Original Composition: Canvas (Swing)

Another song from my musical. This one was inspired by Super Mario Odyssey's theme "Jump Up, Super Star!", as soon as I heard that song I wanted to create a cheerful swing song, and thus this song was born!

Hey, what is wrong?
Why do you look so blue?

Because there are clouds all around,
and not a single bird in sight
No matter how hard I search for them,
they’re nowhere to be found
Heavens tainted in grey,
no wonder birds decided to fly away
Too bad we’re stuck, wish I had some wings
then I’d go anywhere

Don’t lose your faith,
if you cannot find a good reason to smile
for we've got a paintbrush that rights that wrong
There's only one thing left to do and that is paint!
Paint a star, one at a time
'Til the dark is no more
and we've completed a sky
a sky that can bring light to every single one
If they're fine, so am I
And if there is somebody with a cloud above their head,
I will say: Let us hang out all day
and wait until the rain has finally stopped

What if the odds are never by our side?

take the reins of our life

it's time for a clean slate
To rid us of the pain,
we gotta find a way to erase the chains
that keep us bound to the same old habits
that won’t let us win

some light into somebody’s day and that
can bring some color to our lives so we can paint!
