    This is a theory and I can be completely wrong, but I will still write it here:
    Magnus is actually an amazing person by heart. He has this formidable aura just because of chess. If you look at his lie detector video you will understand most of what he does from coming late to games and not appreciating anyone is to put mental pressure on the opponent before the match. Often times, the opponent might play really well but just because of Magnus' aura they get scared and don't make the best moves they would have normally done. Many times Magnus' mistake also goes unpunished for same reason.
    But at the end of the day, he is a good person. Pragg was generally the people's favourite and their choice to win candidates. But unfortunately he didn't have his best month and lost. Often times that leads to depression and many people cannot take this pressure of being the "second". Magnus knows that very well and support Pragg just cause he wants to see him grow and not give up. Having Magnus behind your back you can beat the rest of the world looking down on you.

    I somewhere feel that Gukesh is not respectful toward his opponents.
    There's something in him, deep inside which gives a vibe of someone who is not good as a person. Whereas when you see Pragg, he seems to me as a very humble and loving human being.
    But anyway, Gukesh is a stronger player.

      Of hard work. Then mostly intelligence, depending on how you define it (pattern and spatial recognition matter tremendously), but there is a lot of memorization at the top level of play (mostly required for learning openings)

    The west always analyse the East as if nations like Indian and Chinese are new nations. These nations belong to old civilizations far older than Greece or Roman. And India invented chess...😂😂😂😂😂

    • @vibovitold
      @vibovitold Месяц назад +1

      What do you mean? How does it show here?
      India invented a game that was essentially a prototype of chess. It's been since shaped by numerous other cultures, most notably Persians, Arabs and Europeans, to create the game that we know as chess today. It wouldn't exist without India, but it also wouldn't exist without that collective effort.
      By the 20th century chess was so forgotten in India that Anand was India's first Grandmaster (which only highlights his achievement - taking it from being the first GM from a given country to becoming the first WC from that country is something that happens only once in history)
