- Come along as we prepare for opening day of early teal season here in Louisiana and ultimately experience opening day as well. We had a great hunt and managed to get a limit of birds! Then we cleaned and cooked them up and I got to witness the boys have their first taste of wild duck! It is a moment I am for sure glad I documented. Thanks for the continued support yall!

My son shot his first Teal opening day and he got his second this morning. Looks like I’ll be wrapping todays kill in bacon this evening. Congrats and I must say it only gets better when your children are beside you in the blind.

Looks like so much fun! I bought my first duck call a few months ago, a teal call from Duck Commander. I’ve been practicing and I think I’m getting pretty good at the right sound. I watch y’all’s vids on different duck calls. God bless. ✝️

I’d usually cook a couple ducks up in the blind. Salt pepper on lil duck cubes cooked on a small frying pan over a heater. When almost done cooked I’ll poor some orange Mountain Dew in the pan and cook it down to a sauce. It’s the best sweet tasting duck ever. I cooked it down to much one time and it became a hard candy like coating on the meat once it cooled. My hunters really liked it. I think the sauce version was way better.

Justin how do you grill/smoke the okra? Never thought about doing that before. We always cut and fry. I'd like to try it on the grill now!
I toss in olive oil then season with an SPG seasoning and cook til there’s a noticeable color change. So good!

I for sure cook the whole duck later in the season. These early season ducks have a mixed diet and I dont particularly care for how they render down
