- Canon's Rebel series have always been the most popular line of entry level DSLRs on the market. However, after making no major upgrades in half a decade, Canon finally adds a new sensor and autofocus system to the new T6S and T6i. Are these the perfect cameras for first time DSLR shooters, and if so, which one should you get? The Camera Store TV's Chris Niccolls takes a look.

TheCameraStoreTV Thank youuuuuuu, Jordan!
Display Name The whole intro was better before, this new with all the shots were too long.
The Nikon 5500 does indeed have 39 af points, but aren't only 9 of them cross type in the centre whereas the 19 on the Canon are all cross type and provide better coverage across the sensor? Sometimes more doesn't mean better!
Charlie Harrington That doesn't mean the single-axis focus points on the D5500 are useless or inaccurate. I have the camera and all focus points are accurate! The only challenge is when the lights get dim; that's when the cross type points shine.
Great tutorial video thanks for that. I just upgraded from my 500 D to the 750 D was very impressed with the performance. I was going to get the 760 D but I'm a quadriplegic and cannot use the lock feature on the dial so I had to go back to the 750. Going from 3.5 up to 5 frames per second was amazing so much better and I like the autofocus nice and quiet. I'm not really worried about doing videos so much but was told the 760 is a bit better for that particular mode than the 750 D. I bought a Tamron all in one 16-300 mm lens for use in the wheelchair trips for during the day and abort the 55-250 STM to use at concerts if I go to them because of the extra f-stop on the Canon 4.5-5.6 as opposed to the Tamron 6.3 I think it is at full. This is not much of a difference but it's better than nothing. The 2.8 lenses are too heavy for me hold onto so was stuck to the 4.5 version unfortunately still with the faster frame rates and fast autofocus it should be much better than 500 D than the older STM lens of the same type range of focusing length. Anyway thanks for the review as it was very interesting. Regards Mark Sydney Australia. PS I use a shutter blower brush release which I have had since the Canon T 70. The T3 adapter with electronic plug cut off and a 3.5 or a 2.5 connected to that can't remember what size it is in the side of the camera and on the end that has a screw in cable release adapter which is connected by rubber tubing to a blower brush which I bite on to take photos which works well.
Also have a 500D looking to go up to a 760D or 750D :)
Blown away by the FS7 footage here incredible!
I have to second the request on the opening music. That was so emblematic of TCS, it's not the same without it!!
wetracy While we might take the odd single episode hiatus from the theme, it'll always be around. It's been with us since the start!
Jordan @ TCSTV
TheCameraStoreTV Thanks, Jordan. The fewer single episode hiatuses, the better! Love you guys!
You know, guys, I think we have a pretty good idea where Canon intends to take their next steps at this point. As STM (and, for larger lenses, linear motors) AF systems really become more and more prevalent in their optical lineup, it will become clear that they intend to go mirrorless while also maintaining the EF/EOS standard mount. I believe they've finally begun truly tipping their hand. Despite the innovations of other companies, it's clear that both Canon and Nikon have decided to stick with what they're good at. Canon has the decisive edge, statistically, as they at least have a portfolio of products that can float the camera division while R&D gets paid for. Nikon is at an extreme disadvantage due to their inability to create industry defining products at a palatable rate (the D7200 does not a replacement for the D300s make: despite the obvious advantages the D7200 brings to the table, it's still not the prosumer body we've all been seeking) and due to their continued reliance on box store sales of D3000 series products, not to mention the recalls and declining QC, changing of componentry and construction in key lenses, etc.
So the question for Canon users is whether or not they're prepared to switch lenses yet again as it becomes clearer and clearer that stepper systems will be more and more necessary for smooth transition af and tracking as Canon becomes more reliant on live view to compete against the likes of Sony and Micro FourThirds, because it's going to be necessary, especially for those with pre Series II L lenses in particular as well as for those with merely USM AF motors.
Sony is forcing Canon's hand and it's going to be fun to watch. By the time Canon brings out their mirrorless cameras (at this point clearly biding their time, working on their base lens lineup for the moment {the 24-105 STM and 50mm f/1.8 STM are dead giveaways}), Sony will be several generations ahead in development and refinement of their system. It will be the death of Samsung NX when Canon joins the fray but Sony has come too far, and done so with success, for them to fail unless they do something astronomically stupid (still a possibility though, watching them of late, a less likely possibility than in the past).
Nikon meanwhile needs to decide on its future plan with immediacy. You can see where Sony is headed. They're making it pretty clear. We're beginning to see where Canon wants to go, which is refreshing because, with the advent of the T5i we all questioned if they knew what the hell they were doing anymore (the 70D does not convince me, there being too many image quality compromises held within DualPixel AF, though it's a solid step forward for them, at least). Nikon needs to figure things out right quick or they will go the way of Minolta, though likely without the merging savior of an electronics company (unless Fuji surprises us with a nearly unprecedented move) within the next 10 years.
It's refreshing watching your reviews, Chris, Jordan. Much respect from the states.
Can't believe there's no 1080p 60fps capability with this camera
+Jerry Neutron It's a DSLR, not a video camera....
+agogobell28 blah blah blah
I got the Canon T6s and I am very happy with it.
It is nice to see the Nikon Store, I mean Camera Store review a Canon camera at last. The bias against Canon products is very apparent in all your reviews, especially within the past year. I used to shoot Nikon cameras exclusively, until I tried the 5D2. Then I switched to Canon cameras. The simple truth is the color renderings of the Canon camera is better than anything else on the market today. And yes, I only shoot raw. Funny you should mention the Sony A6000 mirrorless. I looked at the pictures taken with the Sony and compared them with my 5D3 - the color renderings of the Canon is far far superior. Sony may have the best sensor technology, but has not a clue on how to do digital signal processing. Canon has also been producing one killer lens after another lately. They have not produced a bad L lens since the 70-200 2.8L IS mark II. The 24-70 2.8L II, the 16-35 4.0L IS, the 100-400 4.5-5.6 IS II, and now the 11-24mm 4.0L are all fantastic lenses that are better than any Nikon offerings! Test one of these lenses and you will see why people shoot Canon. So at least for now I am sticking with Canon.
opjoipopikopp[pl[p[ Why compare a 1k camera with a full frame camera that is triple the price? Its just stupid. You should be comparing 5d III with a7r or a7 II. a6000 hands down is the best apsc camera on the market. Advantage of Sony is AF Zeiss glass coming thick and fast and now with Batis series announced as well.
opjoipopikopp[pl[p[ I really try not to allow biases to influence my choices nor do I receive compensation in any way from any of our suppliers but you are correct in that the last year has been rough in regards to Canon. They have refused to legitimately compete in the mirrorless market for fear of hurting DSLR sales, have upgraded rebel SLRs in name only without adding new sensors or improvements until now, and seem to incorporate image quality setups that are excellent yet consistently behind the other brands right now. This all results in myself and a large majority of the community feeling that Canon is slipping a bit right now in the camera market. If you watch our reviews make note that we appreciate Canons body design and auto focusing capabilities and I wholeheartedly agree that they deliver stunning colour and excellent lenses. I don't see how I can be held responsible for Nikon making great products as of late and we certainly review a large share of Canon products such as the T2i, T4i, T5i, 60D, 70D, 5DMK3, 7DMK2, EOS M, and T6i/S. Add to that a host of Powershot cameras and L lens comparisons and its clear we give Canon their due. My job is not to protect peoples feelings or brand loyalties but instead to show how one camera compares to another, inform them to make their own choices, and provide my own personal opinions about the equipment and market place. Canon make brilliant handling SLRS, with stunning colour, a comprehensive quality selection of lenses, using less capable sensors, and without trying to address the mirrorless trend.
Chris @ TCSTV
oceanistoosmall i traded my A6000 on a 7D2...no regrets!
opjoipopikopp[pl[p[ I agree with you totally. The bias is pathetic and I notice the reviewer forgot to mention how useless video focus hunting and focus noise (as in audible sound) is on the Nikon D5500 when mentioning it does most of the stuff the 760 does, and better. Biased Nikon lovers like dropping numbers such as 39 AF points, but every test I've seen shows the Canon 19 point AF system with all cross type is superior and the camera reviewed here has a newer improved version.
The reviewer said he expected more from the video and yet it kills Nikon video, hunting around and drifting in and out of focus. I just watched a review of these cameras by Michael the Mentor and he properly demonstrated how brilliant the video tracking and AF is. This Nikon reviewer is clearly jealous and hardly shows anything in his videos which might show the true capability of the Canons.
cooloox the butthurt is real in your comment.
Welcome to Vancouver, Chris and TCS crew !
Go get the cup for us!
Nope. Not sick of hearing about the A6000. One of the best camera purchases I have ever made. And selling my Canon for the money for it - just the "icing on the cake" so to speak :)
Ironically just purchased this as my first dslr. It was between this and the Sony A6000. I guess I wanted the classic dslr feel before it was too late. Down the road though I'll probably go mirror less once it matures. Great review! I hope I didn't make a bad purchase. lol. Still have 30 days.
by far and away you make the best reviews for cameras very non bias and very informative!
I came across your video as I am waiting for my T6s to arrive. Nice work capturing an overview of the camera. Good luck to your Flames in the second round.
I like the big chunky body ... the smaller factor on nikon d5500 makes the camera quite uncomfortable for me and the grip is loosed, while with this body I have actual feel that i have in my hands a really nice PRO CAMERA .. not some amatuerish one ! :D
The real DSLR rival for mirrorless is the D5500, small, light and amazing image quality, good autofocus and many lenses...this Canons are just out of place in 2015.
I gotta disagree... Nikons cheap cameras are just so limited when it comes to lenses. I have big collection of older ai nikkor lenses that just don't work on any of the cheaper nikon cameras like the 5500 or 3300. You don't even get aperture priority auto exposure on these old cameras. At the same time, I can mount my old nikkor lenses on my Canon 700D with an adapter and use focus peaking and aperture priority which is all I need
This video was sooooo USEUFUL, I was confused about which one of these 2 to buy, and you explain just what I needed to know to decide. Thank you so much!! Really appreciate content like this.
Thanks for this review. I have never owned a DSLR and I'm a camcorder guy. I want to pick up the T6s as my first go at DSLR video footage.
I went to the store to pick up the d5500. But it is just way too small for my large hands. Same with all mirrorless camera's. I like the size of this. I found this video pretty much focussed on the negatives...
Awesome review. It's really frustrating because I want to get into videography and was considering going w/ the Sony a6000 mirrorless but the main issue I have with it is that it lacks a mic input port. What the hell was Sony thinking?
DSLR companies are like turtles when it comes to catching up w/ the times and this review proves that. I am looking at the Canon T6i now (the Nikon D5500 doesn't allow for exposure adjustment in Live View) and the lack of 1080p 60fps sucks
I watched lots and lots of Camera Stuffs Reviews and You are really the best.. Keep reviewing!!
Thank you so much for this review! I was thinking about purchasing the T6i and didn't even know there was a T6S! Going to hold off though after watching your review. Thanks again.
Great video. I also watched your video on the Nikon D5500 and the Sony a6000. Interesting point for the Sony that they didn't include a port for a microphone & you can only use their external mics. I'm looking for a new camera for YT videos. A lot of women have had the Canon Ti series and like it for fashion/beauty/etc videos. So many decisions to make and so little time!
If you ask me, the biggest advantage of a DSLR in the future will be the OVF experience. If they (Canon, Nikon, etc..) would make bigger and better (pentaprism) viewfinders in their entry level DSLRs, they will have an advantage over mirrorless that will not fade away in the near future.
Bought this camera a week ago, and I really love it.
I am using it for a year for just about everything and it is nice and reliable. I also have that 35 F/2 IS and its very good combo, AF spot on and very fast. With STMs it can be fun camera to use in LW, USM not so much..
Man, I really love the way you guys present your reviews. Awesome awesome work.
I'm a total noob/beginner who has been researching for a couple of weeks on what camera to buy. I know mirrorless is the new hot commodity, but I've always wanted a dslr.
This review confirms my decision to go with the Nikon D5500. Thanks guys.
It's good they finally gave there users a new sensor... But 720p really??? Everything will soon have 4k and they still are on 720p on a BIGGER camera body. I am glad I went with Sony over Canon. It just seems like Canon got really lazy.
skatertwig26 You read that wrong. Canon T6i T6s and also record video up to 1080P.
Stanley Anthonymuthu Rumor has it that it could be announced in May, so you might want to hold off for a couple of weeks anyway. The a6000 really is great though.
skatertwig26 But why go with a Sony when you can go with a Lomo camera? Save your money and looks cool all at the same time.
AJ Foto
At 60p you only get 720p watch at 5:21.
tgmwright Hell no.
Same as the past Canons for 10 years now.
As a Canon 760D owner, it hurts to hear that Nikon D5500 is a lot better than the 760D in many ways.
+Sovat Oung how is it better im thinking of getting it
+OnceUponAChurch If you're a pure beginner like me, you can't be wrong for choosing this toy as it's super easy to use. Eventually, one thing I'd like to recommend is that you need to choose a very good lenses to get the best out of it.
+Sovat Oung i love Canon 760 D .Itz more useful than Nikon D5500
i need a camera can u give me one
cuz u have a lot
+Younes Tube
No.
why bro !!
+TheCameraStoreTV Why you can't give this boy a camera? C'mon, don't be so bad,you can do it!
Haris Sasvari you see it he is a bad man i thought him good
+Younes Tube because he is a youtuber, not a billionare.!
also your channel rocks and if i lived closer i would totally visit the store, i work at a camera store too andddd you guys pretty much keep me up to date on whats new and why its different/better so you actually help me out a lot! keep it up!
I wish Canon would make an "SL1 Mark II" using that same 24 megapixel sensor. My SL1 is awesome after using a larger Rebel.
The FS7 footage is great!
i would skip right to the 70D. i bought a 7Dmkii and i love it, but with that being said i came from a t3i. If I were coming from a 70D i would've waited and went for the c100 mk2... a lot of people got on me about the gh4 and the a7s but neither one were on my radar. Big fan of you guys hope to buy a camera from your store in person some day. keep up the great work!!
I have the 550D (Rebel T2i) and I'm still quite happy with it. However, I wouldn't upgrade to any of the more recent Rebels, I'm actually looking to buy... you've guessed it, a Sony A6000. Mirrorless has to be the future and at its current mark-down price the Sony is unbeatable.
Bold move on bigger DSLRs. I like it. After returned a Sony a5100 I wanted the smallest possible DSLR: the EOS 100D / SL1 . Now I want something that feels more substantial in the hand. A Sony with a good lens won't fit in the jeans pocket either so then it doesn't matter to me how big the camera is. Speaking of lenses, everybody knows the situation on the Sony ecosystem; I't doesn't even come close to what Canon has to offer no matter cheap or expensive. You wanna stay with the small and cute but optically very bad 16-50mm Sony pancake without swapping lenses ever? Than Sony is for you.
Great video my friend. I'm heading to Calgary in 4 days for my holidays. You've made me re-think my t6i purchase. I may look into the Sony camera your referring to.
Thanks for the review. I just got a EOS T6i. Maybe I should gone for the T6s. I shoot trains and Model Trains. Some landscapes. I had a EOS model before for 8 years that died on my a few years ago. I enjoyed shooting with it. Now I have this T6i. So far I find it a good match a bit heavy. But very capable and quick on tracking say a Train engine in motion. However I have only had it for a week. I love the new features so far. I added a Tamron 18 /300mm that allows me to get in real tight on very small Train models. It let me get shots of engines I am to far away to get up close too. One good thing I noticed is the auto focus is getting plenty of light. I like that. It was a big issue on my old EOS. I hope this camera will produce what I am looking for. After all I am still a beginner with no real training. Just good at guessing at what I want. Thanks again. wish I saw this review before I got the T6i if it truly was only $100 difference. Vince.
Second longest high five hold ever ar 13:26. So close to snatching the world record, Jordan you should have waited a bit longer!
Very much appreciate this review because I actually was debating between the 70D and the t6i
I don't get the argument that the Sony mirrorless is lighter. The Sony A6000, is 460 grams, the Canon is 550 grams.
You can not even feel 90 grams difference, it is nothing.
Actually it weighs 285g. So Canon is nearly twice as heavy as the A6000 www.ephotozine.com/article/sony-alpha-a6000--ilce-6000--full-review-24041#Specification
Adriana K. A6000 is very small camera. camerasize.com/compare/
Canon 100D is just 400 grams with battery. The smallest and lightest dSLR. It also has hybrid phase detection which is similar to the phase detection of top mirrorless cameras. It is good at shooting with live view on screen because of the hybrid phase detection sensor, instead of looking at the viewfinder.
It might use hybrid but on not par with the a6000. It hunts a lot. Also the lenses are much bigger.
Thanks for explaining the differences; they seem somewhat minimal.
Good comparison video but I would've liked to see some low light shots
"Canon USA has issued a product advisory regarding a sensor issue with a number of Rebel T6i/T6s"
Awesome video, guys! One of the first full hands-on reviews of the new Canon Rebel T6 series. Thumbs up for the honest views and observations that others might miss (smaller optical viewfinder with focus points difficult to distinguish!).
I myself am considering to buy my first DLSR. T5i (700D) was on my list for long now and just then T6i/s was announced. Do you think it's better to start with this newer sensor and overall offerings and spend that extra money? Or should I go ahead with 700D (which might cost even lesser now)?
Don't. The nikon d3300 is way better than the t6i/s. Judging by the reviews, the d3300 is an excellent entry level DSLR. Its low light and image quality is better than the 7d mark ii which is a higher end APS-C DSLR.
Mild gargle I've been locked onto Canon for a while now (my other point and shoots are Canons and my friends own EOSs). Also the UX for Canon feels much more closer to my heart as far as I've tried. But for sure now I'll personally have a go with a rented D3300 (which I've never ever used) for a comparison! :-)
Great audio. Did you use a Rode mic for this video?
Hey. Great test. Do you know if the Canon 750D/760D can show an audio level meter on the screen while recording video?
I really need to know what microphone you guys used when making this video? The sound is excellent.
same
Great explanation. Thanks. I am always apprehensive of a new upgrade. I usually let more experienced, and financially qualified drudge the trek on new roads, then listen to their complains or complements.
I have canon and Nikon, but actually don't see much difference in quality produced. My viewers of my pics can't tell the difference my cameras and a refrigerator, so I guess I am fortunate.
But I do like your reviews. I follow you for your advice.
The A6000 is unbelievable. You have to hold it in your hands to appreciate it but it handles so freaking fast.. An entry-level DSLR feels like a dinosaur in comparison.
Michael Comeau yes but you get naff colors and terrible yellow /green skin tones..i lent a friend of mine an old canon 40D (what 8 years old tec) and when he compared the photos and got good AF in very low light he begged me to sell him it which i did and the sony went on ebay
6 months ago I got an SL1, price reasons not counting the t5, that I considered below the average.
I like it. It is behind compared to t5i and t6i t6s, but I don´t see myself buying one of those, even if I would have the money.
Watching this video and specs of these dslr, I´d love to wait for the 80D (hoping canon impresses) or buying lenses and accesories.
I got instead a 40mm 2.8 stm and I really like it.
At this moment my brother has my SL1 at the caribean islands because he thought the camera was small enough to take it anywhere.
So t6s, I´m not that impressed
Chris and Jordan thanks for great review as usual.
Is the viewfinder worse than in older Rebels?
Can you showe us any sales chart that show mirror less camera beating ore gaining large shares of DSLR market. Especially in North America
Fantastic in depth hands on and review! Thanks for the information!
hey there, i loved ur video. but i am confusing between canon rebel t6i and t6s, which one is best? i need to buy one of them.
I like the BIG cameras,it mankes me feel like a PRO!
Just bought a T6S today!
What camera did you use for 00:26 - 00:33 and what lense did you use ? Btw i Subscribed :)
I think it's Canon EF 35mm f/2
Great review guys!
No video comments from Jordan?
ObelixCMM I didn't look camera-ready after the port-a-party. It's the same old Canon DSLR video.
Jordan @ TCSTV
TheCameraStoreTV My understading is that they reduced bit rate from 44 Mbps on T5i to 28.8 Mbps on T6
ObelixCMM Makes sense - wasting so much bandwidth for low-res moire was unreasonable. I wonder are the new cams still limited to 30 minutes of continuous recording? In my recent comparison Nikon 3300/5300 shot better video than T5i, but the Nikons cannot make several files during one shoot, while the T5i can. I mean, if they can make three segments to make it half an hour, they could as well go further and offer unlimited duration for uninterrupted scenes.
I can't justify Canon's DSLRs over mirrorless and Nikon, their sensor tech for me represents kind of bad value for money.
Drive Cancel lenses lenses and lenses
Bror Svensson Extras So... how many lenses do you need ? It seems that the only reason to justify a canon is that you like to collect lenses, or you work in such a way that you need several unique and different lenses, which seems quite a niche. The canon aps-c sensor is pretty much the worse in terms of overall perfomance. I would say IQ wise they only lose to fuji (maybe). If you want a system just because of the amount of lenses you can use, then you should get a sony mirrorless, which has quite a good selection of adapters.
I have heard of the lenses argument several times, but there are pros making money with a kit lens right now.
Lets take this example, a new photogropher just spent all his money on a dslr body want to shoot portraits. He will quickly realise that the kit lens wont cut it so he turns to the popular 50mm 1.8. If he is on canon he can get a that lens for 80 bucks. If he is on sony he will spend 300, nikon 200. That may not seem like alot of difference but to a beginner who the initail money for the dslr seemed steep the difference will seem huge. THats the kind of things that make people go to canon,
Id like to add that im personaly a NEX user because i dont care about auto focus so i use old nikkor lenses.
***** Well I sold my a6000 for a D750 because:
- E Mount lenses are overpriced with less competition
- The D750 is almost perfect in every area with class leading autofocus and image quality, mirrorless are still maturing but I agree they are in a good position
- I was wanting to go full frame but the A7 auto focus and battery life is a bit sloppy, so my options were basically DSLR
I don't mind the weight of a DSLR because they balance better, my a6000 with the 70-200 felt really stupid to hold...
I would definitely not be buying a Canon DSLR though, as for the Canon lenses there's not that many you can't also buy for Nikon's mount, I have the Sigma 50mm 1.4 Art which kicks the ass of Canon and Nikon's own primes anyway!
can u try canon 760D with sigma 18-35mm f1.8
you really helped me decide, fantastic review dude
Very good (and convincing) review... as always.
More of Mike in the future, please. Let him say something.
Came for the camera, stayed when I found out you were a hockey fan.
Hi guys, can you do a review of the Canon 77d? Thanks.
hey Christ, thanks for all the videos huge fan, i have a question,.. its reguarding the Sony rx10ii,.. i wanted to know if you recommend it for making wedding videos or music videos??? thanks
Hey Chris and Jordan, love the channel! I picked up a T5i last Christmas to start getting a little more into photography (it's my first non point&shoot) and DSLR videography. I also use it occasionally at work for run and gun news video (prefer it in some situations to a big ENG camera). Is there enough of an upgrade here to consider trading up to a T6S or would I be better served with something like GH4 or 7D mk2? Would love your thoughts.
Shane Smith I'd definitely consider the upgrade at least to the t6i. The new hybrid af is awesome.
Chris
Shane Smith If you're going to stick to Canon, I'd go to a 70D or 7D MK II, since you'll get a dramatic ergonomic and AF update (especially in Live View). If you want to get more into the video side, Sony and Panasonic will get you quite a bit more bang for your buck.
Jordan @ TCSTV
Agreed Jordan
Shane Smith it's a small step to upgrade from T5i to T6s. if you want to upgrade, i think it's better to save a little more and get the 7Dmkii or the GH4 which is a video beast.
Shane Smith Video bit rate is downgraded on T6 (28.8 Mbps) from T5i (44Mbps) so no benefits in video department.
GH4 looks to be best choice for what you described as intended use.
Which camera is being used to record this video?
+Jahony The Sony FS7
Wow that's a nice DSLR camera that shoots amazing images but I wish I had this camera. I hope that I get the Canon T6s that the camera that I want!!
I planning to get my hands on the Canon T6s soon!!
I love this footage with this Canon T6s!!
Excellent review - thanks guys.
It is not jealous it is envious: Jealous means feeling or showing suspicion of someone's unfaithfulness in a relationship. "a jealous boyfriend" synonyms: suspicious, distrustful, mistrustful, doubting, insecure, anxious.
Envy: a feeling of discontented or resentful longing aroused by someone else's possessions, qualities, or luck.
For starters, can you use rebel lenses to FXs camera? How about Nikkon?
Such a good review! Thank you :) You actually pointed me away from the T6i towards the Sony a6000.
how do you manage the batterylife whilst using it? can you charge it via USB to the computer or something whilst filming to get a ''eternal'' battery life?
So familiar with the Canon DSLR camera better than the bulky powershot camera!!
So I'm looking to purchase from B&H and get an accidental warranty. Don't want to spend more than $1100-1200ish. Mostly going to be taking pictures of my young son, family events, and sport events, some of which in low light.. Was originally looking at the T6s with an 18-135mm lens but this comes out to about $1200 with warranty and accessories.
Now I'm leaning towards the A6000 with a 18-135mm lens and it only comes out to about $1000 with accessories. Or I could get the A6000 kit with the 16-50mm and 55-210mm for about $900 with accessories.
Any opinions?
can you please make a comparison between the canon rebel t6s and the sony rx10 ii?
if my first priority is stills, which one of the both is the best? And if I want the best overall camera of the both, which one should I pick?
How does to go price wise compared to the Pentax K-S2?
The viewfinder looked positively tiny, and you've got to ask why go DSLR if not for the viewfinder these days, now that there is on sensor phase detection auto focus on mirrorless.
Been waiting for this camera to come out as can't decide nikon 5300/5500 or this. So even though processor is 4x faster than the old canon 700d your saying its still not as good as the Nikon? :( oh will look into Sony cameras u mentioned if cheap good image and zoom and wide-angle lens may be option. Thanks helpful video
Even when Sony's are smaller they still rock the house
Hi guys!! I really want to ask you about video cameras, any recommendation for a $1000 budget?
Hi, I saw that you prefer the T6s, but, considering that both are almost The same camera, wich of two do you indicate for who wants to buy The first dslr?
TCS also needs to make money to remain in the retail business. Mirrorless is "in" now so they have to be more favourable towards mirrorless because it also help overall store sales.Chris loves to compare numbers and it helps with persuading the average consumer to the mirrorless camp and choosing Sony. TCS probably makes a decent profit from the (Sony,OMD, Fuji mirrorless cameras) so why not push the mirrorless segment. At the end, it is all about money.
QUESTION! Canon 750D has not timelapse mode. But has canon 760D?
Strange but inviting looking town. Which town is it?
Hi!
Great video!
Ive gotta question...i usted to take pictures with my old nikon D3000... And I eant to change.
Ive been looking foward the nikon d5600 but a lot of people recommend ed me the canon t7i, 800D...i want to get better rwsults in pictures in comparisson with the nikon D3000 anda enjoy the videos.
Can you tell wich would you recommend? Canon t7i or nikon d5600 for pictures and for videos?
Please help me out!
Thanks!!!
I think the review is wrong about T6i's sensor. It's a better sensor than that of of Nikon D7200, D5500 and canon 70D, 7D II.
go here to compare images of those cameras:

T6I's sensor is at least one stop better than Nikon's newest crop sensor offering and those of 70D and 7D II. Not sure if it's the right move to get rid of the low pass filters for Nikon. But in terms of high ISO performance, Canon rules again
+Lin Cai Like the reviwer, people always talk about mirrorless cameras. The Sony A6000 might have a excellent sensor. But the kit lens is a disaster. To get my money, Sony need to get a kit lens like canon's E mount 18-55 IS, or at least Olympus's 14-42.
nikon d5500 or canon 760D?
Nedal Nimer Get the D5500
Canon T6i or Nikon d5500? Which one is better?
D5500 is better but for 200 dollars less and for the same thing but without touchscreen you can get d5300
+Golazo Elite are u Sure I'm having same debate
+Nick Santangelo you get better photo quality and slo motion as well with Nikon but it's all person preference
I'm stuck between the same thing lol!
Blacksheepevox you decide on one? I want one of those (Nikon D5500 or 5300 OR the Canon 6I/S .. I can't decide
what was that last high five? Jordan wasn't very excited about it...
I just got the T6i today but I was wondering if u can give me any tips or any tricks I can do to make my photos better 😎 I'm a beginner
as a gift for a 16 y.o. photo enthusiast, i can't decide between this T6i or the mirrorless Sony a6000? what do you think?
JC4 a6000
Which one do you think is better for
beginners?
hi! how long will the battery last when shooting videos?
I have the sony a6000 and a canon sl1, I must say sony is great if you want a small compact camera with pancake lenses or primes, but if you need to use zoom lenses canon is the way to go, many more zoom lenses available and cheaper.
***** How do you find LOW light focus with the 6000 compared to the SL1?
the sl1 is a bit faster.
thanks
I have the T6S, I love it! it works for me :)
Is the small optical viewfinder a black hole? :/ Feels like thats one of the major things holding me back from buying this camera.
I was about the ask should I go for the T6i or the A6000 for a beginner. That little bit at the end kinda answered that, A6000 it is. I kinda wish the A6000 had a mic input instead of just a hotshoe, but I can deal with that.
xXBurntBaconXx And a touch screen
Ya know to be honest I could care less about having a smaller body because those smaller bodies aren't all that comfortable to hold all day. The times I do want a small camera is when I'm traveling so it doesn't take up much space in my backpack which is more point and shoot than mirrorless but that's just me. Also I wouldn't say that image quality is a major factor any more because unless you have them side by side pixel peeping you won't be able to tell a difference they are that close now so features are more important I think.
hi, how long will the battery last when shooting Full HD video?
I got the Nikon D5500 and I am very happy with it. Image quality and Low light performance is better than T6i......
