In Germany, co-sleeping with a baby is completely normal. Babies don't always cry at night just because they're hungry or have a stomach ache. They need the security of their parents, some children more and some less. For me, it was always the best decision because we all got the most sleep that way.

    • @kristenshaw1996
      @kristenshaw1996 2 месяца назад +17

It’s normal here in the states too but our medical providers frown upon it because of risk of rolling on the baby. So no one admits to doing it most of the time but I personally know so many mothers who snuggle up with there babies and sleep.

The fact that you even have the energy to get up and work out is amazing to me. You couldn’t have paid me a million dollars to do that when I was getting no sleep. Give yourself alot of credit.

Hey Aspyn, I‘ve been a silent viewer since before your guys‘ first home, and I just wanted to commend you for keeping on going! It seems like things are not always easy but you still find a way to get through it and focus on the little things that matter everyday. I wish for you to have a happy, easy fun life where you get to be creative in ways that fulfill you and live in a place that inspires you. Obviously I only see tiny parts of your life through the vlogs, so my insight is superficial. But watching them feels comforting to me and I thought maybe sharing my thoughts could be comforting to you. I genuinely wish you all the best!

I just have to say, as a long time follower and a pregnancy twin of yours, this has been the most relatable vlog I have ever watched of yours. My girls are all within a couple months of yours age-wise and I struggled right from the beginning of my motherhood journey. I have watched your content as a source of comfort and, not that I want any of us mama's to struggle, hearing you share some of the things you're struggling with baby girl, it just is so nice and relatable. Sending you healing and positive vibes! Speaking from experience, difficult newborns are really easy infants/early toddlers.

Regarding breastfeeding, I just wanted to say hang in there a few more weeks if you can. My son was born a few weeks early, and was super fussy at the breast. I breastfed my first for over 2 years so I definitely wanted to do the same for this one but it seemed impossible. Sure enough when he turned 8 weeks old his facial muscles suddenly got stronger and he was able to suck a lot more milk out. I think babies who are born a little earlier are just more weak and sleepy at the beginning and will eventually get the hang of breastfeeding

He still often wakes up 3 times and night and he’s been that way since he was a baby. 😮‍💨 being a mom is so hard and tiring and everything! Hang in there. Also, my daughter legit spit up like 10 times after each feeding. I bought a pack of white gerber bibs and it saved me from changing her outfit 1000x a day! I would just have to swap the bib and not the outfit! Good luck!

My 2nd and last baby only lasted about 7 months breastfeeding and that was so hard. I just had to stop trying and bottle feed formula because my supply dropped too. I didn't like exclusive pumping either but had to do a lot for both especially my preemie NICU boy (1st baby) so that was very hard too! He was very hard to get to sleep cuz of the NICU schedule and I just had to cosleep. So exhausting! Find out what exercises to do to be safer for your back. It’s crazy how similar your pregnancy and experience with this baby has been to mine. Although I’m a first time mom. I had a subchromatic hemorrhage during my pregnancy. My baby wasn’t gaining enough weight and I had to breast feed, pump, and give baby a bottle. She is now 8 almost 9months and has never been a good sleeper and still isnt. I am also not comfortable with cosleeping but it’s the only way she will sleep so I end up staying up all night and letting her sleep on my chest. She has gained good weight and loves to eat now but her digestion is a huge struggle still and she gets tummy aches easily. I wish I could share some wisdom but all I have is It’s hard but you got this!

I heard you say your new one has been spitting up alot! Does she have acid reflux? Ours woke up every 30-45 minutes during the night bothered by her acid reflux and was super fussy. As a last resort we did end up putting her on a stomach acid reducing medicine and it helped so much. We also slightly elevated the head of her bed and kept her upright for 15-30 minutes after feedings and it all helped with the spitting up and her sleep.

As a PT, I recommend continuing to go to pelvic floor PT and Pilates will definitely be a better option than orange theory right now to help your back. Idk what the chiro is doing for you, but if they are continuing to do adjustments where you hear a pop, it actually could be making things worse. You probably have more mobility in your joints than you should have and strengthening/PT exercises are better for you right now. 🙏🏼💕

My baby was born at 32 weeks and I get it! She was in the NICU for just shy of a month. It was not good on my mental health as in she had a feeding tube up until 2 days before release. I exclusively pumped for her every three hours for a month. And I still had to pumped after cause she wasn’t gaining weight I had to fortify my milk and give a bottle every other feed. Thankfully I had a loving and helpful husband who fed bottles through the night. It’s hard😩 but FED IS BEST

What you’re going through with this baby sounds a lot like the struggles we had with my first. She was a premie too, and struggled with sleeping, colic, and feeding. Just know that you aren’t doing anything wrong. Some babies just are more challenging. With my daughter we alternated breastfeeding and formula feeds for 7 months until she eventually started refusing the breast. I wish I had heard of more people combo feeding at the time because I felt like it had to be one or the other, and it didn’t

I totally understand not wanting to sleep with baby but I can be so helpful 😭 look into the safe sleep seven so that you can be the absolute safest bed sharing. You can do hard things mama:) once baby gains her weight you can totally exclusively breast feed. Just don’t give up offering. Also make sure you’re using a slower nipple so baby still has to “work” for it. That can typically be why a baby prefers to have a bottle. A breast fed baby never needs larger than what is considered a 3m nipple. Nipple sizing is a gimmick 🥴

I remember my toddler when he was that tiny, he would do the same. Fuzz every 3 mins, his paci would fall and he would cry. I never co slept because I was so scared and also he had an episode of apnea that traumatized us. The age between 1m-7m is so hard.

I probably won't have another but I have baby fever so watching this video is a great way to get it out of my system 😂 My baby was also a preemie (28.5 weeks) so I'm afraid the next one will be too and idk if I can do that again 😮‍💨

My baby was the same way as yours. She would not sleep very long in her bassinet. She would only sleep if she was held, so I had to co-sleep to get any sleep. We just did it safely. You do what you got to do to survive. With my baby, I also had to 7:31 breast feed, pump, and offer a bottle at every feeding. It is exhausting!!! My doctor said babies prefer the bottle over breast because they don’t have to work as hard to eat from a bottle.

Yeah lots of people have opinions on bed sharing 😬 in other countries it's pretty much standard but in the states it's always looked down on. I didn't plan to but it was either that and everyone got sleep or nobody slept.
My son slept ON ME for the first three weeks of his life. I felt so guilty and nervous but my midwife reassu me that i was doing what was best for us in the meantime. His breathinf synced up with mine which lowered his corrisol levels, so he slept better.
By week 4 of life he was sleeping on his back in our bed because he didn't sleep in his crib or bassinet.
He's 14 months now and still in our bed but he slept through the night without a feeding since he was about 7/8 months. At around 4-6 he was only doing 1-2 feedings over night. Once my husband finishes up his second masters we're planning on sleep training him in his crib but my husband will do it.
My son associates sleep with me since i nurse at bedtime and naps. We've noticed that if I'm not there he doesn't have a choice. So getting him to sleep I'll be in a different room and once he's asleep and settled I'll come back into our room for bed.
I pray it works because i need my space back tbh 😅 we're trying for another baby and we'll eventually need the space

My son has always been a bad sleeper: never slept on his own. When he turned 2 we found out he has obstructed sleep apnea. 😩
