The Deluxe Tinker is my favorite SAK too. The only change I'd make is the same one you just did. An added saw. That makes it just about the perfect pocket tool. I think I'm a little jealous.
You did good, But you did not show the detail of the pins and locking it together. Speeding it up is for kids. I want the important part fitment technique. Just saying!
great bit of information. made it a little easier for me if i was to get into customising a victorinox. iv had the victorinox classic for 5 years very handy. i just got my first swiss champ 2 days ago and when i held it in the hand it felt abit big. so then i decided to order the huntsman now im waiting for it to arrive. but now im thinking i should order myself the handyman.
Deluxe tinker is my absolute fave and has everything I need for my everyday stuff. Only thing I would love to have on it is chisel for some casual leatherwork and repairs. And that would be a complete perfection of a knife for me.
great project, you can even lose a layer with combi tool instead of the second blade, so basicly loosing smaller blade + 2d inline phillips as the can opener, but having one 3d at the back wouldnt be such a problem
I thought about building a woodworking/whittling sak. I was thinking big blade, small blade, saw, awl, wood chisel. Not sure how to add the awl and wood chisel to the back layer since I don’t think the blades or saw have a back spring deigned to accept them.
Great video. I think you could of just bought a Victorinox Handyman (which is a Tinker Deluxe & also has saw blade & corkscrew) , or Victorinox Craftsman (which is also a Tinker Deluxe & has a saw blade & phillips head).
You are exactly right. When I got the deluxe tinker I didn't even know that the Handyman existed. I thought the next size up was the Champ. Truth be told, I prefer the corkscrew on the Handyman more than the phillips on the tinker. I also find myself wishing I had the file. The Handyman is absolutely the way to go, imo.
Hi will , I am very curious to know if I send you my Swiss Army knife parts. Would you be able to put it together for me? I just have the pliars, scissors, flat head, screw driver, and my favorite blade. I have the spacers and everything that you would need to put it together. Please get back to me if you can help I will pay for shipping and everything.

Great video man! I really liked the jig you made to hold and align the whole assembly.
Cool stuff
thank you. Yeah that little jig / fixture plate worked out great. The biggest challenge to messing around with pocketknives is needing three hands!
That Jig is genius would you ever consider making them in 84mm, 91mm and 93mm for modders to purchase?
I’d love to have a jig like that. Please consider making some for modders.

Maybe grind the hook (if you don't use it) into a chisel?
@@bishkopt4351 Ooh! Thats actually a good shout!
Those tools combination in Wenger was call "master". Nice video 👌🏼
Very informative vid, thanks, appreciate the orderliness of the project!

I want to build my own SAK dedicated soley to whittling , carving, bushcrafting.

I may try this. My holy grail SAK is basically the compact with small pliers and awl. It would compliment the Vic spirit I carry perfectly
Thats why I have handyman, it's a best fit tool in your pocket.
I would love to get rid of the corkscrews on my compact and ranger and and add the Philips .
is it also possible to just replace the large knife blade with a saw blade?
So you use a 3/32 pin punch without any issues? Just wanted to make sure before I order that punch.
Man I want to do this ! Where do you get the rivets and the hardware ?
Great video!! Honestly dont know if you made it or not but if you did you'd probably be able to sell the jigs if you dont already.

Do you sell the Jigs? I would like to have one of the jigs.
why not buy a fieldmaster?
I think metal file must be too.
Very nice. 👍😷
loved the video, hate the freedom units.
Skipped videoing waaaaay too many steps.
