That slap was flawless…but for some odd reason, I really love hearing how heated Dallas and Ripley get with each other. They both show how stubborn they are. Ripley was right to do what she did, but it’s easy to understand where Dallas was coming from as well. This is one of Tom Skerritt’s best roles IMHO.
On the HD version of this on the Blu Ray you can see Sigourney holding back tears because she was NOT expecting Veronica (Lambert) to actually slap her.
The funny thing is, the slap impact itself was accidental. Veronica didn’t mean to hurt her at all, Sigorney just ran right into it. Still, that slap pissed Sigorney off because she apparently said “Ripley wouldn’t cry” according to Veronica in the behind the scenes documentary for Alien.
In the behind the scenes documentary for Alien, Ridley did tell Veronica to “get her this time” according to Veronica herself. However, she said that Sigorney literally went right into the slap, and that she didn’t mean to hurt her at all. But she did say Sigorney “started crying”.
@@mudspelledbackwards2997 directors cut has most of that scene, the other missing pice of the footage is in the special features. I had them added back together to make it complete.

The version of Alien I have doesn't have this slap in it like I remember from when I was a kid. What happened?
It wasn't just flawless. It was a "real" slap. The actor said it in a commentary about the movie.
@@CrniWuk I was so bummed when the version of the Alien movie I have didn't have that slap in it. Best part of the movie.
@@beestingza This is the Director's Cut. The theatrical version doesn't have this part of the scene.
Ridley asked Cartwright to hit Sigourney for real. Sigourney actually ended up crying.
Ripley would have whooped her ass if Parker and Brett didn’t step in.
Yep, look at the size of the two, Ripley would have demolished little Lambert.

I thought this scene was in the original cut. I have a copy I'm watching now and this scene isn't in it. I was so disappointed.

Looks like a fight in school 😂😂😂
And you can hear Dallas yelling from the room!
That was a gutsy move. Sigourney could have mopped the floor with her.
i really wish this was in the film! you can clearly hear who shaken sigourney is and imo it adds to the scene, veronica WALLOPED her lol
Apparently Sigourney had tears in her eyes after the take. But tbh I feel it would have made Lambert a much less likeable character.
It’s on the 2003 Director’s Cut.
Dayuuummm.
I felt that smack!
The director actually told her to slap Weaver for real, according to imdb?
Yes. Sigourney kept ducking away from Veronica’s attempts to smack her, so Ridley finally told Veronica to really give it to her. 😉
@@MontagZoso Ridley Scott has a long history of surprising his actors with shit like that. The chestburster scene was the same way.

Why did she do it though? I dont get it
@@tommyclegget3335 Because of the quarantine factor. Ripley was adamant 24 hours outside before letting them in due to the thing on Kane.
Ripley and Parker : Had they just listened to them they wouldve been alot better off. Shouldve left this scene in there.
it was hard
Sigourney Weaver mágica!!!. Única
Which DVD version is this scene in exactly?
