With the aid of your super video, I was able to replace the plastic (fake metal) trim around the gear shift on my 2010 A6. Although you were addressing another situation, your pictures and audio clearly showed me how to replace that nasty trim piece. During a below-zero stretch of 3 days, the metallic-looking finish on the trim piece distorted and bubbled up. Looked very bad. Dealer said it would be about $1,000 to tear into the console, find that trim and replace it. "BS"!. I ordered the piece from Audi for $60 and with your video as a guide, installed it myself... took 30 minutes. Thanks, man. GREAT video.
You're very welcome!
You're right - some stealerships take a "Michael"
I just had to comment on how you are such an awesome Dad ! Great Patience with your little boy. Makes me smile having raised 9 children myself, been there, done that over and over. Never know If I lost the part or if little hands made off with it. :)
Great Job on your videos. Has helped me work on my sons A6 more then once. Thank you.

Thanks for this great, easy to understand, and complete video. I found that two “side pull” bicycle spokes with spoke nipples and washers or knobs work great for pulling the rear air vent. Saves a bit of money. It takes a surprising amount of force to pull the vent out. I spilled half a cup of coffee all over the MMI buttons - seemed okay for a bit, then everything flashed bright, the display turned off and the buttons stopped working. Following these instructions I managed to take things apart, then I washed the plastic and metal parts, and cleaned the circuit board with alcohol and Qtips. I used an anti static bag (from a PC motherboard) to keep the electronics safe. I put it all back together and everything worked fine! DIY... always better!
Thanks Rick 👍
Glad if it helps.
I'm planning to remove my MMI console for some cleaning job and this video is definitely helpful. Thank you and your lovely family for making it!
You're very welcome 😊👍
Here in 2023 this video just helped me fix my A6. Thank you so much
Back to the future 😁 You're welcome 👍

Thanks so much for the detailed video. I'm no expert but I managed to change the broken button.
Yeaaaah!!!!
You're welcome! I'm not the expert either. The little one was ruling the process.🧐
Thank you! I succesfully replaced the middleconsole of my A6 this week!
Easy 😎👍
Thank you for your video, I have to replace the mmi and this will definitely help me. All the best for you and your family!
Thanks 😊👍
Great Job, thanks and nice patience with your son!
Thanks for the great video. We had the electronic parking brake stuck on the A6 so we followed your advice and stripped out the switch and when we cleaned all the grit and dirt out of it it worked fine. We had a new switch so we fitted it anyway. We managed to get it all back together even without a little helper. He's a cute guy! Thanks again. David
Thank you :) I'm glad, if we could help!
thanks! excellent video. replaced an MMI controller, peeled brake switch and stop/start switch + replaced a defective older cup holder! appreciate the time you took to video this
You're very welcome :) Glad if it helps!
Thank you so much man! Just like a lot of people have said, you saved me so much money and you made it easy.
You're very welcome Mr Wolfy Studios 😎👍
Please thank the little man. His input was thoroughly entertaining. 😂
He was in charge of the process 😎
@@wawayltd he was and im surprised he let you complete the work. You were his apprentice.
My customer spilt coffee on his stereo so had me install a complete new pioneer stereo system with new speaker wires and speakers. Big job I tell you. Only he has brake warning message up and to rule out the module as coffee damaged it, we will replace it. Problem solving. They arent coded to one another are they. The hand brake module to the car?
I don't think they are, but you might need to clear the error.
@@wawayltd hes driving and gets parking fault D1 whatever that means
I don't know what that is, sorry. I'm not as clever as I pretend to be in my videos.
Thank you, David. I greatly enjoy your lessons. Some coins fell behind the cover of the first box (light and cup), so I will have to do all this just to remove them! ;-P
All the best, from Porto Alegre, Brazil.
Just replaced the EPB switch in my A6 Allroad with the help of this video.
Only took an hour with this for reference. Thanks for the video, brilliant job..
Thanks Joe :)
Thankyou for taking the time to make this video. It made the job so much easier for me.
You have a very helpful assistant with you. 😉
Thanks Brian, glad if it helps :)
This is a fantastic video, it's really helped me, the only thing I would say is when removing the back piece, after taking out the vents, there are two clips on either side which you didn't mention, which are a bastard to release, I ended up snapping both, other than that I can't thank you enough for this guide.
Thank you! :) And sorry for not mentioning the clips. Sometimes those clips can vary, the angle of catch varies - some of them can be just pulled out, some have to be pressed with screwdriver. It can vary from model to model.. But I'm glad that my videos help people :) Thank you!
Upon MUCH closer inspection, my 2009 A6 Prestige, has TWO screws holding that console down. I am currently trying to figure out how the heck they got those screws in there. Cant see if they are torx or Phillips.
Hey man thanks! This instructional video saved me a lot of money with my '08 S6. My MMI died because of spilled soda. Had to replace the circuit board.
You're welcome :)
Hi!
It's really for me, like back from the future.)
You did this kind of a job with your family?) And without any kind of nervous?)
Big respect!
You didn't see what was going on behind the scenes 😁 Power of video editing 😎👍
You won my like by your patience with your incredible litlle helper.
Thanks 😊
Great video.....just changed my faulty MMI control unit today.....wouldn't have attempted it without your help!! Thank you.
You're welcome :)
"Uhh just watch this video in a mirror idk"🤣🤣🤣
Hi Nikolay, Much appreciate your sharing your knowledge in such generous way. All the best to you and your family. Mark
Thank you very much! I've replaced the console myself using this guide.
Bravo!!!
Cheers from Italy
Sei molto benvenuto :) Sono contento se aiuta ..
Great video, saved me loads of time and I didn't break anything! 😂 Thanks for posting
Easy 👍 You're welcome 🍺
Great video! This saved me so much money doing it myself. I bought the circuit board for $50. Audi wanted $500 to replace it.
Thanks :)
hey where'd you buy the circuit board from?
Thank you very much for your instructions ❤
I could save so much money 💰
I wish you all the best 🙏
You're welcome 😊👍
Thank you for this video. We have a coin stuck in the space where the lid of the cup holder is supposed to disappear when you open it. Your video might have solved my problem now. :)
Yeah, I've dropped few coins there :))
Yup I have one rolling around there too
Thank you man you save me so much money.. i didnt have to buy the hooks. Or removal tools. When i open the 2 side i put my hand in the back of the vent and push it out. And i use a butter knife to remove =)
You definitely have more skills than me 😉👍
thank you very much im planing to upgrade the panels to piano black so i had to watch how to thanks
You're welcome 👍
The video looks very clear, thank you for providing very useful information. I wanted to replace the cigarette lighter and plug in a usb charging socket for ipad and iphone charging. It was very helpful for you to inform. Thank you for your efforts.
You're very welcome Ahmet 😊👍
@@wawayltd thank you.
@@wawayltd I'm glad to be here
First of all, thank you for walking us through step-by-step. How easy is it to break the clips on the side trim panels? Also, if I need to replace the rear cigarette lighter, can I do so without lifting the entire console?
You're welcome! Pull strongly and slowly and you won't break them. As for rear socket, I don't know, I don't have that car for about 7 years now, and I've lost manuals for it.
@@wawayltd awesome, thank you for that helpful tip
Great video! I like the young apprentice!
Thanks, that's the Boss...
Happy New year! ❄
Thanks a lot, I just changed my hand brake button. You saved me a fortune. Really appreciate the video, thanks mate.
You're welcome 👍
This video helped me immensely, any chance you could do one on removing the steering wheel?
Sorry Patrick, I don't have that car for few years. Try looking for Elsawin on eBay, or my preferred way to get manuals, they seem to have some SSL issues on their website.. Nevertheless here is the link:

Great video. A little long but worth it. Love the family effort involved. Great little helper.

Thanks for the video! I have also some spilled coke in the MMI console making the buttons sticky as well as a "semi-short circuit" in the MMI system. Looking forward to getting this problem fixed!

All what you have to do is to spray alcohol on the buttons, then after seconds everything will be ok. That what I did
Made it look easy! Legend
Thanks 👍 It is easy, once you know.
Thanks man, amazing work. I have the big round MMi button not functioning, I will proceed to clean and hope it 'll works. I 've just bought this used A6 with this problem. Probably caused by some drink spoiled over here... Best wishes. George
Thanks so much for this. It helped me immensely. 👍🏻👍🏻

Great video :) thanks for the tutorial, don't need to wonder around now
You're welcome 👍
Hi, is the parking brake switch an actual electrical component or just a mechanical lever? I have a parking brake malfunction after a spill and the mechanic is advising replacing the parking brake module which rests in the boot which doesn't make sense so I want to start with this
It's an electric switch. It also has a light to see when it's active. I'm not professional, so I don't know where the actual parking brake controller is. If the switch is cheap to buy, i think it would be worth to try to replace the switch first and see if it helps.
Thank you very7 much, cig lighterm not working and you have told me how to get to it Ta
You're welcome 👍
Does the handbrake still work, if you are changing the handbrake button/lever would you need a level driveway. How long did this job take you? Thanks for the video, very useful.
gavan corry Car gives you warning light, but once you put handbrake on and off few times - light goes off. Yes, I think it's much better to do it while car is on a flat surface, not on a steep hill ;) For extra safety - put it in a gear or "P" if it's automatic. Don't remember how long it took me (together with filming and naughty little hooligan it takes longer), I don't think it should take too long.
Thanks for the feedback.
I'll Just call you WAM for short...lol.
Thanks so much for your video. Just purchased '05 A6 Quattro 3.2 and a '04 S4 Both in excellent condition. Subscribed and Thanks Again.

Good job mate. Very helpful. Thank you
thanks :)
I have a question. My mmi control head isn' t working, so i have to change it with a new one. After the change, have i to remove component protection or it is plug and play?
I'm not sure, sorry. I would imagine if could be "plug and play", but I don't know 100%, as I never replaced it with another one.
Nice job. Thank you
You're very welcome 👍
@@wawayltd you should definitely do more videos like this 🥰 I mean with A6 4f
Unfortunately I don't have that car for almost 6 years.. My friends wife recently bought one of these, that's why I have new video about rear brakes. Maybe I'll have a chance to do something else.
Very useful have an a5 and seems most seems very similar

Hey there man, thanks for the video, just put it back together but theres no power going to my Park brake
I have a 2010 Audi A6 2.7 tdi
Any reset codes or advice? Thanks man
Wow, sorry to hear that. If there's no power to the button, maybe a faulty button or bad connection?
Or do you mean no power going to the actual parking brakes on calipers?
Good job❤
Thanks 👍
Thank you for a great video, just want to double up on the positive comments.
thnx to you I did it in 45 minutes. thnx a lot.

Great video, and a lovely family :-) - Please show us how to get to the TPMS unit; I was told it is located in the middle of the car under the dash.
Thanks :)
Unfortunately, that car was gone just over 4 years ago, so I can't make any new videos about it, sorry..
@@wawayltd Thanks for your prompt reply - knowing this, I am hoping that you may have the technical manual to show me where it's located and your advice on how to get to it - I can't find where to download the technical manual for my car (2010 A6 C6 4F 3.0L TFSI).
