I love the ending. I felt the closure, I really experienced that annihilation as paradise because to me, there was so much recurring pain and suffering that every character of their world were condemned to: Helge's getting his head bashed, katharina getting her head bashed by her own shitty mom... Noah and Elizabeth losing their daughter, Jonas losing Martha, Martha losing Jonas, claudia loses Regina to cancer...it goes on and on every one is subject to great pain which in turn incite them to cause great pain on others, and all that recursively ad infinitum. They found peace at the end, I felt the peace and was relieved for them.

@@SaltPepperEconomics A lot of people keep saying that the idea of choice came very suddenly. Not true. The idea of using quantum entanglement was explained by Eva and then Claudia in the last two episodes. Agreed, it seems like they created this concept all of a sudden, but the moment of apocalypse was used to open the passage by Jonas so it's importance was always highlighted. Then, Claudia very clearly mentioned that she had to do a lot of background work to reach this point to find out how to keep Regina alive. She had to be able to use the moment when time stood still without having any cause and effect make two versions and only then the choice was possible. And since Tannhaus's kid was saved for the first time, rest nothing happened but that doesn't mean the events never took place in the first place.
@@jobrosachin i think what we need to understand is the concept of cycles. Theres a reason they say its happening again and again in a loop. Things don't happen just once and there are miniscule changes in each cycle. The young jonas we're introduced to is but one cycle in maybe 100's and 1000's of them. Technically the young jonas we were introduced to (of who knows which cycle) first split off into two people during the apocalypse. One who died at the hands of martha and another who became stranger/adult jonas by 2050's and then travels back to trigger the events of season 1. Its weird to think of cycles because in a way its all happening in an instant. But it happened, even if it didn't leave much of a signature in the origin world. And the echo of that signature is the deja vu hannah experiences at the dinner table when she stares at the yellow jacket. Also i suppose the origin world also has a 'superposition' reality where his son dies and doesn't and we were just shown the position where it all worked out. Not sure about this. Or the origin universe is now set (no superposition... I'm hoping its this). It has an invisible record of the offshoot chaotic universes it created because of tanhauss's son dying but now that its been revised the only indication of that revision happening is jonas and Martha popping up to change events and deja vu of the people outside of the knot but involved with it.
Props to her indeed. She really leveled up her acting on season 3 and to think think that she played 3 different versions of Martha this season. That must have been hard to do
Dark's ending brought me some kind of sadness but also relief. I felt good that Jonas' nightmare had finally ended, but I was also sad knowing that was the only way for it to end.
I kinda wish that when they ttaveled to the orgin world that they appeared on the bridge and were the cause for the car swerving off the road. Thus one dimention created Adam, one dimention created Eva, and the third dimention created the Garden of Eden; the worlds that they exist on. The three branches of the Sic Mundus Est symbol.
@@SaltPepperEconomics Maybe the writers made a choice to give closure to everything. But to think about it. There have to be parallel universes of the original world too which makes sense as shown in the last ep about the dream/deja vu of Hannah. And maybe from that parallel universes of the original world there still exists the other worlds of Eva and Adam. So to be honest there's no closure in that sense lol.
Dark series also shown reincarnation as a quantum Immortality concept, Katherina died in first world and reborns in second World, she then died in second World during apocalypse but her soul remembers her suffering during the lost of Mikkel that's why she was hugging Mikkel during apocalypse, Peter died in first world and reborns in second World, that's why he was feeling like he have met Jonas, when Jonas first time came to his world, because he have given him therapy, Martha have also born in second World that's why she was saying that when I met you Jonas I felt I met you before, Magnus Does all time travel thing with Jonas and reborns in second World and that's why he was satisfied during Apocalypse of second World because he have done so much work so his soul was satisfied. Similarly Francisca also done so much work and reborns in second second World and she was not having voice because she disrespected her sister who can't speak and her soul was also satisfied during Apocalypse of second World. but Jonas born again in his own universe but in Scrodinger cat theory, quantum immortality, that's why he never born in second World because he was always present in his world, his soul never gone their to reborn. But they all reborn in third world through different parents and reunited. The paradise. yes it may possible that quantum immortality concept of quantum physics can exist in real we just don't know that we are immortal and we will be become our Ulternate version of Scrodinger cat experiment, as Jonas felt something when he first read the letter of Martha, because he knows then only that The lines he said to real Martha can't be known by the Martha of other world. So it may be all version of all characters were past and future life of each other. And that is why he became Adam from Jonas. There is also a hint given in episode 5 of season 2 that in staring scene Middle Jonas dreamed where he is with Teenage Martha on bed and then suddenly Martha belly Ejects black liquid and that was their son, the origin, he was shocked because Adult jonas never goes to Martha for intercourse on bed , but because in true sense he goes to Martha world and died and reincarnated in alternate version.
I read that the actor had an accident so they had to include it in the series, but it wasn't planned. They started to make a running gag out of it because he is asked how it happened every season but is interrupted before he can explain. I think it's perfect to leave it open.
I thought it was a funny troll that they never answered it and I loved how they kept teasing us, I wouldn’t have it any other way. In fact, I think I would be disappointed if they told us what happened to his eye.
1984PCA We do. Boris killed someone in Malburg and came to Winden. Clausen got a letter from the origin that said he’d find answers in Winden. Clausen comes to Winden and finds who killed his brother and triggers the apocalypse. There’s nothing more to the story.

Take notes David Benioff & DB Weiss (GOT producers) and JJ Abrams & Damon Lindeloff (Lost producers)....this is how you write a masterful sci-fi tv series....in writing your show you have an ending in mind and story arc/map out how to get to that ending, and write only the number of episodes necessary to tell your story.
Totally agree with you. Besides, there were no plotholes: every single character was carried out along with their narrative to a seamless conclusion. I guess the senses of "COMPLETION" and "PRECISION" of the Germans made possible this awesome series. Very neat.
@@ProfEdDiaz No plotholes?😂😂😂😂Dude this series too had plotholes ...Altho I can neglect them because ending was good, sad and complete tho filled with plotholes...

Such an amazing show. Well written and expertly filmed. Not a single person left dissatisfied. Not the actors. Not the crew. Not the viewers. Just utter perfection. This show deserves to be remembered for years to come.
I was somewhat dissatisfied. According to the ending, the origin world is the only true single timeline. But according to everything else they said, all timelines still exist. So everything that happened will continue to happen in an endless loop!
@@TokyoBlue587 yeah but here is where it gets confusing,if Martha and jonas didn’t exist, they wouldn’t have been able to stop the accident, they can only stop the accident if they existed.so I guess there is another timeline where the loop still continues.
8:34 A plausible, more pessimistic alternative ending: The second Jonas and Martha appear in front of Tannhaus' son's car they cause the accident in the first place. Their final attempt to prevent the accident, causes the accident. Everything is a dytopian, never ending loop.
I Legit thought that this is what they were doing and I was screaming at the TV because I thought they had NO IDEA that this was part of the loop and thank God that wasn't the case. I don't think I would have emotionally recovered if they ended it like that
The fact that they ended it perfectly shows how well planned the entire thing is. Nothing feels like a filler and unnecessary. It was all well paced and perfectly timed from the very beginning.

Their acting during the show and what else I have seen of Louis is insane. I also loved how Lisa gave off such a different vibe fot mirror Martha, although the bangs also played some part in it. But the way she talked, her facial expressions, her body language and her decisions really do differentiate to the "original" Martha. Hope to see more of he in the future.
Louis truly said it right, the ending feels so real because it was closure for the actors as well. I've never been so satisfied with an ending of a show. I hate endings even when they are happy because I don't want them to end. But this one was so perfect. I saw the footage of the team after they wrapped and you could feel the emotion. He might. But I just wanna say that "big american movies" are perhaps very popular, expensive and actively fed to general audience, but it does not make them the best movies in the world. I'm sure that young German actors may have other career aspirations than being the next Avengers or w/e :)
@@Chrisratata I'm afraid not. In Berlin and Munich it's more or less okay, or in some university towns.. But otherwise, it's hard to meet an English-speaking person in Germany.
Would be refreshing though to see him acting as someone else than a Nazi or any other kind of villain there, because that seems be be the only job Hollywood has to offer for German actors.

AHH, finally. There are now a temporary influx of interviews conducted to the cast of this show-as predicted but still, we had to wait for so long! It's not easy finding interviews of someone who isn't too much of mammoth figures in the media, and when I did find something, I couldn't understand it and there are no subtitles. Thank you, interviewers!
As if I couldn’t have fallen any harder for Louis, he asks an interviewer “what about you? What do you listen to?” During and interview solely for him. Plus he mentioned Canada so there’s a chance he may know I exist.
These two attractive and talented young actors now have the world at their feet. I wish them long, successful acting careers, not necessarily in Hollywood but anywhere they wish.
At the end, Tannhaus was successful. He turned back time and saved his family without even knowing it. But he caused a lot of pain and suffering to achieve this goal. I thought it was a great line when Marek, Tannhaus' son, just sort of knew that he should accept that the "bridge is closed" even though it was obvious that it wasn't. I liked the concept of the two angels and the climactic scene of them two disappearing from existence and accepting it. Not like a suicide, but a relief. I'd like to believe that Hannah's new "Jonas" will be the Jonas we know, and that Katherine will have a Martha of her own just like the one we know. It would stand to reason - I mean, if Elisabeth for example can be her daughter's mom and daughter at the same time (lol), then Jonas can be Jonas without Mikkel as a father...agree? This is what I'd like to believe.
Sorry I know this an old comment but since no one replied here I go: No Jonas & Martha could never look the same with different fathers. Elizabeth has only one set of parents: Charlotte & Peter. It just so happens Charlotte's mother is her own daughter thanks to time travel.

Crazy, I was talking about Dark to my girlfriend yesterday, and how they manage to make perfect sense of everything in this ending that wraps all of it so masterfully, and the two counter examples I came up with were Lost and GoT. I think it should really be a rule for series that they know from day one how many seasons they plan to film and where it's headed. Personally, I feel that the show runners literally had everything mapped out to the end from the beginning. I can't imagine doing a show like this and just "making it up as you go". You can tell, by how interconnected it all is, that this took a lot of planning prior to shooting even the very first episode.
At the very end I was specting that Jonas and Martha were the reason of the car accident so everything will begin again. Probably theh could randomly appear on the bridge and trigger the accident. That could also be a nice ending, just an opinion :)
Yeah i tought that too, but I'm glad it went this way, because if it happened so they'd trigger the accident, someone would start milking the show with new season so much it would become stupid.
Maybe it’s not the only outcome. Maybe the outcome where J and M appear on the bridge and trigger the accident is another altenate reality they chose not to show 🙂

I concur, the ending was a closure. And I felt like it was just complete in its own way.
MrSidney9 Exactly. I loved it. It’s very original and brave of the producers to be bold enough to do something like this.
I dont get why they had actual choice all of a sudden out of nowhere. It was never explained. Claudia just said it and all of a sudden they had choice. Also since they saved Tanhauses kid, they were never created in the first place, which means they could never stop his kid. It makes no sense. I found the writing at the end to be extremely lazy for a show that is so unbelievably smart.

Me realising his name is Louis
My mind: His name is Jonas, don't believe anything else
I'm still disappointed that we don't know what happened to Wöller's eye.
Neither do we know the origin of Alexander/Boris :(
1984PCA We do.

Very neat.

@@bryanf6638 The entire point of the ending was that they prevented the origin of the time machine, so the loops would no longer exist.
Everything is a dytopian, never ending loop.
honestly when they appeared and made the car swerve i thought that would happen. Glad it wasn't the case
maybe it happened but we were shown the reality when it didn't
I don't think that would be possible since the third world wasn't part of the loop.
I thought this would happen too and thought it would work if they were forever stuck in the loop but still the thanos ending is cool too
I Legit thought that this is what they were doing and I was screaming at the TV because I thought they had NO IDEA that this was part of the loop and thank God that wasn't the case. I don't think I would have emotionally recovered if they ended it like that
The fact that they ended it perfectly shows how well planned the entire thing is. Nothing feels like a filler and unnecessary.
It was all well paced and perfectly timed from the very beginning.

@@annawolff3135 He didn't cry that much, really. He was always sad and barely ever smiled, but I don't understand why some people say that he cried so much.
Their acting during the show and what else I have seen of Louis is insane. I also loved how Lisa gave off such a different vibe fot mirror Martha, although the bangs also played some part in it. Ay mate don't wanna step into 2020😹
At the end, Tannhaus was successful.

It's surprising to hear these two actors that we've come to love so much, speak English so fluently. Louis spoke almost like a proper Englishman.
