I'm responding to your 4 months old comment on Roddy McDowell on the Carol Burnett show. I wasn't aware that Roddy was a frequent guest actor on Carol's show so I appreciate the information. I enjoyed his work as well.
This is hysterical!! I loved the movie The Heiress!! Went With the Wind was great also. Harvey played Rett soooo well!!! This is the first time I’ve seen this one tho…
Which could be miles different from the original. 😅 Could imagine the young lady expose him to some accident but never an explosion. 😄 It’d suit him best though. 😂
Spoiler Alert: In The Movie The ending is she after inheriting her father's fortune becomes an embittered spinster, Morris visits her years later now impoverished, he tries to convince her he Truly loved her and still does, she pretends to believe it and proposes for them to elope like in the past, but then awaits his arrival to turn out the lights of her house leaving his desperately banging on the door, alone and abandoned like her in the past!
@@hana.the.writer5074yes, it’s certainly worth watching it. I discovered it a few years ago when A&E was showing 30 days of great movies before the Oscars. The introductory commentary the A&E host did on the movie was superb. Watch it!
@@hana.the.writer5074 Absolutely! It’s a masterpiece with an amazing Olivia De Havilland performance and great work from Ralph Richardson, Montgomery Clift and Miriam Hopkins. Absolutely satisfying.
Such great writing: "All that beauty and wit is going to be mine, mine mine!" "Yes, yours, yours, yours, will be her beauty and her wit, but not a nickel of her money, money, money. Because when she marries you she will get zip, zip, zip!"
I like the Carol Burnett show quite a bit and even though I will occasionally watch a short clip or full episode I'm super surprised that RUclips has been stuffing my suggested videos with this delightful comedian.
LOOK! its ruddy mcdoubtful!!! ha ha! actually, the FIRST thing that i think of regarding him, is a boy on the schoolhouse steps, declaring "Youre my Lassie Come Home!" ; yup, no other movie scene GETS me like that one, even as im typing this, it gets teary, eh....
For some reason they always cut out the part where Roddy pulls out a little notebook and says (to the best of my recollection) "dear diary: today was wonderful, picked up uggo"
Brilliant. As fresh now as it was in the '70s. Thanks 😊
That alternate ending was just about as savage as the original
Roddy McDowall is one of my favorite actors, and he always made a splash on the Carol Burnett show.

Harvey delivered great lines … I love the dry humor
This parody along with Went With The Wind are my two favorites from the Carol Burnett Show!!! 👍👍🎄🤶
Yes, it is one of my favorites as well! It's so underrated!
@@Buffbino
Not underrated. It got eight Academy Award nominations and won four Oscars. Olivia got an Oscar for Best Actress in a leading role.
I meant that Carol's parody was underrated, not the movie itself. It's one of my favorite films. @@susiem44
There's a great spoof on Born Free with Tim Conway as Simba the lion and another Fred Astaire musical spoof with Ken Berry, dancing fantastically
I love Rebecky and Mildred Fierce lol
The Heiress (1949) starring Montgomery Clift and Olivia de Havilland is a great movie
Olivia won the Academy Award.
It is such a good story...not predictable. They forgot the famous line: "Bolt the door Moriah" 🚪
"Why did the chicken cross the road?"
"I was saying it this morning, it's so cute..."
Best show ever.😂😂😂😂
Korman actually sounds like the brilliant Sir Ralph Richardson in HIS Oscar nominated '49 performance as Dr. Sloper!!❤ 👍
I can't believe I never saw this one!! Oh my gosh. I love her soooo much!😂😂🤣🤣🤣♥️
WITH ALL THE MESS! On this planet! Thank goodness for Carol! Otherwise I would be even more miserable!
“Norris Townsley!”😂🤣. Oh, the brilliance of these people!!!💖💕👏👏👏
Hiding in the piano😅
Perfectly encapsulates the original ~ with a bit more extreme ending!
This is hysterical!! I loved the movie The Heiress!!
Went With the Wind was great also. Harvey played Rett soooo well!!!

Never seen the original but I love this ending!

The original?
The ending a great but totally an exaggeration from the movie
I wish the movie had this ending

The Heiress is an amazing movie. I enjoyed this parody 🙂
STIL WATCHING AND ENJOYING THESE SHOWS..👍♥️👍
Being quite familiar with The Heiress I found this to be excellent.
Is it worth watching?

One of their very best movie take-offs. 😂❤
5:38 "give my regards to ug-o" ROTFLMAO
Great red and pink dress!❤️❤️
Such great writing:
"All that beauty and wit is going to be mine, mine mine!"
"Yes, yours, yours, yours, will be her beauty and her wit, but not a nickel of her money, money, money. Because when she marries you she will get zip, zip, zip!"

I could spend they whole day watching they Carol Burnet Show here in Bogotá Colombia 🎉
My favorite movie, The Heiress...Great parody!
Excellent! A true treasure!
I like the Carol Burnett show quite a bit and even though I will occasionally watch a short clip or full episode I'm super surprised that RUclips has been stuffing my suggested videos with this delightful comedian.
Loved the movie "The Heiress" with Olivia De Haviland and Montgomery Clift.
Good comedic take on the original movie (which wasn't a comedy).
"GET UP YOU CLUMSY OAF!" 😡😠
"Warmth, dear brother, Warmth!"
" _Get up you clumsy oaf_ " 😃
Uggo got beautiful and smart in two or three years!! ❤❤❤😂😂😂😂❤❤❤
"Oh blow it out your saddlebags!"😂😂😂
God I miss good television
Well,well, well, well,well,well😂🤣
I 💗 this TV Show 😅
This is better than the "Gone With the Wind" parody. 🤣🤣🤣
I'm sure the real Heiress would have approved!
Ahhhh Yah, Classic Carol Burnett & Company Comedy. I dont think there's anything Funnier yhan this Show was the 11 Seasons it Ran💙🩵👏👏🤣👍
Hilarious
Just perfect I’m still watching her corny and funny
There are so many cuts in this. I remember there was a version of this that had more.
This is fascinating in so many ways,Monty Clift played the role originally that Roddy played in the CBS& they were lovers as well…..
Loved it!
YAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
THEY DID A PARODY WELL MADE OF THAT MOVIE , CREATING THE ADAPTATION IN A TV SHOW
Pure karma on both men. 😂
LOOK! its ruddy mcdoubtful!!! ha ha!
actually, the FIRST thing that i think of regarding him, is a boy on the schoolhouse steps, declaring "Youre my Lassie Come Home!" ; yup, no other movie scene GETS me like that one, even as im typing this, it gets teary, eh....
Roddy McDowell had a natural elegance that was missing from Korman and the others. He and Burnett were friends.
Why did they cut off the blow kiss scenes?? I love those scenes.
Roddy McDowall:
Carol, you're beautiful to me.
Carol: *2:18*
😂
Carol: 7:26 😁💥7:32!!
Had they ever realized the blooper when time goes by 2 years is shown on the screen but the actors speak of 3 years?
She waited for one year and then two more years passed after that.
For some reason they always cut out the part where Roddy pulls out a little notebook and says (to the best of my recollection) "dear diary: today was wonderful, picked up uggo"
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Airdate March 15th, 1975. Based on The Heiress.
Love it, but wouldn't "The Heir Head" be a better title?
😆😆👍
10:41 🤯💣💥🧨
Cruel ending!!😜
Alwasy great, not like the WOKE crap today.
i lost interest after 5 min.
Classic take on a classic movie. Carol Burnett Show was something to look forward to in junior high. Thank you for posting these clips!
