GW2 Celestial Virtuoso or Celestial Mirage - Solo Champ Fight

Build Links below. I'm not an expert Mesmer player by any means and I made a number of mistakes playing against this Champion in the Cursed Shore. Still, I wanted to show a comparison between the Cele Mirage and the Cele Virtuoso. The traits are the same between both builds, minus the elite spec; and the equipment is all the same for both builds.

Not sure where my comments regarding cvirt improvements went. Not taking bloodsong on cvirt is a big loss on damage and on healing, as is not taking dueling (dueling alone doubles your dps, and not taking a dagger/x throws away a big part of what makes condi virt damage work (or celestial)).

The Mirage definitely felt smoother, and it took about half the time to beat the boss compared to the Virtuoso. They both wore the same gear and build; I have the Build Editor links for both in the video description.

neither of these builds seem like very optimized solo builds. For comparison, I killed this boss in less than 60s on a power chrono ( without clearing adds and on my first try).

To be fair, and I really mean no offence to the player, but the staff Mirage skill level wasn't great here. I have been playing double staff Mirage for years. It is literally all I play. In PvP, In WvW, in all PvE content. I know exactly how it works, what buttons to press and when, and what builds to use. I kill the boss in this video in just over a minute on my Mirage. I might do a video on it actually.

This makes sense. Virtuoso damage is meant to scale with crit Chance, celestial stats won’t give you the crit chance needed for a condition build to function as well (celestial builds are reliant heavily on condition damage).

Very true. I had heard so much about how great Cele Virt was in WvW that I wanted to try it in PvE too. My Crit Chance was surprisingly high, 89% with Fury even using Cele stats but I know Condi Virt really needs that 100% Chance to function well.

Great vid, i think virtuoso is better with other weapons and also a more agressive gear cause you can use the bleed on crit and you heal on bleeds , mirage is just a beast with staff , try axe/staff on mirage it is awesome

Yeah I've tried a full Rampagers set on Virtuoso but for the way I play (I get myself into a lot of trouble lmao) I felt too squishy. I decided to try Cele Virtuoso because of GuildJen's WvW guides that still used Staff. I agree that Staff Mirage is a beast, it's actually the second part of this video lol.

@@samuelvine i saw it all prior to commenting , i tried virtuoso in wvw but went back to chrono , i dunno virtuoso is just into pure dps or nothing spec

@@hugovellver5114 Chrono seems great in WvW lol. I remember I went in on a power Reaper one day and got attacked by a Greatsword Chrono... I got bursted down from 100% shroud and 20k health in less than 4 seconds. Wild lol
