Regarding your issue yes you could remove it and use it without the battery and it will work just fine.
Update I seem to have had the same problem of the battery expanding and slightly bulging the keyboard area thank you @ufixtek

regarding your question: unfortunately i don't but if i get the laptop in the shop again i have made a note to make a video for it. it's soldered on board so it does require a soldering skills and tools to do this service.

i was eating a biscuit. crumbs fell into the keyboard and then ants went into the keyboard. over the course of a few days everytime i open the laptop ants would come out of the keyboard. and more of the keys would stop working. they would no longer pop back up when pressed down. is it safe for me to open the laptop myself to try and clean the keyboard? or should i just give it to a professional. plz help me

Regarding your question, your laptop keyboard is needs to be replaced and it is not something that you may be able to do at home, it requires the full removal of the motherboard and back metal plate and lots of work.

regarding your question: im working with battery providers and trying to get notified about the battery production, they keep saying they will start producing. but i am on notification list because we sell them and at the moment the production of this battery in china is on pause :(
we have more than 10 clients that are waiting for new battery.
My battery just stopped charging, the charging led doesn't come on, and it doesn't register as plugged in. I've tested and confirmed it's not the power cord or outlet i was using. Given the battery is basically unavailable is it even worth it to try to put effort into fixing it?

Regarding your question, im sorry to hear that you have one of this laptops, all i can say stay away from them and don't spend money on fixing them as it will slowly drain you money, i do repair this laptops a lot and they are horrible circuit design over all battery failure are at the top, the power regulators for the battery charging start to fail and hard to find. even the battery it self its very hard to get.
try to sell it or use it and it will eventually start giving more issue and die. sorry to inform you about it but this is the truth and i been repairing laptop /electronics for over 17 years.

oh boi i been repairing and servicing laptops for over 17 years and i can tell you that never in my entire life see a brand that doesn't produce enough batteries after production of their laptops. i have few clients that are in a waiting list and we have tried everything to get the batteries but you get a better chance of winning lottery that find a seller for this battery. if i find a seller i will keep posting here.

Why would it be on then when I turn off it won't turn on? Last time I used my Gateway Slimline 14 it was fine. Like usual, I closed it till next time I wanted to use it. But now it won't power on or charge.

Hey, I got the GWETN156-5BK model and my battery got swollen, I've been struggling to find this battery and I was wondering if theres a way to make this laptop work with just the charger without a battery? As it doesnt seem to work without the battery connected.

regarding your question: it should turn on without the battery :/ , remove the battery and power on with charger and wait up to 15sec. if not then you have the new bios that needs the battery to be installed before boot :( let me send a email to battery provider and let me get a compatible battery link

Hello am i missing something because when i replaced a new battery do i have to put the wifi cable that is black and grey in order to turn on?
no the order of the wifi antennas has nothing to do with laptop turning on, even with antennas disconnected it will turn on, leave the laptop charging to 1h.
@@uFixTek Even if I charge it for 1 hour the laptop won't turn on and when you put the charger it's going to see a red flash on the charger plug on the laptop and after hours of charging the laptop turns on by a kinda white screen flashes
when you place back the old battery it does turn on?, if so then maybe the battery you have it has a bad circuit board. we replace this batteries often and never had issues as you having. try different seller batteries.
@@uFixTek so the old battery does the same I turn the power button and it turns on and turns off but it doesn't have the gateway logo as soon you turn it on same with the new battery

if so you may have a mosfet or a bad capacitor on board and to locate that you will need to take it to a shop where they can check components

remove the ram you may have , if you don't have a removable ram stick then the issue is coming from one of the on board ram.
@@uFixTek I think it doesnt have removable ram, BUT if it was the RAM shouldn't it happen even when the battery is connected? the laptop only works when the battery is plugged. The thing is that my battery is VERY swollen, And I don't want to use it with that potential bomb inside
ah i misunderstood you for a moment, ok go to the bios and look for option "disable battery" they implemented this option on most recent bios, if you have updated the bios loo for that, if not update the bios then try looking for that.
because this laptop in this video we have used it without the battery connected. also sometimes when the battery starts getting swollen, it will pull more amps from the charge components on the motherboard, and as it is not fully charging the components keep over heating and feeding the voltage and results in transistor damage.
and those transistors are gates and when a gate stays open and not close it can cause this issue that you facing.
NOTE: in the store we have seen batteries (swollen) explode, without even being connected.
it is a time bomb inside or outside.
get a new battery on aliexpress.com search for " battery Gwtn156 4Gr" there is one seller that has it.

regarding your question: there could be few stuff wrong with it, battery is bad or on motherboard the battery charge section is bad, you can do this step and hopefully it resolves your issue else you need to replace the battery or take it to a good technician,
STEP:
-Press the Windows key + R key.
-In the Run dialog box, type devmgmt.msc and press the Enter key.
- In Device Manager, click > or + sign next to Batteries.
-Right-click Microsoft ACPI-Compliant Control Method Battery and click Uninstall.
-Click OK to confirm uninstalling the driver.
-Restart the computer.

you will need next to take it to a tech shop where they can run a battery test with battery testers directly on battery as they go bad because inside the battery there is a circuit that is dedicated for discharging and load balance, if its bad you need o replace the battery this is normal we do get them in the store often, sorry that i couldn't help you.
