Adding a Saw to a Victorinox Deluxe Tinker Swiss Army Knife

The Deluxe Tinker doesn’t come with a saw. I added one from a Huntsman. To do this, you need two sizes of brass rod stock: 2 mm and 2.5 mm.

Slipjoint Folder Pin Placement
Просмотров 21 тыс.4 года назад
This is how I lay out my pin placement on a slipjoint. The goal is to have your pin holes perfectly aligned through both liners as well as the blade and spring. The pin hole locations determine the geometry of your knife and how the knife will function, since the distance from the pivot pin to the spring pin will determine the angle of your blade in the open position.

    What's the best way to adjust (reduce) the spring tension on a production slipjoint (screwed construction not pinned)?

  • @squirts1
    @squirts1 4 дня назад

    what's a trick for reassembling a slipjoint? I have a modern slipjoint (screwed construction) one with an absurdly stiff spring. I want to disassemble and attempt to adjust the spring tension, but I'd hate to pop the blade out and not be able to get it back in under the spring.

    Brilliant video bud, I'm looking at starting my own pocket knife range and this video is an amazing starting point for me, I usually make fixed tank filleting knives and it dosnt really matter what type of steel you use as long as it can hold a razors edge, what is the best stainless steel for a slip joint as I'm assuming carbon steel would be a nightmare with rust

      I thought about building a woodworking/whittling sak. I was thinking big blade, small blade, saw, awl, wood chisel. Not sure how to add the awl and wood chisel to the back layer since I don’t think the blades or saw have a back spring deigned to accept them.

    Good Morning. I have watched This Video as well as "Adjusting the Kick on a slop Joint folder" Really great Videos, and excellent information. My question is How is the Centering of a blade when in the closed position established? The centering of the blade tends to be an issue especially with SMKW's House brand "Rough Ryder". Also why would a Blade have play in the Half stop position only? being nice a tight when opened and in closed position? Can centering and blade play issues be corrected in a finished Knife? Thank you so much.

    I bought my 225Q when I was about 11 years old. I found it in an antique store/junk shop near Fort Leonard Wood, Mo. I gave a dollar for it. I've still got it. Some of the best steel I've ever seen in a knife. If I had a choice I'd pick the 225Q over a KaBar any day. It's a lot sturdier.
