Thank you for keeping this video up and posted. Proper procedure should never change.
Although this was posted 5 years ago. People like me will always find the extremely value in videos like this. Thank you for keeping this video up and posted.
Thank you I appreciate your comment.
Thanks for your comment.👍😎
Your bike is a credit to you, I have a 1999 FXSTC and run Amsoil synthetic 20w-50 in the engine...Amsoil severe gear for transmission and Amsoil super shift in the primary. Prior to using Amsoil the Harley oil turned dark very quickly and it was seriously difficult to select neutral, with clunky shifting through the gears up and down. All good now though, costs a bit more but performance of the fluids is excellent and I could stretch the service intervals out but don’t....my bike sits in the garage for extended periods so the properties of the synthetics gives me peace of mind. All the best!
Love the stands and the video in general. Thank you.
Thanks for your comment 👍
Awesome work and thanks for posting.
Love those stands! Brilliant! Hopefully they are able to go public. I'd buy a set for sure. Great looking Fatboy as well. Good luck!
please I want to buy also a pair.....but where I am writing here from germany ....is it able to get these here in germany ...shipping, tax aso is too expensive!! Have an idea??
Great Job! Nice ride, shop and stands..

Thanks so much and I love your stands!!!
Thanks for your comment 👍
Probably the DIY video I've watched. Great job. Request, do a video of changing rear tire and adjusting shocks on your fatboy plz
Cool video. Made it look real easy and fast.
Thanks 👍
Sell 'em as a group man ! Many of us would love a pair of these . Make it happen
great video mate thanks

Nice Stands. Great idea

Thanks for the comment 😎🤘
Great vid! Very informative, thank you! I started pausing the vid though, and looking for the stands on Google before I ever read the comments. LOL! Those are awesome! Sweet Fat Boy, as well.
Thank you for your comment 👍
What an excellent, informative and very detailed video on how to carry out an oil service on an FLSTF 1340cc Evo motor. I only wish that I had the dimensions/details on how to build a pair of those fantastic motorcycle wheel stands ... They would save me a lot of time and heartache on my next service ...
Thanks I appreciate your comments. About the motorcycle stands I would love to work with a company to market them. On my own I can't afford to be liable for any lawsuits.
@@randys1996fatboy Hi Randy. Can they not be marketed with the liability placed fairly and squarely on the purchaser, by having them sign a 'waiver' during the purchase process? This would remove any personal liability issues for yourself as by signing a 'waiver', the purchaser(s) wouldf be fully aware that they use the stands they have purchased, at their own risk? If you have 2 stands spare, I would willingly sign any waiver for you and buy them with the understanding that I use them purely at my own risk. This way, should anything happen to myself or my motorcycle when using the stands, I would have no recourse or come-back whatsoever to you or the company, regardning the purchased stands. I just think they're a great design and a very practical motorcycle stand that I'm sure would sell by the thousands ... Willie
Hi Randy, nice bike and equipment. You do clean work. However, your method of checking the primary chain slack is different from mine. I find that when I rotate the rear wheel 360 degrees there are different points when the primary chain slack changes. I rotate the rear wheel with the transmission in 4th gear. Thanks for taking the time to make this video.
Thanks for the tip I'll give it a try next service.
Love those stands
Thank you , awesome equipment and well done video.
Im working on a shop that size , one day at a time , ill get there .
Yaal stay blessed and always chase and receive your dreams .
Good luck with the new shop and thanks for your comment 👍
@@randys1996fatboy Thank you brother 🤜🤛
That is one bad ass shop man,,,nice bike too!

Cool comment thanks!
So, Why in several years has a deal not been made for these jack stands?
Any updates on your motorcycle stands yet? I’m interested too.
I'd like to see it come to fruition looks like a solid product I'd purchase.
Thanks for your comment 👍
Yea me too put me on the list for a set of Quick stands!
i guess I'm kinda off topic but does anybody know a good site to watch new movies online?
@Matthias Damon i would suggest Flixzone. You can find it on google =)
Thanks for the vid
Just checking in to see if you’ve patented these stands or have begun selling them?
thx for ur video ^^
Great video my friend !
Sean L
Thanks 🖒 😎
Good video....how many miles do you have on this bike? I’d still like to buy it
I would buy these right now! Damn shame they haven’t hit the market
Thanks for your comment 👍
Where did you get those stands from trying to find them and I'm having no luck
Randy, nice video! Which pipes did you install? (It's not the stock mufflers I guess..)
Uli Koch
The bike has factory stock shot gun pipes with Khrome Werks slip on muffler.
Nice job!
Jan Sing thanks
Randy how much oil for the engine ,the gearbox, the clutch . HD softial EVO Fat Boy 1999 year. Poland .
Do you have a link to purchase those "Quick" jack stands? And all due respect are you related to Fred McFeely Rogers? The genetic configuration is exacted.
Hello! Please tell me, what kind of oil do you pour in the derby? In the 18th minute of the video. Thanks.
I was using Red Line MTL now called v-twin primary case gear oil
Hello Randy S. Thank you for the great video on changing the fat boy motor oil, transmission oil, and primary oil. I see you get alot of people asking about your stands. If you can't sell them. How about showing some close up pictures of the stands, and let us know what materials are need to make our own sets. Also can you tell me the maker of your floor jack. I can't seem to find that one anywhere. Ever jack I've seen are just to tall. Thank you.....Bill
The "Quick Stands" motorcycle stands - where'd you get them? I want some!
gday mate, best video out there and great to see it done properly not someone doing it out in the dirt backyard. are those wheel chocks /stands available, i was trying to see the name i think quick stands? if so can you let me know cheers.
Randy...I am also interested in the wheel jack stands...how can I get in touch with you
Wouldn't synthetic oil be bad for Harley Evo engine? Also what oil for primary and finally do you measure the dip stick upright?
Hi... I have been using Redline products, I did notice when I switched to synthetic motor oil the motor would run cooler. Please do your own research and yes I do check my oil level with the bike straight up as recommended for my 1996 Fatboy. Thanks for your comment.
Randy- would you please share the brand/name of your wheel-chock jackstands?
These stands are my own design. I had a contract to market them but the company really dropped the ball. That was back in the year 2000.I would have sold them myself but the liability factor stopped me. Thanks for your comment 👍
Do you believe it is necessary to purge the oil system on EVOs like some people do during every 3 hole change?
I never bothered to purge. I always make sure I run the bike for a good amount of time to pump any extra oil from the crankcase back into the oil tank. If the bike sets for a while without being started oil will seep from the tank to the crankcase. My 1996 Fatboy has about 80,000 miles and still runs great.
Where did you get your stand & the items you used to lock down the wheels? What’s the name of all that equipment? Thanks…
The stands are my design. I'm not able to market them myself as I don't want to be liable for any accidents. It would be nice if a company was interested in manufacturing them. Thanks for your comment 👍
wondering if you could tell me where i could find those stands you put under your tires please and ty
The stands are my own design . I had a patent on them and a deal to sell them back in 2000 with the then founder of Indian Motorcycles . When Indian fell apart back then so did my contract. I do have over 100 pairs but do not have product liability insurance. Would only sell them as a group
I know this is an old video post BUT does ANYONE know where I can purchase these stands? Or, do you know if I can have a pair made for me from??? HELP! TY. Kenny
I like the vid but when I change my oil I always drain the oil lines as well. Just the oil lines can hold at least a qt. of dirty oil still. That's how people get dirty oil more quickly. Drain it all. Your bike will love you for it. Be safe out there brothers
Thanks for your comment 👍
Would have been nice to see you purge the oil system on the old EVO. Still a lot of dirty oil in that engine.
Mike Kirk I don't purge because I do change oil more often than necessary. Thanks for your comment.
Randy... "That's a really beautiful FatBoy"! Hope you still have it and enjoy riding it often. I had a Twin Cam FatBoy.... I really regret selling it. Road Glide now. JP
Jim Poston
Hey Jim thanks for your comment. Yes I still have the fatboy don't think I'll ever sell it...bought it new in 1996. Have you seen the video after I installed the six speed with a kickstart ? Road Glide very cool 😎🖒
No I haven't but I've just subscribed to your channel and I'll watch the "kick start and tranny install' videos! Thanks, JP
Looks like your in an airplane hanger... where's your shop? Texas maybe?
Randy... No I haven''t seen that. But I did subscribe to your channel and saw the videos about the "Franken Tranny and the kickstart"... I'll watch them. Looks like your shop is an airplane hanger.... in Texas maybe? I used to have a hanger at a local airport.
Jim Poston
Yeah it's a big shop especially big considering that just two people me & my brother work here. California , San Francisco Bay area.
Where could I get my hands on a set of those stand with clamps to raise my bike off of the floor. I have the jack.
Unfortunately the stands are not for sale anymore. Would be nice if a company would be interested in selling them for me. I get a lot of people asking for them. Thanks for your comment 👍
still wanting a set of those motorcycle stands, lol!
I want a set too, spent all morning searching online before reading the comments. I will help you set up production if you want to pursue it!
I’d sure like to know where to buy a set of those stands to.
big_daddy48@outlook.com
Bill Hunter where to buy stands and frame protection????
jaymz350 Harley Davidson sells the frame protectors. I’m curious about the stands too.
Has anyone heard where to get the stands? Great job Randy. Love some info on the stands. Thank you
Hey thanks for your comment. l designed the stands had a contract to market them but hooked up with people that fumbled the deal. The stands are not available. Sorry
Nice job
Thanks!
I am interested in a set of plans for the stands, Im a welder/fabricator by trade and have access to the material. plans just make it faster, Thanks.
Me too!
Sounds like you're about to buy a cool bike 👍
Not sure about what thread size on a plug if you're asking about the motor oil plug it's a stock plug at the end of a rubber hose that drains the oil tank. I use only synthetic oils. What part of the country are you living?
Adequate, and I like both that (homemade?) non-scratch oil filter strap wrench and I like the plastic oil filter sheet thing (never saw one at my HD dealership.) However, if you search RUclips for the "Delboy's Garage Full Purge" oil change process, I like the way he has the engine crank some 10 times to purge out the last of the old oil as part of the process. Sure it's a bit more work, and a bit more expensive to purge the residual oil, but I'll keep "purging" every time.
Thanks for your comment.
Where did you get your stands Randy? Those are great! How much oil do you put in the filter? Awesome video!
I can fill the oil filter about 1/2 way but you need to keep it turning when putting it in place so oil doesn't spill. The stands are my design and are not available. I had a contract to market them but the company didn't do enough to promote them. Thanks for your comment.
@@randys1996fatboy Thanx Randy!
Could you send a message to me about the jack stand plans?
Omg is there any way to buy those tire lock/ lifts. I see the comments but I see the video was 2014. Are you able to sell them yet. Or is there any place to buy them.
Sorry to say the stands are not for sale. I was hoping a company would take the idea and run with it but that never happened. To much liability for me to market it. Thanks for your comment.
I have looked everywhere and cannot find those motorcycle stands....where can I buy them?
I made them myself they were for sale about 23 years ago. If you know a company that would be interested in producing them I have all of the information. I didn't do it on my own because of liability issues. Thanks for your comment 👍
Where do I find a set of those stands???
Never mind..I just read some comments! that's too bad those are very cool!!!!
Love those bike stands I want to buy a pair are they still available, great stands
A lot of people ask me the same question I wish I could help you but they are not for sale anymore. It would be nice if I could find a company that would manufacture and sell them for me again. Thanks for your comment.
What is the name of those wheel vice clamps that are on top of your stands? Excellent video by the way!
I designed the stands around 1999. The people that were going to market them for me failed and I didn't find another company so I just dropped it.
By the way thank you for your comment.
im wanting a set of those motorcycle stands what do i need to do?
Unfortunately the stands are not on the market. I built them and would love to work with a company that would put them out for sale.
What did you use in the transmission, that rusty red stuff was something I haven't seen before
Doug McMillan
Yeah it looks like a strawberry milkshake when you drain it. Red Line Oil Full Synthetic Heavy ShockProof Gear Oil . Very good oil.
Randy S. The best
That stuff is equivalent to a 250 wt.
Where did you purchase the front and rear stands
Actually I designed them myself. Unfortunately you won't be able to find them for sale. Thanks for your comment 👍
Where did you get those quick stands for your bike??
I made them 20 years ago.
I have 03 HD Fatboy would the procedure be the same with a TC88 engine? Beautiful EVO Fatboy!
They are different
Do you still have the "lot" (100 pairs) of stands? I'm really only interested in one pair. However, I may be interested in all of them if the price is right.
Nice video. Much appreciated! Just curious, are the fluid capacities on your bike same as on my 94 softail special?
Philip Mumola
Thanks, If you are going to service or repair your harley softail I would first buy a shop service manual specific to your bike. The manuals have a lot of good information.
Randy S. I have one from Clymer. It's a nice book but no info for an oil change. Your video is more informative than the book.
Philip Mumola
I recommend the official harley davidson manual your's would be 93-94 about $60.
I liked your video..... can you tell me where you got the jack stands..????
I designed and built them. I contracted to sell them back in 2000 but unfortunately I picked the wrong people for the job. To much liability for me to market them on my own. Thanks for your comment.
If we all sign waivers will you sell us a stand? They really are cool and make it a whole lot easier to work on the bike.
Donald Scott
Thanks for your comment. I'm working on some ideas to get my stands out there.
I want those stands, especially for tire changes. I'll pay right now. Serious offer, let me know!
Where/How can I find a set of those stands? Were they home made?
Hi Gary
Yes I did make the stands. I had a patent on them but never sold them liability was a big issue.
nice jack stands
Liam Standish
Thanks
Randy S. Where do u get them?
Liam Standish
I made them. No one sells them.
Randy S. Wow! How much??
Liam Standish
Sorry can't sell them for liability reasons.
I only need one pair. Can you sale me a pair of stands?
How can I find a set of those stands …. 🛠💪🏻
As far as I know nobody sells anything like my stands. I designed and built these stands myself. Thanks for your comment 👍
Hi Again! Still interested in buying those stands
I have read the comments and understand that you are hesitant to sell the jack stands you have built for liability reasons but can we ask that if you get to a point where you might want to offer these up (perhaps with a signed liability waiver which is perfectly legal and keeps you from any problems), that you make a public announcement on your channel.
I can tell you with the interest you have in these jacks there is so much potential as you have a 'ready made' customer base that would not only purchase but provide significant marketing via word of mouth. I am in the business of web hosting small business eCommerce websites and I have seen so many people along the years that would do anything for that kind of product demand. I think a company like J&S Jacks would be very interested in your plans as this has a lot of synergy with their product line. I would definitely not sell the patent but rather just license the plans so you would be free to do the same with other companies. Just a thought.
I wish I knew how to weld or fabricate as I would be building my own set right now. :)
Mark Shipp Thanks for your comment. I do have plans to contact a company that already has product liability insurance already in place. It would be nice to find a company in California.
Thanks again
Randy S. If this happens I'd be interested in a set. I'm in Escondido. I've got a 97 Evo. Great video also.
Where did you get those tire stands?
I designed and built them myself
Wow! That was simple. Now I just need to buy a few thousand dollars worth of jacks and stands.
where can I buy a set of those QUICK Stands?
Unfortunately they currently are not available. Back in 2000 they were for sale but I hooked up with people that were going to market my stands and they didn't know what they were doing after the contract ended go any further with it. I wanted to find a company with product liability ins as I didn't want to be liable.
@@randys1996fatboy If you decide to make more I am sure they would sell out very fast. Especially if you made only 100 of them. I certainly would order a set and have them shipped. Also, this video was very helpful for me. Thank you. I just bought a stock black 1995 Fat Boy 4,668 miles & will be now be able to change out the fluids myself because of this video.
Hi I was curious where you got them jack stands and what they are called
Bobo19941000
The stands are my own creation. I had a patent on them and a deal to sell them back in 2000 with the then founder of Indian Motorcycles . When Indian fell apart back then so did my contract. I do have over 100 pairs but do not have product liability insurance. Would only sell them as a group.
Those are the coolest motorcycle jacks I ever seen and its sad the deal fell through. Thanks for the reply
Bobo19941000 I was wondering where you got those JACK STANDS and what they're called
You could sell them individually with a liability waiver and I’d sign one and buy a set.
Bill Hunter yup I would also
Hey Randy, I you wont sell me a set, can you atleast tell me what is the height of them?Would you consider selling me a set yet?
Indy Live! Hi again... you are very persistent. Soon I plan to contact people that may be interested in my stands. The comments about the video may be helpful. Thanks for your interest. As far as the height that could very depending on your preference.
Do you still have that red Merkur XR4Ti?
Yes
How much would you sell the stands and patent for?
Jorge Gonzalez
If you are serious about it we can talk. I have around 110 pairs and the plans to build them. Unfortunately the patent has run out. I will sell them for less than it would cost to build for sure.
Randy S. I'd possibly be interested in a set
I would also like to purchase a set. How can I get in touch with you?
will you sell me the print and material list?
Way to go
Good morning Randy

Hi, I am writing here from Germany; please tell me the name of these stands (front wheel, back wheel) I want to buy it here in Germany; is it possible?? Sorry for my bad american...
I'm sorry to say my stands are no longer available. The stands are my own design. I had a contract to market them unfortunately for me the small company did a poor job and my idea didn't go far. Thank you for your comment.
Are stands available for purchase?
I wish I could. Just need a company to work with me on it. I can show them the plans and they would provide the liability insurance and advertising.
Ready to sell yet?
If you still have some for sale ill take them in a heartbeat
you forgot to purg the crank case!!
You're right . In my case I'll run the bike getting it warmed up. That gets most of the oil out of the case that drained from the tank from setting. Usually my old oil is pretty clean too.
Great job ,bro 😎😎😎
What a beautiful day in the neighborhood. Haha lol😂😂
