The Bacon one was a god-send...~ I miss it too.
They were too good for McDonald's. Someone should launch an investigation because they were really good and McDonald's would still be serving them if they didn't discover something..........

I agree. I remember how good KFC potato wedges were back in the 1980s when I was growing up, and how good their original recipe chicken was, it wasn't quite the same anymore later on. I heard that they changed some of what the 11 herbs and spices were, and I believed it too because it wasn't as great tasting anymore.
I agree with your "meh" on the McD cookies, but their apple pies were awesome, their old crispy apple pies that they deep fried. Then they changed that too. So many fast food places changed the good tasting foods that they used to have. Burger King and Pizza Hut also did so. Maybe some of it was for health reasons such as for example how McDonald's once fried their fries in animal fat. But I also know that ingredients were changed too, in some cases switching to cheaper ingredients to save more money, I know that Burger King did the latter, their flame-broiled burgers were good back in the 80s and 90s, they changed sometime around the turn of 2000 and it was noticable

Those Burger King blueberry muffins, Jack n the Box chili cheese fries, Jack n the Box Deli Trio sandwiches, McDonald’s shake salads, KFC bbq wings , Taco Bell chili cheese burritos, Enchiritos, steak border bowl. and spicy chicken burritos 😩 bring it all back!
In 2006, I was in Australia and was so excited to see McDonaldland Cookies still on the menu there. I stocked up before flying home.
That thumbnail image was a blast of nostalgia! I think McDonald's must have had the character shaped cookies 'til later than 1990 in Kansas City, because I was only 2 then and I remember them so clearly🤩🍪🍪🍪💕

I had McRib very recently, I guess they bring it back whenever they want throughout the year; KFC needs to bring back the potato wedges ASAP, the fries aren't the same; I never had the potato cakes from Arby's, would love to try them; I like the baked McDonald's pies.

I love cinnamon rolls, always have. Growing up in the 80s and 90s, I remember the best cinnamon rolls I always loved were generally at the mall food courts, most notably to my memory, Sam's Cinnamon Rolls and TJ Cinnamon Rolls, those were the ones at the foodcourts at the malls near where I grew up
A lot of those places have been hitting and miss with the food they have on there menu.
What I miss the most? Popeyes Cajun (Do NOT call it dirty) rice.
Our grandma used to buy us mcdonalds cookies in 1970s and 1980s.

The cini minis were my go-to for fast food breakfast as a kid. I still didn't care for biscuits or croissants as an adult, so I had tried to order cini minis for nostalgia aaaaand they were gone 😞 if they get rid of the original chicken sandwich, I'll never have a desire to get bk again.

I remember back in the 1980s Hardee's had a pretty good mushroom swiss burger
They always leave out my favorite burger, the short lived McDonalds McFeast burger. It was as large as a Burger King Whopper.

I never got to eat at Arby's but I heard the Potato Cakes were delicious, and I also heard that Arby's food in general was better in the 80s. I do ADORE their curly fries in the grocery stores though, they are DELICIOUS! For Mcdonald's pies, they should've kept them fried, as we already have enough healthy options at home, so a once-in-a-while fried snack won't be too bad. Burger King's Cinni-Minnis were AMAZING! Tasted almost but not quite homemade IMO, or maybe that was just how my local Burger King cooked them. I miss Cinni Minnis so much! Does Long John Silver's still have crumblies? I never got a chance to eat at a Long John Silver's but I am curious. Albeit I did hear they were better before the 90s. Speaking of Long John Silver's, I am personally frustrated that they barely have any Treasure Island themeing, Long John Silver himself doesn't even show up! Compare this to their 1970s commercials, where they had pirates in a huge amount of the ads [I think we even got Jim Hawkins in one ad?]. They could've at least kept the menu items having Treasure Island themed names.

The McRib wasn't a success when it first came out, it failed miserably and they figured they might convince people they missed it when they brought it back. It worked and people completely forgot that they didn't care about it at all the first time.

I loved McDonald Land cookies. They tasted better than Animal Cookies. Also the fried Apple and Cherry pies were the best. The baked ones are tasteless. Too bad.

Personal opinion. I have never understood the attraction to crinkle cut fries. They're not as crispy, tend to get cold faster for some reason, and just plain boring. They remind me of any fries you can find in your store freezer. Sure, lots of chains use frozen fries, but even when fried in a deep fryer, crinkle cut fries taste like they were cooked at home.
@robpierce4712 I totally get where you're coming from. Crinkle cut fries can be hit or miss, and the texture might not be everyone's cup of tea.

Here's a few I think of now and then. Long John Silvers - peg legs. Dairy Queen - steak finger basket. Sonic - hickory cheeseburger and Jack in the Box - bacon , cheddar , potato wedges.

@@BabbleTop I've never been a fan of ribs. All I ever got from them was too much grease, and an upset stomach despite being told 'These are the best ribs that you'll eve have!" I'm pretty sure they had vinegar in the sauce, and I'm allergic to it.
