Your bike is a credit to you, I have a 1999 FXSTC and run Amsoil synthetic 20w-50 in the engine...Amsoil severe gear for transmission and Amsoil super shift in the primary. Prior to using Amsoil the Harley oil turned dark very quickly and it was seriously difficult to select neutral, with clunky shifting through the gears up and down. All good now though, costs a bit more but performance of the fluids is excellent and I could stretch the service intervals out but don’t....my bike sits in the garage for extended periods so the properties of the synthetics gives me peace of mind. All the best!

What an excellent, informative and very detailed video on how to carry out an oil service on an FLSTF 1340cc Evo motor. I only wish that I had the dimensions/details on how to build a pair of those fantastic motorcycle wheel stands ... They would save me a lot of time and heartache on my next service ...
Thanks I appreciate your comments. About the motorcycle stands I would love to work with a company to market them. On my own I can't afford to be liable for any lawsuits.
@@randys1996fatboy Hi Randy. Can they not be marketed with the liability placed fairly and squarely on the purchaser, by having them sign a 'waiver' during the purchase process? This would remove any personal liability issues for yourself as by signing a 'waiver', the purchaser(s) wouldf be fully aware that they use the stands they have purchased, at their own risk? If you have 2 stands spare, I would willingly sign any waiver for you and buy them with the understanding that I use them purely at my own risk. This way, should anything happen to myself or my motorcycle when using the stands, I would have no recourse or come-back whatsoever to you or the company, regardning the purchased stands. I just think they're a great design and a very practical motorcycle stand that I'm sure would sell by the thousands ... Willie

Hello Randy S. Thank you for the great video on changing the fat boy motor oil, transmission oil, and primary oil. I see you get alot of people asking about your stands. If you can't sell them. How about showing some close up pictures of the stands, and let us know what materials are need to make our own sets. Also can you tell me the maker of your floor jack. I can't seem to find that one anywhere. Ever jack I've seen are just to tall. Thank you.....Bill

Great vid! Very informative, thank you! I started pausing the vid though, and looking for the stands on Google before I ever read the comments. LOL! Those are awesome! Sweet Fat Boy, as well.
I like the vid but when I change my oil I always drain the oil lines as well. Just the oil lines can hold at least a qt. of dirty oil still. That's how people get dirty oil more quickly. Drain it all. Your bike will love you for it. Be safe out there brothers

Sorry to say the stands are not for sale. I was hoping a company would take the idea and run with it but that never happened. To much liability for me to market it. Thanks for your comment.
Adequate, and I like both that (homemade?) non-scratch oil filter strap wrench and I like the plastic oil filter sheet thing (never saw one at my HD dealership.) However, if you search RUclips for the "Delboy's Garage Full Purge" oil change process, I like the way he has the engine crank some 10 times to purge out the last of the old oil as part of the process. Sure it's a bit more work, and a bit more expensive to purge the residual oil, but I'll keep "purging" every time.
Sounds like you're about to buy a cool bike 👍 Not sure about what thread size on a plug if you're asking about the motor oil plug it's a stock plug at the end of a rubber hose that drains the oil tank. I use only synthetic oils. What part of the country are you living?
A lot of people ask me the same question I wish I could help you but they are not for sale anymore. It would be nice if I could find a company that would manufacture and sell them for me again. Thanks for your comment.
I can fill the oil filter about 1/2 way but you need to keep it turning when putting it in place so oil doesn't spill. The stands are my design and are not available. I had a contract to market them but the company didn't do enough to promote them. Thanks for your comment.

Good morning Richard, Thanks for your comment unfortunately my stands are not for sale. It would be nice to find a company that would like to produce and sell them for me. Randy
Unfortunately they currently are not available. Back in 2000 they were for sale but I hooked up with people that were going to market my stands and they didn't know what they were doing after the contract ended go any further with it. I wanted to find a company with product liability ins as I didn't want to be liable.

I know this is an old video post BUT does ANYONE know where I can purchase these stands? Or, do you know if I can have a pair made for me from??? HELP! TY. Kenny
Do you still have the "lot" (100 pairs) of stands? I'm really only interested in one pair. However, I may be interested in all of them if the price is right.
The good news is I sold my body shop business. The bad news is I had to get rid of a lot of stuff fast all the stands got scraped. Retired now as a land lord. Sorry had no choice.
I have read the comments and understand that you are hesitant to sell the jack stands you have built for liability reasons but can we ask that if you get to a point where you might want to offer these up (perhaps with a signed liability waiver which is perfectly legal and keeps you from any problems), that you make a public announcement on your channel. I can tell you with the interest you have in these jacks there is so much potential as you have a 'ready made' customer base that would not only purchase but provide significant marketing via word of mouth. I am in the business of web hosting small business eCommerce websites and I have seen so many people along the years that would do anything for that kind of product demand. I think a company like J&S Jacks would be very interested in your plans as this has a lot of synergy with their product line. I would definitely not sell the patent but rather just license the plans so you would be free to do the same with other companies. Just a thought. I wish I knew how to weld or fabricate as I would be building my own set right now. :)
Mark Shipp Thanks for your comment. I do have plans to contact a company that already has product liability insurance already in place. It would be nice to find a company in California. Thanks again
Jorge Gonzalez If you are serious about it we can talk. I have around 110 pairs and the plans to build them. Unfortunately the patent has run out. I will sell them for less than it would cost to build for sure.
@@randys1996fatboy It seems there is a great demand for them. Have you even investigated the possibility of manufacturing them or at least selling the idea/plans to a current producer of similar items? You could be missing out on some good $$$.
Randy S. Cool, I just picked up the same exact bike, same year, color, with only 3500 miles. The bike has straight pipes which look nice but are too loud and not good for performance. What pipes do you recommend for the classic Harley sound but are good for performance? I’m thinking Vance & Hines long shots. Thanks in advance for your feedback.
MikeMotorcycleTowing Wow sounds like you found a great bike. I'm not really up to date on exhaust systems. Everyone has their own likes. Prefer the stock look and the krome Werks have the sound I like.
Indy Live! Hi again... you are very persistent. Soon I plan to contact people that may be interested in my stands. The comments about the video may be helpful. Thanks for your interest. As far as the height that could very depending on your preference.

I know this is an old video post BUT does ANYONE know where I can purchase these stands? Or, do you know if I can have a pair made for me from??? HELP! TY. Kenny
If you still have some for sale ill take them in a heartbeat
Do you still have the "lot" (100 pairs) of stands? I'm really only interested in one pair. However, I may be interested in all of them if the price is right.
Do you still have that red Merkur XR4Ti?
Yes
Are stands available for purchase?
I wish I could. Just need a company to work with me on it. I can show them the plans and they would provide the liability insurance and advertising.
Could you send a message to me about the jack stand plans?
Randy, what ever happen with your wheel supports?
The good news is I sold my body shop business. The bad news is I had to get rid of a lot of stuff fast all the stands got scraped. Retired now as a land lord. Sorry had no choice.
@@randys1996fatboy That's to bad you had a great product there.
@@randys1996fatboy By chance to you still have your blue prints?
Yes I kept about 3 pair and the plans.
@@randys1996fatboy Any chance you would be able to part with a set? Or a copy of the plans.
Randy S. If this happens I'd be interested in a set. I'm in Escondido. I've got a 97 Evo. Great video also.
How much would you sell the stands and patent for?
Jorge Gonzalez
If you are serious about it we can talk. I have around 110 pairs and the plans to build them. Unfortunately the patent has run out. I will sell them for less than it would cost to build for sure.
Randy S. I'd possibly be interested in a set
I would also like to purchase a set. How can I get in touch with you?
Ready to sell yet?
Where can I buy these exact stands.
The stands are not out there for sale. The stands I have I designed and built 20 years ago.
@@randys1996fatboy It seems there is a great demand for them. Have you even investigated the possibility of manufacturing them or at least selling the idea/plans to a current producer of similar items? You could be missing out on some good $$$.
Thanks for the vid
Are those the stock pipes?
MikeMotorcycleTowing
Hey Mike..yes I kept the stock shotgun pipes just put a pair of krome werks tips on.
MikeMotorcycleTowing
Wow sounds like you found a great bike. I'm not really up to date on exhaust systems. Everyone has their own likes. Prefer the stock look and the krome Werks have the sound I like.
Randy S. Ok thanks
Hey Randy, I you wont sell me a set, can you atleast tell me what is the height of them?Would you consider selling me a set yet?
Indy Live! Hi again... you are very persistent. Soon I plan to contact people that may be interested in my stands. The comments about the video may be helpful. Thanks for your interest. As far as the height that could very depending on your preference.
thx for ur video ^^
Nice video. Much appreciated! Just curious, are the fluid capacities on your bike same as on my 94 softail special?
Philip Mumola
Thanks, If you are going to service or repair your harley softail I would first buy a shop service manual specific to your bike. The manuals have a lot of good information.
Randy S. I have one from Clymer. It's a nice book but no info for an oil change. Your video is more informative than the book.
Philip Mumola
I recommend the official harley davidson manual your's would be 93-94 about $60.
