As a big fan of the show and want it to air season 4 and 5. It's crazy for Dark Matter to be cancelled. We are asking just for 2 more seasons as planned. This show was different. Ask Joe Mallozzi to go talk to Netflix about the final two seasons.

I wish it would be that easy, but it isn't.
Right after they were cancelled, the creator of the show tried to negociate a smaller 4th that would have brought the storyline to its end, but SiFi refused after deliberations. By that time, the contracts for the actors were ending and some of the actors went on to other projects. (Even actors gotta eat)
Even if Netflix did want to save Dark Matter, they would have had a hard time with schedules and contracts and so it is pretty much a certainty that we won't see a season 4 and 5 of this cool show. Maybe a movie like with Firefly ? But probably a comic at most or just a sum up of the story on the creator's blog.

Just watched all the seasons and it has been the best Sci Fi series I have watched for a long time. I just can't believe they never allowed the story to finish. Why do they do this to a lot of Sci Fi, so wrong to make such a good series and then just dump it and forget about all the people who got really in to it. So sad 😞

Dark Matter envisioned a brilliant, compelling, dark, creative and insightful vision of the future.
Meanwhile, here in the real world, we are fast approaching a near future without a SyFy channel. But unlike Dark Matter, SyFy shan't be missed.

netflix's scifi section is littered with tons of 2-3 season shows that never get any closure and its really starting to piss me off.

I have a hypothesis that the average person is stupid and does not have the imagination to get immersed in sci-fi or fantasy and does not have the brain power to handle a B or C plot. This is why T.V. is littered with reality T.V. shows, while there remains only a handful of good shows that don't get canelled 3 seasons in. Tiny attention spans and tinier brains.
I literally just got done watching all 3 season wanted to figure out when season 4 comes out and this is what I hear I'm so mad and feel like I wasted my time watching all three seasons

I agree, all the actors were so good and the story line was awesome. I just feel like I've been woken from a really great dream.
Been burned so many times, it started with Farscape for me when that was cancelled. Can only hope they can close it like they did with Farscape, fans deserve it, the story deserves it

Don't stop watching all their shows. The Expanse is the most amazing Sci-Fi show I've ever seen. If you haven't seen it you need to. That show is the only thing keeping me watching Syfy channel now.

SyFy, aka Suck'nDie, has become nuthin' but a garbage channel, and they continually cancel really good sci-fi shows and just leave everything dangling.
Somebody higher up the food chain should just get rid of SyFy permanently.

Thank you for sharing your thoughts and feelings about Dark Matter. I truly believe it had the potential to be as great or greater than Star Trek (a show I watched with my dad growing up) and continued to follow in all it's "evolutions". I very much hope that there will be an amazing way to see the show again in the future...for the cast, for the fans and for the creator. Still very sad that money has determined the worth of an amazing show.

Everything about Dark Matter got better with every season! I was shocked when SyFy cancelled it, and haven't watched a SyFy acquisition or original since.

Ever since Star Trek Voyager wrapped so long ago, I've been searching for a great high-scifi show to get into. I watched this online and boy did it not disappoint. I was worried that they would lose narrative focus and the whole 'lost memories on a ship together' was all they had. Boy was I wrong. I can only hope some closure is found. The writers, actors, and crew clearly worked their assess off to make this and cancellation is as unfair to them as it is to the fans

I don't see why something like Hulu or Netflix is off the table though , I've seen garbage appear on there that should never see the light of day, this would be a breath of fresh air for once.

I have started this dark matter as a random series and really paced up my watching so the point where i have to go for season 4 came really soon and boom that was a horrible surprise on my face the show is cancelled 3 years ago🤦🏻♂️ which means no hope also the situation was very pathetic when you don't even have the hope.😌

The final of the third season was really epic, it deserves a continuation. I really feel Stargate vibes from this show, as main characters evolved over time (same case for SG characters) and I am not surprised as Joseph Mallozi is sort of behind DM and was working on Stargate back then as well.
I really like this show, its narrow but also deep. Nothing feels forced in here like it does in many new shows.
I'm down to the last 3 episodes and thought that surely there has to be at least another season since the show seemed to be ramping up towards that direction. It's a shame it was canceled.
Soooo hurt still that this was cancelled! Still hoping somehoe somewhere someone picks up this great show! I know it has been over a year but still, this show is SOOOOO worthy to continue. As much as I like Science Fiction, I HATE SYFY for what they did to this and the Expanse! Thanks God we were able to save that but so bummed we haven't YET saved Dark matter.

I was bummed that Netflix didn't pick it up since they have LITERALLY billions they are spending on lameassed shows and movies. They could have easily picked up the last two seasons although I think if it had been successful they could have gone longer.
I would love to have seen what the last two seasons he had ideas for. I've been to his blog. He STILL talks about that show.

I remember when this show came out and i didn't want to wrap myself up in another syfy show because they like to cancel all the good shows like firefly, helix, etc. Then i saw Netflix had all 3 seasons which i binged watched and i wanted to see season 4 and was so angry to find this out.
He and Zoie Palmer gave the best performances in Dark Matter, IMHO.

I just got done watching every episode and was actually quite angry to find out its not going to be allowed to finish. I dont get into most shows, but totally got into this one and wish I could have seen the story play out.

So sad this show cancelled, I found it 2022 and watch over, over till Sfy took it off . With no closure to the cliff hanger we were left with this so sucks.

The issue is the audience who watch this show contain a large portion of techies who simply download.
To be honest SyFy as a TV channel is behind the times. The audience for this are on Netflix and amazon prime.

It comes down to renegotiating contracts with the actors and actresses because they didn't renew the show in time, so if it hasn't been announced for season 4 by now it probably wont be which is a shame.
A 5 year arc, sounds like Babylon 5. I'm always so sad when good shows don't get a chance to finish out their story.

Just finished watching DM again(3rd time).
As soon as i saw the dark matter in the eyes and the portal to another space i had a feeling it would be cancelled.
Anything relating to dark matter(melanin) and revealing too much too soon will be stopped.
OK, reason was supposed to be that it could not be monetised it as it was not their own show, but experience tells me it goes way deeper than that. Many shows with too much revelation are usually cancelled.

And it would have been the end of The Expanse except for a fan of the show that owns Amazon. SyFy really suck at this. They have no appreciation of the material. It is just stupid crap to them that happens to make money, and if it isn't the newest show with the initial curiousity factor, they see a drop of a few percent and bail.

Anthony Lemke is my favorite character and always will be at first I didn't like him but as the seasons went on I saw a whole different side of him which makes me sad that the series got cancelled I just have 2 more episodes left to watch
