very cool when they sing together. His face lights up with joy when he realizes how much she truly loves him! Erik has a lovely voice. All the trouble was caused by his face, but love is not physical, it comes from the soul. Yes sex is a part of it, but even the act of love making is all about the feeling you get from touching someone, not how they look
I do too! the Jewel song is my favorite part of this and the Robert Englund Version of Phantom :3 and I very vaguely remember a copy of the 1925 film having it as well
This scene is so cool! Erik hearing Christine's voice and having life on his face :) . The last note Christine sang sounded like "Of me" . Like Webbers song
@thatappletree Ummm, she's singing for him, to raise his spirits and hopefully health, and to apologize. And she looks happy because she's IN CHARACTER. It's a play!!!
This singer sings Margureite soooooo well. Renee Flemming's version I just looked up is so ugly in comparison. (The vibrato part in the beginning of the song.)
GAH! I want to see Faust! This moview was spectacular and so adorably romantic :) charles DANCE! Yep, the voice double is great, I love her voice! Trying to find the song she hums and sings earlier and Erik uses to sing her to sleep, anyone know what the song is? I think it was called laissez moi planter something...Anyways, I loved this version!
that's partly why I think the 2004 version of Andrew Lloyd Webber's Phantom of the Opera doesn't make much sense to me because I really can't imagine Eric out living Christine and apparently being healthier then Raoul
I don't think he's healthier than him in which in the last scene of the movie when all.get older...Erik "as he is much older than both Christine and Raoul " would definitely be so old at the point of movie and my thought that he had left the flower with the ring at christine's grave and then die *because of his age * and of broken heart *as was originally written *
Wow! I love how Michele Lagrange sang the voice of Christine! What a GLORIOUS instrument! And, such wonderful vocal technique! Brava! Love, Susan

STOP IT ERIK!! I can't handle the emotions.

That Mephistopheles is hilarious. I love his facial expressions.
I like this song, personally.
Oh, I love "The Jewel Song" from Faust! And Michele Lagrange (soprano doubling to Teri Polo) sings very well.

4:00 GET HIM A WHEELCHAIR!! CARRY HIM!!!!! DO SOMETHING!!!!! T.T
this is beautiful. ^^ and I thought there wasn't any other phantom besides michael and gerard butler
Poor Erik, the stairs are becoming a bit of a hindrance......
The same song is sung in the 1989 Robert Englund version. I recognised it yay!
Erik: I need an elevator! *coughing and wheezing*
lol that needs to be a meme
No, Erik, please don't die!

I wish they had produced the whole opera in parallel!
love this movie
Oh man this is so sad, he got really ill because his Christine left him.... :(:(:(
It was in the Susan Kay's novel, Phantom.

that devil has got one deep voice!
I cried a bit too.
I know the song at 1:47 ! Charlotte Church sings this song! Its called "The Jewel Song"
Teri Polo isn't the singing voice behind Christine. Though I heard she has some sort of theatrical performing arts background.
WHAT THE-- She was all guilty for hurting the phantom so badly and the next second she's onstage having a great time?!
bipolor
She's in character...
in the book he died from a broken heart
Agreed. He's supposed to be mild comedy in the opera. ^.^
LOVE FAUST!
I remember Erik having a heart murmur or something in some version.

Why no subtitles for this?
In my humble opinion, Marguerite's aria was done better in the 80s horror version.
why is he randomly dieing =(
... why's he dying again?
i never understood if christine actually loved him so mutch to betray him
he is like judas
and he betrayed him with a kiss
@LerouxsPhantom Asia Argento. Though to be fair, hers was obvious XD
Ohh, Erik, honey, you need a doctor or something
