio was the cherry on the cake and we also returned via the B500 through the Black Forest. Looking at our photos it’s hard to believe the roads we rode over and it’s one I’d recommend to anyone 😊
I couldn't agree more mate, I was blown away by the roads in Switzerland Austria and Germany. Almost unbelievable at time, like playing a video game they were so perfect 😍
Switzerland - One of the most breathtaking places on earth. No matter how many times I visit family, smelling the fresh air of the Alps, amazing lake views just never gets old.
Absolutely beautiful Phil, stunning scenery. I absolutely despise going in garages where they ask you to remove your helmet. I wonder if they make people take off a burkha? Probably not at the risk of offending them. That train looked amazing😂😂 Well, that seems to have been a fantastic trip for you both. And so far, the Ducati has been faultless. 👌
I don't like taking my helmet off but I don't get offended by it because 10 mins later I'm still grumbling while the server has already dealt with 100 other people and forgotten about me, I just let it go now and forget about it. The scenery is unbelievable, and just keeps getting better 👍
Crikey that wife of yours, certainly brings the swearing out in you Phil! 😮🤣👍 Now seriously though, looks unbelievable mate & that train ride looked "To Die For" ! 😉👍 Back in 2003 I snowboarded down from Cervinia in Northern Italy, across the Swiss Border into Zermatt & grabbed some lunch! 😬👍 Now being a fan of the Pizza, the 2nd best I've ever had was in Cervinia...Tenerife Pizza top of my list though! 😮🤣😂✌️
Tenerife pizza? Sounds like I need another country on my bucket list 🤔 Mate it was a scary ride but one I'm glad we experienced, I would do it again but feel I missed out on the mountain pass that it avoided 😔
Nice travelogue- I like your extra diligence with your passport/ wallet/ documents. It’s so easy to stick things in your pocket as I have done and then lost things 😖
Hi Steve, having the tanklock tank bag is a game changer, every time we stop it comes off and goes with us so we know everything important is together. Plus having such easy access to cards for the toll stations is so much safer than messing with zips and pockets, especially in the wet . Thanks for watching buddy 👍
I was on a 11 day road trip through the alps and Black Forest last month. And I am getting itchy feet watching this. Especially as I too rode through Basel and stopped at this service station. Roll on August for another trip to Europe.
Stunning Phil. Brilliant riding when you're trying to take in the surroundings. Love the F bombs 😂. Similar riding roads down south and over on the west coast from here but obviously not the same extent. Looking forward to the next installment mate
Hi enjoying these vlogs thanks. Im off to Stelvio myself in September - could you tell me the route that train tunnel occurred on please -TIA -Ride safe
Hi mate, thanks for watching, youll have an amazing time and i should think therell be less snow in sepetember 🤣 the train throught the mountain is on Route 28 at Klosters, it was scary at the time because we didn't know what to expect but I would love to do it again, and it does give you a 20 min break in the cool. Hope you have a good trip, feel free to message if you want any info that I don't sat in the vids. I'm no touring expect but I'm happy to help if I can 👍
We cancelled a long planned trip to Switzerland this summer because of the floods and all the flood warnings (still active 6th of June). You seemed to go without knowing about it and succeeded never experiencing any of it. Next year we'll probably just close our eyes and go too. Stay safe!
We had booked all the accommodation last year so didn't have much choice. I didn't know about the floods but the route we took showed no sign of them at all. There are environmental issues all over the world but it shouldn't stop anyone going on an adventure, you stay safe too 👍
We went on a train like that a couple of years ago. We were hoping to go over the Furka pass, but it was closed, so we had to get on a train and go under the mountains instead.
Some spectacular riding in this (and a slightly scary looking train ride). Looks like venturing into the city had its rewards with the music festival. You bought the Ducati back to Italy 🇮🇹 Well done with the riding and edit. Cheers
I feel exactly the same mate, can't wait to go again. Yes I use an old android phone for my satnav, got an idmobile similar card in it that let's you use your data in Europe so I can use Google maps for the updates. Been a godsend having maps updating with traffic, especially with some road closures around stelvio 👍
I rode in Europe but in the 80s the French had tolls and the road pirates too alot I thought but really you could flat out haul in most of Europe, Germany had no top speed or speed depending on conditions on the big autobahns.
Hiya, I'm enjoying these videos to see how you're getting on. I'll be doing a similar route myself in September. Just wondering about the vignette. Can't decide whether to purchase one at the border or do it online. I couldn't tell what you did. I'm not one for sticking vignettes to the bike as they're a pain to remove, so I'm thinking online with a digital vignette. Also read that France has these emissions stickers to buy. Did you need one? Thx G
Hi buddy, I bought them online so I didn't have to lose time at the borders. But I only bought them the night before to male sure I didn't waste time or money. The austrian vignette can be bought for a day, a week, a month or a year. I only paid for the day we rode through. Means no stickers and no stopping. There are areas in some French towns that have low emmisions but I banked on the fact most motorcycles are free in all low emmisions zones in the UK and hopefully won't get a fine through 🤣 Thanks for watching and supporting the channel, have a great trip in September, it was the best thing for us and we already can't wait for the next one 😁👍
@AManAstray sounds good, we did France, Switzerland, Italy, Austria, Germany, Luxembourg then Belgium. Didn't need to go through Luxembourg but wanted to add another country 🤣
I really fancy a flip front helmet next, always had to avoid them because camera and mic fitment is a problem to get the best visual and sound quality. I think I'll be getting one soon though 👍
What a ride! 😮 Amazing 🤩🤩 I was in the area near Mulhouse (the Vosges) last year but avoided the town as it seemed like a big urban area - i guess a missed out. Never skip leg day! 🦵 🦵
Great light show at the end. Nothing quite like the sound of Thunder as it echoes around the mountains!!
It was a nice way to end the day, I do love a good thunder storm
What an incredible day! Sensory overload for sure!!! Great video, thanks so much for sharing!!!!
Thanks Patrick, always a pleasure 🙏
Geez! So incredibly beautiful!
It was mind blowing 🤯
One word. Epic.
That was fantastic mate. Another year and you'll be retracing MDB's tracks 😁
🤣🤣 I would never subject my bike to any of the rides he does 🤣🤣
Thanks buddy 👍
Switzerland looks amazing, beautiful!!
I honestly couldn't get over the scenery through Switzerland. Amazing country
@@wsmv just on camera was amazing, I can’t even imagine what it was like being there!
This brought back memories of the last time I was in Switzerland and Italy in 1996! Lovely memories of marvellous roads!
I loved those roads so much, will have to go back amd explore further 👍
Hard to put into words what you were seeing there.
It's mind blowing. What a trip, so much better when it's dry. Really nicely put together.
Thanks ER, really given us the taste for some touring further than cheddar gorge 🤣

Awesome stuff Phil, looking to be quite an amazing trip 🙂
It was buddy, already planning the next one, cheers mate 👍

I'll remove my helmet for the lady at the fuel station. She wouldn't even have to ask.
I'm loving this series. Can you do it more often?
😯 mate this one nearly killed me, but if you insist, I'll leave tomorrow 😁🤣

Hi mate what a epic ride .
Rolley
Thanks Rolley, glad you're enjoying it buddy 😁👍
Nice Vlog!!!
Thanks bud 🙏
I do find riding the bike great fun but also very tiring
It certainly can be, especially in the extreme heat and when you have to focus hard in rain or in the dark. But we still love it 😁
When the weather is good Switzerland is a biker's paradise with excellent roads and fantastic scenery.
Lovely vid, Weston.
We were so lucky with the weather, it couldn't have been better through Switzerland 🙏

It was life changing seeing all those places from the saddle of a motorcycle 😁👍
What a beautiful trip 😍
Switzerland has been on my radar for a while. Must cross (🇨🇭) it off my list soon.
You would love it buddy, but wait until you see Austria 😍
@@wsmvIve been to Austria. Would love to see it again.

Thanks guys, it was amazing going through Switzerland, a real eye opener 😎👍
Makes me want to go back on tour again after just returning!!! Is that a phone for your nav?? Cheers 🎉

Some moneys worth 💰

Yeah sadly with the luggage amd Mrs on the back I couldn't really explore the German autobahn to its fullest 🐌😔
Riding a motorcycle on a train, that’s different!
And very scary 😨
