My Brothers bought me an old 86 flhtc , have slowly started to fall in love with her .. your videos have helped me out because there isn't a ton of info in the early Evos . People don't appreciate them much .

I just bought an 87 one of those. Mines a FLHS though. Looks exactly like yours except for the color. Mines is blue that turns black in the shade. Same fairing and instrument cluster. Almost 88k miles.
oh 87! very cool and very similar but yours will have a one piece starter instead of the jackshaft type and only a couple other minor differences. hang on to it ill let you in on a secret, EVOs are my favorite! very last gear driven , single cam , carborated harleys and very reliable especially in stock form! thanks for watchin, check out the flathead videos you might like them, gonna see if i can get a flat head 45 harley on here to. i apologise for the late reply i do my best to answer everyone but we all have day jobs lol

Your welcome! I put that video up and a few others on the evo because i had the same problem. Theres a 4 part series where i basically tore the whole bike down and replaced all the seals! We also covered the brakes, and speedo drive replacement! Im glad it helped! Thank you so much for watching and for the kind comment! Ride on!
Finally did the sporster! I didnt realize i handnt done one yet thank you for your comment you inspired me to put more harley stuff up! Please check them out!

When i installed it back it looked like it sits in the right position but it is loose and not gripping the pads , should it be tight ? Do you have a video of the rear breaks ?
@@kingkrimson8771 the present owner is the second person to own it from new and had great sentimental value to him, i was glad to help him get it back to good running condition for him!
@@martyw5721 yes you can put 20w50 in the trans, primary drive case, and the oil tank, but i prefer the harley trans and primary fluid in the trans and primary.

If you watch the flathead videos youll see i mentioned that and used conventional oil with zinc in it! I love my observant smart viewers thank you! Your really paying attention ! Good show sir! Rear brakes are easily an 1.5 hours of labor job. 🤦🏻♂️
They arent hard, but not everyones done them before we put these to help folks of all skill levels
@axlsnakedog I have restored a few mid 80's bikes and I'm here to tell you, they're a challenge to work on. Evo Softails are even worse.

Synthetic oil is not good on those old gaskets. Evo should be conventional oil.

Harley told me to use synthetic on my 92
When will those old wives tales finally die? Using Amsoil synthetic fluids for all 3 holes on my '95 Softail, I ain't scared.
